SHAVER LAKE, Calif. (KFSN) -- The search continues in Eastern Fresno County for Ron Dailey, the Selma man who has been missing for 12 days and was last seen near Shaver Lake.
"Everything that we have gathered so far is that this is going to be some sort of an unexpected mishap," Lieutenant Kathy Curtis with the Fresno County Sheriff's Office said.
She described Dailey as an experienced hunter who was very familiar with the Sierra when he set out last Monday.
"A significant winter storm came through," Lieutenant Curtis said. "It did drop a lot of snow on the area in which he was, and he did not make it home that night."
Some of the snow is visible in pictures shared by crews on the ground.
Nearly two weeks later, there is still no sign of Dailey or his truck.
"All indications from interviews with his friends and family are that he's going to be fairly close to that vehicle, and so that's why it's our number one priority," Lieutenant Curtis said.
The Sheriff's Office is now deploying AI technology, using it to scan aerial images of the vast forest as officials look for Dailey's silver Dodge Dakota.
"Those good photographs, we are going to process through two separate AI programs," Lieutenant Curtis said. "And our goal with that is (that) hopefully an AI program can pick up an anomaly in the forest that our eyes haven't been able to so far."
In a statement to Action News, Dailey's daughter thanked the searchers, writing that they're working "...tirelessly to bring Ron home."
"Our family is grateful for the support and your prayers," she wrote. "If you have seen anything or have any tips, no matter how big or small, please contact the Fresno Sheriff's Office."
"As long as there are things that we can do to keep moving forward in our efforts to find Mr. Dailey, then we're going to continue to do so," Lieutenant Curtis said.

CLOVIS, Calif. -- A missing hunter who had been missing for 20 days in California was found alive on Saturday.
Ron Dailey, of Selma, California was supposed to be gone for a day of hunting in the Sierra National Forest, and when he didn't return home, his family contacted the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.
Dailey said he went to the Swamp Lake Trail. Before he knew it, he found himself in uncharted territory.
"I went over this thing, and it was scraping bottom. I looked up the tree in front of it, it said Diamond Road, jeep road. That means you'd better have a rock crawler. I don't have a rock crawler," said Dailey.
He continued down the trail. Eventually, he realized his truck was destroyed, so he used it as shelter. Dailey had food for about two weeks.
After several days had passed, at an elevation of about 10,000 feet, Dailey decided to make a move.
"You either try to walk out or you're going to sit here and die," said Dailey.
The Selma man said he fell a couple of times going downhill, and when he was at the bottom of a rocky hill, he noticed he lost his phone.
Weeks passed and Dailey said after several miles of walking and lots of praying -- relief.
"I can't hardly walk anymore, Lord, you gotta help me Father God," Dailey said. "I raised my head up, there was a car with headlights on and I go 'Oh God, thank you Lord.'"
Authorities said he was found by a group of hunters near Swamp Lake Trail on Saturday.
"There were resources from across the Central Valley that came here. We have different counties that sent equipment. Kern County sent equipment. Of course, Tulare County, Kings County all had individuals here assisting with the search," said Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig.
Dailey's daughter, Breanna, recorded him recounting how he got lost as he recovered at in a Clovis hospital.
Dailey is being monitored by doctors. The family says if everything goes as planned, Dailey will be released on Monday.

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- On Thursday, law enforcement agencies from northern to southern California joined in the search efforts for Ron Dailey, a missing Selma man who has been out in the wilderness of Shaver Lake since Monday.
"You'd be amazed at what people can survive, so odds are definitely in his favor," said Sgt. Scott Weishaar with the Fresno County Sheriff's Search and Rescue.
The Fresno County Sheriff's Search and Rescue not taking any chances, from volunteers to drones to off-road-vehicles, it is using every tool to find Ron Dailey. The 65-year-old Selma man was reported missing on Monday after a day spent deer hunting in eastern Fresno County.
"Talking to the family, he's extremely familiar with this area. He came well-prepared and luckily, he's got his vehicle. The vehicle's a great source of shelter at night," said Sgt. Weishaar.
Fresno County Sheriff Search and Rescue say it would not be able to continue its efforts without its selfless volunteers.
On Thursday, as many as 32 volunteers stepped forward to assist -- many without a law enforcement background.
"People who have a bit of extra time; a love for the outdoors and love helping people," said Sgt. Weishaar.
Search and Rescue also rolling out specialized equipment that can sustain the rugged mountainous terrain of eastern Fresno County -- even in inclement weather.
"They can drive off in both the snow and the dirt, compared to other vehicles that are strictly in snow or strictly dirt," said Sgt. Weishaar.
Kern County Sheriff's offering its Sherp to the search - an all-terrain amphibious vehicle designed to handle the most challenging terrain.
"This is really helpful because they can start out in their search area in the dirt and as it transitions to the snow then they don't have to change equipment," said Sgt. Weishaar.
Fresno County Sheriff's will enter its fifth day of the search on Friday -- with this message to Ron's family.
"Stay strong. They're lucky they have an experienced husband and grandfather that's out there and I'm hopeful that he gets found OK."
On Thursday night, CalFire will join in the search efforts utilizing a specialized aircraft equipped with thermal technology.
The mission to bring Ron Dailey home will continue Friday with a debrief with volunteers beginning at 7 a.m. at the sheriff's base of operations in Shaver Lake.
