VA Funded In-Home Care

Always Best Care Will Do All The Work Needed To Get Your Family Member The Funding They Deserve.

If you're like most folks living in the United States, chances are, someone in your family or someone you know has served time in the military. Veterans truly deserve our deepest love, support, and care. Yet, many of these selfless men and women experience feelings of isolation and struggle with everyday tasks like cooking, cleaning, and self-care. After all the hard work and bravery these soldiers dedicated to our country, they have earned the right to have a caregiver assist them with their daily needs.

Fortunately, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers a range of home care services tailored to support both Veterans and their family members. These services are carried out by trained in-home caregivers who visit clients daily to provide essential care. As a home care company that truly values our Veterans, we are proud to connect Veterans to expert franchise owners who can help them get the essential care they need.

If your loved one is a Veteran and needs Veterans community care funding in Boynton Beach or funding for another VA home care program, know that we are here to help. All it takes is a call to Always Best Care to get started. From there, we'll put you in touch with a local Always Best Care franchise owner who will do all the work needed to get your family member the funding they deserve.

VA FUNDED In-HOME CARE

Qualifying for Always Best Care's VA Community Care Network (CCN)

The VACCN Homemaker/Home Health Aide & Respite Care is a benefit offered to Veterans who require assistance with activities associated with daily living. Homemakers and Home Health Aides, while not nurses themselves, are trained professionals who can provide support and care to Veterans in their own homes.

They are supervised by an Always Best Care registered nurse who assesses the Veteran's care needs and supervises each individual case.

TESTIMONIALS

“I have worked with, and explored working with, various agencies and registries in the Palm Beach County area. I am picky. Always Best Care is qualitatively a notch above every other organization I’ve encountered. Responsive. Amiable. Professional. The aide, Islande, who has worked with my mom is top-notch for our needs. And... I have no doubt Steve (the agency’s owner) and his staff would strive to find someone else, if it hadn’t been a fit.If you are looking for Nursing Care, I strongly recommend giving Always Best Care a chance.BTW: It is important to understand that working with an Nursing Agency (like Always Best Care), means the staff are employees, not independent contractors (as they are when working through a Nursing Registry). An Agency is vested in having good employees, and a good agency wants you to be happy. But even all Agencies are not created equal. I worked with one (Alternative Health Care) where aides did not always show up! That was painful and incredibly stressful, and the manager and other higher-up staff didn’t give a hoot.”

“We have been using Always Best Care for my mom for two years now and I am hear to say that they are the best we have been with. The Caregivers go above and beyond what we expect and treat my with nothing but love. Fran and Steve and Claudia are with us 24/7 everyday. It has been a real rollercoaster with my mom’s issues, but they are definitely our rock of support. Michelle, who is mom’s full time daytime caregiver has been with her since we started and she is like part of the family. She calls and checks on her off hours because she cares and there is no price you can put on that. If you do not try this agency, you are missing out.”

TESTIMONIALS

“I have been utilizing Always Best Care Senior Services for 2 years to care 24/7 for my elderly parents. I am very pleased with their services. The Owners and Office Staff bend over backwards to make sure that there is always coverage, to alert my parents Caregiver Team of any requests that I make, to advise me when there is an issue with my parents or their dog. The Caregiver Team working with my parents are all compassionate and caring, knowledgeable and skilled. Sadly, my Father passed away in the fall of 2020. Each of their Caregivers, the Owners and the Office Staff expressed to me that they would like to attend his memorial service when we are able to have it. During the weeks he was slipping away, the Caregiver team not only took care of my parents, they looked after me, gently reminding me to eat, rest or take a break. They truly care not only for my parents, but for all our family. I can’t begin to express what a comfort it has been to have them caring for my parents, especially during the pandemic when visits are prohibited. They are my eyes and ears. Working intimately with my parents, the Caregivers are very tuned in to even subtle changes. If you are in the market and looking for a senior services/home health care company, I strongly urge you to reach out to Always Best Care Senior Services. You’ll be happy you did.”

