Sprouts Farmers Market is set to open in King’s Crossing, also referred to as the old H-E-B center.
The history
Located at the northwest corner of Kingwood Drive and West Lake Houston Parkway, King’s Crossing was acquired in late 2020 by Houston-based developers SDI Reality Advisors after at least eight businesses relocated in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Community Impact reported.
Redevelopment lasted a year and a half as the complex underwent infrastructural and storm line repairs, said Charles Shears, managing partner of SDI Reality.
Since the H-E-B moved to the adjacent northeast corner in 2016, the center had been without an anchor tenant, Shears said. When H-E-B’s contract at King’s Crossing terminated in October, SDI Reality pursued other candidates, including Sprouts.
At the time of acquisition, the center was 20% leased, Shears said. As of December, the center was 100% leased. In the past months, the center opened Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse and The Flying Biscuit Café. Next year, James Avery Artisan Jewelry and sushi restaurant Saki Ban sushi are set to open.
SDI Reality are also pursuing two other tenants to occupy spaces within Sprouts by next year, Shears said.
What else?
The national grocery chain has opened over 54 locations in Texas alone, with locations in Katy, Pearland, Spring and three within Houston according to the website.
Sprouts will also be opening a location in The Woodlands for 2027, Community Impact reported.
