The Dragons, ranked No. 22 in the latest Sporting News Top 25 nationwide poll, finished 15-1 before falling to Austin Vandegrift in the 6A DII championship game. They return 10 starters on offense and nine more on defense, headlined by quarterback and Pitt commit Angelo Renda and wide receiver Brock Boyd, an Ohio State commit.
As for Midland, the Bulldogs are coming off an 8-4 season, but they suffered heavy graduation losses. In fact, they bring back two starters on both sides of the ball. One returning starter to watch is offensive lineman Pule Primus.

No longer just a weeklong event, DFW Restaurant Week 2025 spans nearly the entire month, running August 4–31, with a Preview Weekend July 31–August 3 at select restaurants. Diners can enjoy exclusive three-course dinners for $49 or $59, two-course lunches or brunches for $29 and elevated Signature Experience dinners for $99 — with approximately 20% of each meal’s price donated to either NTFB or Lena Pope, depending on the restaurant’s location.
Southlake-area favorites participating this year include Del Frisco’s Grille, Jellico’s & Curve Lounge, Kirby’s Prime Steakhouse, Ferah Tex-Med, Moxies and The Henley Kitchen & Bar.