From the highest level administration (Stephen and Beverly) to the amazing caregivers and schedulers -- the entire staff have been responsive and attentive from day one. And readily available and again responsive when we reinitiated services for my father. Their attentiveness and professionalism is reflected in the amazingly kind, competent and resourceful caregiving staff. “Always Best Care has been wonderful in many ways. Steve Snell, Owner and Area Representative, and Beverly Casper, RN were patient, kind and respectful while my Dad came to terms with the idea that he really did need help. They were flexible and open and that made all the difference. My Dad's aide Fabienne is responsible and caring and now more of a companion than aide. Steve and his scheduling team has been proactive about any changes that needed to occur and very good about communicating with me both by phone and email. Having them on board has lessened the worry I feel on a daily basis. My mother had a prolonged illness and through the years we dealt with many health care agencies. The attention and care we have received from Always Best Care is, by far, the best we ever have experienced and we are very grateful to have found them.”

“Always Best Care was a life savor for my parents especially my Dad who is a former Veteran. Steve helped us reach out to the right contacts with the VA and was able to take us thru the process step by step to ensure that my Dad was able to get the most benefits possible to him which ended being about 32 hours of free home health care a week. The aids have been great for both of my parents. They have formed great relationships with Carol and Fred and now as of recently AnnMarie. The aids help getting groceries and picking up medication and also clean up around the house. They feel very cared for and have really turned the corner in feeling happier and well cared for. We are extremely grateful to Steve and his team at Always Best for working with us and ensuring my parents safety and well being! It's a great agency and all the workers who are part of this business!!”

THE Next Steps

How to Qualify for VA Funded In-Home Care

Whether you are a Veteran and need in-home care services or you're a family member of a Veteran, it's important to qualify for our VA Community Care Network. To qualify, consider the following:

  • Veterans must be honorably discharged. They do NOT need to be war-era Veterans
  • Veterans must sign up for VA Healthcare

You should be aware that any home care services that are authorized depend on you or your loved one's physician's assessment of needs.

How To Enroll In

Always Best Care's VA Community Care Network

Gaining access to VA senior care requires a three-step enrollment process. Those steps include the following:

First, request an Assessment for Community Care Network (CCN) services from your VA Physician. From there, the VA Physician will conduct an assessment and write an order accordingly (based on eligibility and needs). After that step, request that your VA Physician specifies which VA home care provider you would like to use, such as Always Best Care.

  • Palm Beach Vet Center
  • Baptist Health Bethesda Hospital West
  • MedFlorida Medical CentersBoynton Beach
  • Boynton Beach Medical Plaza
  • Thomas H Corey VA Medical Center
  • Delray Beach VA Clinic

During this step, a Community Care Coordinator from the VA will contact you after the VA Physician writes your order. After making contact, the Community Care Coordinator will inform you of the type of care and quantity of hours per week authorized by the VA.

If you have not selected a specific provider, the Community Care Coordinator will provide options in your area. Once a Community Provider like Always Best Care is selected, the Community Care Coordinator will send the authorization to the selected Community Provider that you request.

Should you choose Always Best Care as your Community Care Provider, a home care claims manager will call you to arrange a care consultation, complete the intake paperwork, and schedule in-home care services. After the care consultation, the Community Care Provider performs a final assessment of your needs.

After the final assessment is complete, a Care Plan is created for you by the Community Provider. The Community Care Provider will arrange for a caregiver to come to your home for the number of authorized hours allowed each week.

Note: Veterans may choose their in-home care provider and are under NO OBLIGATION TO SELECT Always Best Care.

Veterans Community Care Funding in Boynton Beach, FL

As a Veteran, you may be eligible to get care outside the VA. This means the VA will pay for the cost of your care from a health care provider in their community care network. Long-term services offered within this program may include:

  • Help with Daily Tasks: Like meal prep, bathing, getting dressed, taking medicine, and cleaning the house.
  • Comfort and Companionship Care: An in-home caregiver can visit your home if you do not have family or loved ones nearby and help provide companionship services. Those services may include socialization, emotional support, and help staying independent in your home.
  • Support for Caregivers: If you are a caregiver or a Veteran who has a caregiver who needs to take a break for work or personal reasons, don't worry. The VA can provide assistance from a qualified in-home caregiver.

