Where can you find the best Christmas lights in metro Phoenix this year? Really, all over. You don’t have to look far to find dazzling holiday light displays in your part of town.
Christmas is in the rearview mirror, but a number of the Valley’s biggest and most elaborate displays keep the lights on till New Year’s Eve or even later.
Here are more than two dozen home displays you can still enjoy around town.
Central Phoenix Christmas lights
Shepard Family Christmas2101 E. Mitchell DriveThis cheery array of 30,000-plus lights near Osborn Road and 21st Street is a perennial favorite. This year’s display features a Narnia-inspired theme, 11 glowing trees and plenty of festive touches. Hours: Nightly through the holidays.
Arcadia Christmas House4415 E. Calle TuberiaArcadia’s Lee Sepanek, better known as “Christmas Lee,” may have downsized his once-massive holiday display in recent years, but its magic still shines. His current setup spans three homes and glows with 50,000 lights, delighting nightly visitors with a scaled-back but still sparkling spectacle. Hours: 6 to 10 p.m. nightly through Jan. 1.
Pinchot Avenue’s Candy Canes2801 E. Pinchot Ave. A two-block stretch of Pinchot Avenue becomes a strollable, drivable holiday display each night in December. Glowing candy canes are arranged on lightposts on either side of the street. Overhead, a radiant Christmas star and peace symbol shine above the scene, sealing the walk-through winter vibes. Hours: Nightly at dusk through early January.
North Phoenix Christmas lights
The Deepdale Arcade501 E. Deepdale Roaddeepdalearcade.comTy and Brian Seibel turn their holiday display into a full-on gaming experience. Visitors can use glowing joysticks to play “Pong” and “Pac-Man” on a 3,000-pixel LED screen mounted on the roof. High scores are even posted on the Deepdale Arcade website. Hours: Dusk to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, dusk to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, through Dec. 31.
Moon Valley’s 12 Homes of ChristmasMoon Valley Neighborhoodmoonvalley.orgThis annual Christmastime tradition turns Moon Valley’s neighborhoods into a high-watt holiday loop. More than a dozen homes go big with themed displays and synchronized flair. Cruise the circuit or walk the block as house after house features festive one-upmanship on a grand scale. Christmas Lights on Voltaire4600-4800 E. Voltaire Ave.North Phoenix’s Voltaire Avenue becomes a coordinated Christmas corridor nightly as more than two dozen homes sync their lights into a walkable and driveable holiday experience. Every house rocks its own vibe, but a Christmas mix broadcast on 98.1 FM pulls the entire block into one glowing, neighborhood-sized show. Hours: 5:30 to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 5:30 to 11 p.m. Friday to Sunday, until Dec. 31.
Makela Family Light Show104 W. Marco Polo Roadinstagram.com/makela.lightsThe Makela family turns pixels into pure holiday motion. Their nightly animated shows feature 30,000 synchronized lights that ripple, race and explode with color to a pulsing soundtrack. Each show feels like a concert, packed with movement, rhythm and high-voltage cheer. Hours: 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, 6 to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, through Dec. 31.
ReinDeer Valley Christmas3302 W. Adobe Dam Roadreindeervalleychristmas.comReinDeer Valley Christmas keeps getting bigger and brighter. Since 2012, this north Phoenix display has expanded with more lights and elements each season. The current setup dazzles with 70,000 LEDs, plenty of Mickey Mouse iconography and nightly music-synced shows. On weekends, bubbles and artificial snow swirl through the scene. Hours: Nightly, 6 to 10 p.m., until Jan. 1.
West Valley Christmas lights
Palacio Residence7734 N. 41st Ave.As “South Park” surges back into the pop-culture spotlight, one Phoenix superfan doubles down on his longtime devotion. Emilio Palacio’s home becomes a full-scale tribute each holiday season with more than 75 plywood characters spread across the yard, porch and rooftop. Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Scuzzlebutt, A.W.E.S.O.M.-O and dozens more stage a cartoon takeover of the property. Hours: Dusk to 11 p.m., through early January.
Phoenix Winter Wonderland4237 W. State Ave.phoenixwinterwonderland.comDavid Chuchla’s home is holiday chaos writ large. His must-see display transforms the interior and exterior into a full-on festive blitz. Outside, thousands of lights and hundreds of animated figures fill the yard. Inside, nearly every room bursts with ornaments and collectibles. Even the backyard pool is part of the spectacle. Hours: Nightly, 6 to 10 p.m. through Dec. 31.
