One of my favorite things to do when I visit family in South Carolina is shop for antiques, thrifted clothes, and vintage treasures. Luckily enough, Little Mountain, a nearby town, has a handful of places that always satisfy my craving. Take Little Mountain Unlimited as the perfect example. Not only can I spend hours wandering the stalls of this 25,000-square-foot wonderland, but there is always something new to enjoy each time I visit. Plus, when I get hungry, I can just descend the stairs into a specialty cafe, one of my favorite places for a quick bite and hot beverage.
One of the main reasons I keep coming back to Little Mountain Unlimited is for the shopping. Stepping inside, I'm always amazed at over 150 booths and 70+ dealers offering a carefully curated collection of antiques, vintage finds, and one-of-a-kind collectibles. From beautifully aged furniture and rustic home décor to delicate china, glassware, and tools that tell a story, every aisle holds the promise of discovery. Well-lit and impeccably maintained, the space is an absolute delight to explore. I love visiting with my mom, watching her recognize household goods and other decor from her childhood, and listening to the memories as we peruse.
But perhaps the best surprise of all is that there is a renowned cafe downstairs. Featuring homemade sandwiches, fresh-out-of-the-oven tomato pies, and so much more, even people who aren't shopping stop by to grab a bite to eat.
Whenever I need a break from shopping (trust me, there is a lot to see!) I head downstairs to the Antique Mall Cafe, located on the lower level. Finding a menu brimming with delicious options, especially daily specials and seasonal offerings, is always exciting. Choose from fresh salads, hearty sandwiches, warm quiches, burgers, and wraps, all made in-house. I always opt for a sandwich, rotating from the grilled cheese specials or a hearty wrap, paired with an ice-cold Charleston tea. If I'm feeling especially hungry, I'll find a dessert, too. With fresh-baked dessert options, it's pretty hard to say no.
Downstairs also has a surprise in terms of decor. Vintage rock memorabilia line the walls, with signed guitars, drums, and concert posters everywhere. It's always nice to wander around after eating and take in all the musical magic.
While I don't always walk away from Little Mountain Unlimited with bags of vintage finds, one thing I can always be sure of is going home with a full belly.
Little Mountain Unlimited and the cafe have differing hours, so make sure to visit the Little Mountain Unlimited Facebook Page to learn more before you visit.