  • You are bedridden or spend a significant amount of time in bed due to an illness.
  • Your mental or physical abilities are compromised because of a disability, and you're a patient in a nursing home.

Veterans Agent Orange Funding in Boynton Beach, FL

Many U.S. Veterans returning from Vietnam began to report health issues almost right away, linking them to exposure to Agent Orange and dioxin. This connection sparked controversy from the outset and persists to this day. Veterans suffering from exposure to Agent Orange may be eligible for in-home care funding from Always Best Care.

One common misconception about this program is that Veterans must have served in Vietnam or were directly exposed to Agent Orange to qualify for funding. The truth is that a soldier DOES NOT need direct exposure to Agent Orange to benefit from quality in-home care.

However, to qualify for this type of funding, the Veteran must have served in the military when the government was using this harmful chemical herbicide. So long as you or your Veteran loved one served in the military during Agent Orange use, they may qualify - even if they did not serve in Vietnam.

The following cancers and illnesses are proven to have been caused by Agent Orange:

  • Hodgkin's Disease
  • Prostate Cancer
  • Respiratory Cancers
  • Bladder Cancer
  • Chronic B-Cell Leukemia
  • Diabetes Type 2
  • Parkinson's Disease
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Peripheral Neuropathy

Whether you served in Vietnam and were exposed to Agent Orange or you are a Veteran who served our country while the herbicide was used, you deserve personalized in-home care from expert caregivers. Unfortunately, securing VA funding for these services can be difficult - especially for older Veterans. That's why many soldiers contact Always Best Care for help.

Our franchise owners are experts when it comes to VA home care claims management in Boynton Beach. When you call your local Always Best Care location, you can expect tailored service, expert guidance, and reliable help throughout the qualifying process.

VA Funded Home Care FAQs

The VA provides various programs that deliver both medical and non-medical home care services for eligible Veterans. These initiatives are part of the VA's home and community-based services. They're aimed at enhancing the well-being of Veterans facing chronic illnesses or service-related disabilities.

Non-medical home care encompasses services such as companionship, assistance with household tasks, and personal care. In contrast, home health care services focus on medical needs and include skilled nursing, medication management, and rehabilitative therapies.

The homemaker and home health aide program includes a trained caregiver visiting the Veteran's home to assist with daily household tasks, like grocery shopping or personal care. The frequency of the caregiver's visits can vary based on the Veteran's requirements, whether they need support daily or just occasionally. Veterans can keep receiving help as long as they need assistance with everyday activities. This program enables Veterans to remain in their homes instead of relocating to a nursing facility. It also supports family caregivers by alleviating their stress and physical demands.

The financial support provided by the VA for Veterans' home care can differ significantly depending on the program utilized by the Veteran, their disability status, and various other factors. In the case of spouses or family members of Veterans, the VA's payment for home care will be determined by their eligibility and the specific care requirements they have. Working with a VA home care funding specialist in Boynton Beach may help Veterans and their families understand eligibility requirements. Working with an expert may also help to clarify how much the VA will pay for in-home care.

Possibly. Whether a spouse or surviving spouse qualifies depends on their specific circumstances and their ability to fulfill eligibility criteria. For instance, a surviving spouse who enters into a new marriage loses eligibility for TRICARE, which is the military's health insurance program. If a spouse or surviving spouse does not qualify for TRICARE, they might still have access to VA health care benefits through programs like The Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA).

South Florida-based Affiliated Development has closed on a $73 million construction loan with Pacific Life Insurance Company for The Dune, a mixed-use, mixed-income multifamily development in Boynton Beach, Florida.

