Fans must give cashiers a secret password. For “Severance,” the password is “the work is mysterious and important.” For “The Studio,” the password is “Thank you, Sal Saperstein.”
In “The Studio,” Seth Rogen stars as Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of embattled Continental Studios. As movies struggle to stay alive and relevant, Matt and his team battle their insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and corporate overlords in the pursuit of making great films. Every decision is either an opportunity for success or a potential catastrophe.
In “Severance,” Mark Scout, played by Adam Scott, leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure that surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This risky experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work and himself. In season two, Mark and his friends discover the consequences of trifling with the severance barrier.