Lewis Lights on Palmaire2901 W. Palmaire Ave.The home of Jason and Crystal Lewis glows with 40,000-plus lights, two dozen inflatables and a lineup of mega trees lighting up the yard. On Sundays, Santa and Mrs. Claus make appearances to hand out free hot cocoa and candy canes to visitors. Hours: 5:30 to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and 5:30 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, until Dec. 31.
Santa’s Castle3829 W. Sandra TerraceBill Riera’s display is pure holiday spectacle. A castle-like facade across the front of his home dominates the cheery scene, which boasts 100,000 synchronized lights, reindeer stables and Santa’s workshop. Artificial snow helps crank up the cheer. ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight” showcased the display during a recent episode. Hours: 6 to 9:30 p.m. nightly through Jan. 2.
Lights on Bluefield7625 W. Bluefield Ave., GlendaleNate Infurna and his family turn their Dutch Tudor home into one of the West Valley’s liveliest holiday extravaganzas. Santa and his reindeer soar above a scene featuring 150,000 lights, 130 blow molds and 170 hand-painted wooden Disney characters, including all 101 Dalmatians. A snow machine, Ferris wheel, carousel and even a rooftop rock concert complete the spectacle. Hours: 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and 6 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday until Dec. 31.
Laveen Christmas House8211 S. 63rd Ave., Laveenfacebook.com/laveenxmashouseIt’s impossible to miss Mel and Patti Tasker’s home during the holidays. Their drive-thru display is one of the biggest in Arizona and offers a wonderland of 300,000 multicolored LEDs, a pack of illuminated zoo animals and 500 hand-painted cutouts of comic book and cartoon characters. Hours: 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. until early January.
A Molar Christmas8252 W. Camino De Oro, Peoriafacebook.com/amolarchristmasRetired dentist Charles Gatti traded drill time for full-on holiday dazzle with his epic three-house display. It glows with 155,000 LEDs synchronized to music, leaping light arches and a 25-foot mega tree. The Grinch, Buddy the Elf and other holiday characters pop in on select nights. East Valley Christmas lights
Cox Family Lights8607 E. 55th Street Lights11802 N. 55th St., ScottsdaleFour neighboring homes on a Scottsdale cul-de-sac glow as one in a cooperative holiday display packed with 100,000 lights. Christmas on Comstock3642 E. The walkable and drivable spectacle draws big crowds nightly, so arrive patient and ready for a full neighborhood light show. Lights on Liberty Lane396 W. Liberty Lane, GilbertNight after night, this stretch of Gilbert’s Liberty Lane comes alive in perfect rhythm. Fourteen neighboring homes sync 130,000 lights into sweeping, animated displays that surge with color and motion. Choreographed audio-visual sequences play to dozens of holiday songs, turning the scene into a massive light show. Hours: Nightly, 6 to 11 p.m. through the holidays.
M&S Lights11161 E. Starkey Avenue, Mesafacebook.com/m.and.s.lightsMesa Disney supergeeks Mike and Stacie Parsons build a towering “It’s a Small World” facade outside their home each year, complete with the iconic clock face. After dark, it bursts with color during computerized light shows synced to multiple neighboring houses. The Keeleys’ Light Show1851 S. The display involves more than 25,000 LEDs dancing about the trees, arches and other decorations in their yard, accentuated by a varied soundtrack of pop, rock and even EDM. Hours: Nightly, 6 to 10 p.m. through Jan. 1. New Year’s Eve countdowns will occur at 10 p.m., 11 p.m. and midnight on Dec. 31.
Pelky Residence1335 N. Papillon Circle, MesaFor 30 years, Michael and Shelley Pelky have turned their Mesa home into a front-yard Christmas epic. Their massive annual display unfurls with Rankin-Bass characters, choirs of glowing angels, herds of reindeer and a full candy-cane forest straight out of a storybook. Hours: Nightly, 5:30 to 11 p.m. through the holidays.
Dingman Residence2329 N. Recker Road, #104, MesaKris Kringle might want to ditch the rooftop this year and touch down at Danny Dingman’s east Mesa home. Dubbed “Santa’s Runway,” the display blasts off with 65,000-plus lights, hundreds of glowing decorations and a fleet of Disney characters. There are even landing lights worthy of an airport. Hours: Nightly through Dec. 31.
Santa Rita Ranch Lights10458 E. Osage Ave., MesaMore than 20 individually decorated houses located in this southeast Valley neighborhood are linked by lights, creating a walk-through holiday experience for locals to check out. Some houses go all out, while others are more modest. It’s definitely worth the drive. Hours: Nightly starting at dusk through Jan. 1.