Located off Federal Highway just north of Delray Beach, The Dune will deliver 336 residential units, including 298 luxury apartments in an eight-story building and 38 three-story luxury townhomes with internal parking garages, along with street-level retail and structured parking. The project will offer unobstructed intracoastal and ocean views and convenient access to I-95, placing residents between major employment centers in Boca Raton and West Palm Beach.

The Dune is designed to deliver best-in-class Class A living at attainable rental rates, addressing a deeply undersupplied segment of the housing market. The project contains 198 units reserved for households earning between 80% and 120% of Area Median Income, providing high-quality workforce housing in a high-barrier, coastal market.

Fort Lauderdale-based Affiliated Development has developed a niche for building luxury class-A multifamily communities at attainable rents. The Dune will feature a resort-style amenity package and high-end finishes consistent with Affiliated Development’s Class A standards, while maintaining rents accessible to middle-income households. The project exemplifies the firm’s strategy of developing luxury multifamily communities in high-barrier markets while leveraging legislative tools, local incentives, and creative capital structures.

To facilitate the development, Affiliated Development utilized the State of Florida’s Live Local Act, which allows for certainmixed-income residential projects that dedicate at least 40% of the units to workforce housing to obtain development approvals as well as height and density bonuses.

“The Live Local Act has created a meaningful pathway to deliver workforce housing in high-cost markets, and The Dune is a strong example of how thoughtful public policy can help unlock much-needed housing while maintaining design quality and community standards.” says Nick Rojo, Co-Founder of Affiliated Development. “Providing quality, attainably priced housing would not be possible without participation from our public partners, it takes creative solutions to address the housing crisis, especially given the current cost environment.”

The Dune celebrates a successful collaboration between Affiliated, the City of Boynton Beach and Palm Beach Countyto address both redevelopment and housing. In addition to receiving zoning and density incentives, the project participated in Palm Beach County’s Workforce Housing Exchange Program.

“The City of Boynton Beach is experiencing unprecedented transformation and growth,” says Jeff Burns, Co-Founder of Affiliated Development. “Affiliated is pleased to work alongside City leadership and staff to deliver much needed workforce housing. In total, Affiliated is investing $240 Million into the City of Boynton Beach, so you could say we’re big believers in all that the City has to offer.”

In addition to The Dune, Affiliated Development is developing The Pierce, a 300-unit mixed-use workforce housing development that will include 17,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space and a public parking garage, located one from the intracoastal waterway on Ocean Avenue and Federal Highway. The Pierce will be the home to the new Hurricane Alley restaurant and bar, a Boynton Beach establishment owned by founder, Kim Kelley. Demolition and utility relocation work is currently underway and the vertical construction for the project is slated to begin in mid 2026.

The project is being capitalized with the $73 million construction loan from Pacific Life Insurance Company and equity from Affiliated Housing Impact Fund, LP, along with family office capital partners. Construction is expected to commence immediately following closing.

Affiliated Development continues to be one of the most active mixed-income and workforce housing developers in South Florida, with projects completed or underway throughout Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties. The firm has been recognized for its leadership in delivering mixed-income housing through innovative public-private partnerships and institutional capital relationships.

It is being disinfected using chloramine rather than free chlorine

BOCA RATON, Fla. —

Delray Beach is temporarily using water from Boca Raton and Boynton Beach after a recent raw water main break.

The city said Saturday the emergency water interconnections were opened with the other cities "to maintain reliable water service."

The water supplied is disinfected using chloramine rather than free chlorine, which is the disinfectant currently used by Delray Beach's system.

"There are no known health effects associated with this temporary change in disinfectant, and the water continues to meet all applicable state and federal drinking water standards," the city said. "Most customers will not notice any difference in their water."

In an update posted Saturday night, "residents and businesses are urged to stop all lawn and landscape irrigation for the next 72 hours to prevent low water pressure and reduce the likelihood of a citywide boil water notice. "

Once the situation is fully resolved and normal operations are restored, the city will promptly notify our customers.

Those with specific concerns for dialysis, aquariums or other sensitive uses should contact the city's water department for additional guidance.

