The Clearwater opening closely follows the return of Chicken Salad Chick to Palm Harbor, where the original location at 35271 US Highway 19 N reopened on July 23 after closing due to a fire earlier this year.
Both locations are owned and operated by local franchisees Paul and Linsay Rohr, who first brought Chicken Salad Chick to the area in 2015. The Clearwater opening will be their sixth Florida location, joining restaurants in Brooksville, Seminole, St. Petersburg, Trinity, and now the newly reopened Palm Harbor.
Free chicken salad for a year to the first 100 in line
To celebrate the Clearwater grand opening, the first 100 guests in line at 10:30 a.m. on opening day will win free chicken salad for a year. The first person in line will receive a free large Quick Chick of chicken salad every week, while the next 99 guests will each receive one per month.
In addition to the big giveaway, the new Clearwater location has a full week of daily specials and fun freebies:
Clearwater Opening Week:
Before entering the food business, the Rohrs worked in the medical field. They opened their first Chicken Salad Chick in Palm Harbor nearly a decade ago and have since become leaders in the brand’s regional growth, according to a press release.
The original Palm Harbor location temporarily closed after a fire earlier this year, but the couple credits strong community support for helping them bounce back.
“We’re beyond thrilled to bring the Chick back to Palm Harbor and to introduce it to Clearwater,” said Paul Rohr. “Opening these locations is about more than just food — it’s about creating a space where people feel welcome. We’ve been waiting for the right moment to expand into Clearwater, and we’re excited to finally make it happen.”
Chicken Salad Chick features more than a dozen varieties of made-from-scratch chicken salad, along with soups, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. Popular choices include traditional flavors like Classic Carol and more adventurous ones like Buffalo Barclay and Sassy Scotty. Each location also offers patio seating, dine-in service, drive-thru, takeout, third-party delivery, and catering.
Fast-casual spot gives back to Pinellas County
As part of the opening celebrations, the Rohrs are also hosting Friends & Family events to raise funds for Folds of Honor, a nonprofit that provides scholarships for the families of fallen soldiers and first responders. Paul, a U.S. Army veteran, and his wife Linsay have raised more than $200,000 for the organization through their restaurants over the years.
“Supporting the community is part of who we are,” said Rohr. “We’re proud to give back through causes that matter to us and our guests.”
Chicken Salad Chick in Clearwater will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
