TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A fat-burning supplement sold by a Florida-based company has been recalled due to a dangerous, undeclared ingredients.
The FDA announced the recall for a lot of Ana Salazar Modela Tu Cuerpo Inc.’s Lipofit Extreme Fat Burner 2.0, a dietary supplement promoted for weight loss.
However, this lot of Lipofit was tainted with undeclared fluoxetine in the daytime tablets and 2,4-dinitrophenol (DNP) in the nighttime tablets.
Fluoxetine is a chemical used to help treat depression, bulimia, and OCD, but DNP is a toxic chemical used as a pesticide, dye, and wood preservative that is illegally promoted as a weight-loss product. Neither fluoxetine nor DNP is not approved for weight loss use by the FDA.
According to the FDA, both of these chemicals, when combined, could present a wide range of health risks, including:
Long-term use of the tainted Lipofit could also cause damage to vision, skin, bone marrow, nervous system, and heart. The risk of fatal cardiac events is also elevated in patients who use other medications.
The FDA discovered the contamination during a lab analysis. So far, there have been no known adverse reactions reported to the FDA or Ana Salazar Modela Tu Cuerpo Inc.
The recalled product has a lot number of 25M12F and has an expiration date of September 2027.
The supplement was sold and distributed to online customers across the United States.

Wright’s Market is set to take over The Candle Pour space inside of Oxford Exchange, located in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Tampa.
Wright’s Market is a market-style experience from South Tampa deli and baked goods stalwart Wright’s Gourmet House. The Candle Pour will remain open through Labor Day, said a news release.
“Wright’s Market will bring that familiar local legacy to Oxford Exchange through a market-style retail experience built around bakery driven treats and Wright’s most beloved favorites,” the release said.
The Candle Pour’s three other stores are not affected by the longtime pop-up’s closure. The spot recently opened outposts in Sarasota and the EDGE District in St. Petersburg, and has a location in nearby Hyde Park Village.
“The Candle Pour gave guests another way to celebrate and make their Oxford Exchange visit personal,” said assistant director of retail at Oxford Exchange Joey Perez. “We are so grateful for the memories and experiences created in this space.”
Oxford Exchange houses a restaurant and gift shop. Wright’s Gourmet House, acquired by Caspers Company in 2024, is a 60-plus-year-old South Tampa deli known for its sandwiches, bakery and catering.
No opening timeline or menus for the new market have been made available.