The city's Utilities Department Customer Service team can be contacted at 561-243-7312 Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

"Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to ensure continued safe and reliable water service," the city said.

The Delray Beach Water Utilities Department provides services to approximately 68,000 residents.

The city is planning to break ground on Jan. 29 on a $287 million water treatment plan to replace an aging system that has served the community for more than six decades, the Palm Beach Post reported. The plant, which will be located on South Swinton Avenue, is financed through two revenue bonds specifically issued for water utility improvements.

FWC officials say 28-year-old Michael Gee hit the Woolbright Bridge and then crashed into private docks

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — A 28-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly losing control of his boat on the Intracoastal Waterway in Boynton Beach, and leaving his passenger behind after she was thrown from the vessel.

WATCH: Patrons at Boynton Beach restaurant captured incident

Michael Gee was arrested following the Sunday night incident that was captured on video by witnesses dining at Prime Catch. The dramatic footage shows the boat spinning in circles on the water as onlookers watched in disbelief.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials say Gee hit the Woolbright Bridge and then crashed into private docks. The impact ejected a female passenger from the boat, causing injuries to her back, arms, foot and head. A dog was also on board during the incident.

"As a qualified captain would say, doing the circle of death around him," said Douglas Oakland, a witness and boat captain who recorded the incident.

Oakland said he heard a crash before witnessing the boat spinning out of control.

"We heard a bang. Not traumatic but like, oh my god what happened," Oakland said.

Diners at the waterfront restaurant rushed to help when they saw someone in the water, but Oakland said Gee sped away from the scene, abandoning the injured woman.

"Hitting a dock going 30 knots or 25 knots I would say, and then getting ejected, that's a different level," Oakland said.

FWC says Gee traveled about three miles to the George Bush Boulevard Bridge, where his boat eventually sank. Other boaters helped rescue Gee and the dog from the sinking vessel.

Both Gee and the ejected passenger were airlifted to local hospitals and are expected to recover from their injuries.

"Well, at least no one was hurt. He shouldn't have done it," Oakland said.

Gee now faces two charges: leaving the scene of a boating accident and property damage. FWC officials say the investigation remains open and have not yet determined if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.

Temporary Traffic Pattern Set for I-95 Exit at Boynton Beach Boulevard

, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — A temporary traffic pattern is set to take effect this weekend at one of Boynton Beach’s busiest highway exits as bridge repair work begins.

Starting Sunday night, Jan. 4, 2026, crews are expected to begin repairs on the Boynton Beach Boulevard bridge over the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority railroad tracks. The work is scheduled to continue into early spring 2026 and is required before wider bridge construction can move forward.

The changes will directly affect drivers exiting southbound Interstate 95 at Boynton Beach Boulevard.

Under the temporary setup, the southbound I-95 exit ramp will no longer allow a free-flowing right turn onto westbound Boynton Beach Boulevard. Instead, all traffic exiting southbound I-95 will be required to stop on red at the traffic signal before entering the roadway.

Drivers accustomed to rolling through the exit without stopping should expect delays, particularly during peak travel hours. The signalized stop will control all movements from the ramp while bridge repairs are underway.

Additional lane impacts are also planned on Boynton Beach Boulevard itself.

The westbound inside lane of Boynton Beach Boulevard over the railroad tracks will be closed to allow crews access to the bridge structure. Despite the closure, two westbound lanes will remain open. Those lanes will be shifted to the outside shoulder to maintain traffic flow through the work zone.

Eastbound travel on Boynton Beach Boulevard is not listed as part of the lane closure in the temporary traffic plan.

Transportation officials say the repairs are a necessary step before bridge widening operations can begin. The work is expected to remain in place through early spring, though an exact completion date has not been announced.

Motorists traveling through the area are encouraged to plan for extra time, follow posted signs, and use caution when driving through the construction zone, especially at night when work activity may be higher.

Questions about the project or traffic changes can be directed to FDOT Southeast Florida at 561-589-9584.
