A New York City food hall venture is slated to open its two latest D.C.-area locations in Fairfax County later this month.
Wonder, which describes its food halls as a one-stop shop to conquer any craving, will soon begin serving diners in Franconia on Oct. 23 and in Reston on Oct. 30.
Both locations will have grand opening festivities, starting at 4:30 p.m., with restaurant samples and exclusive giveaways, the company announced.
In Franconia, Wonder will occupy the former Genghis Grill at 7001 F Manchester Blvd in the Festival at Manchester Lakes shopping center.
More than a dozen eateries will be featured at the location, “meaning families will have their pick of burgers, tacos, pizza, BBQ, and more, all in one place,” a press release said.
Featured brands include Tejas Barbecue, Streetbird by Marcus Samuelsson, Bobby Flay Steak, Limesalt and Detroit Brick Pizza, among others.
Across the county, the Reston location — housed in the former Brown Bag storefront at 11690 Plaza America Drive — will feature “the most restaurant options yet,” the company said.
In addition to the eateries found at Wonder’s other locations, the Reston venue will have Jota by Jose Andres, Bankside by JJ Johnson, Barrio Cafe and more.
With the opening of the two restaurants, Wonder will bring its Northern Virginia portfolio up to three locations. The food hall arrived in Rosslyn this summer, continuing a rapid expansion across the D.C. area that began in July with the launch of a District outpost.
“The locations significantly expand Wonder’s footprint in Northern Virginia, making convenient pickup, dine-in and delivery options, Wonder’s unique multi-restaurant ordering experience, and delicious fare from the nation’s best chefs accessible to more families and busy professionals than ever,” the company said in its press release.
Both of the Fairfax County locations will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Diners may dine-in, order carryout or have food delivered through GrubHub.
Founded by former Walmart executive Marc Lore in 2021, Wonder allows diners to mix and match dishes from multiple restaurants in a single order — “a seamless solution for every mealtime moment,” the company says.
