Home is where the heart is. While that saying can sound a tad cliche, it is especially true for many seniors living in America. When given a choice, older adults most often prefer to grow older at home. An AARP study found that three out of four adults over the age of 50 want to stay in their homes and communities as they age.

lm-check

When you begin to think about why, it makes sense. Home offers a sense of security, comfort, and familiarity.

lm-check

The truth is, as we age, we begin to rely on others for help. When a family is too busy or lives too far away to fulfill this role, in-home senior care is often the best solution. Home care services allow seniors to enjoy personal independence while also receiving trustworthy assistance from a trained caregiver.

lm-check

At Always Best Care, we offer a comprehensive range of home care services to help seniors stay healthy while they get the help they need to remain independent. Respite Care Services

According to AARP, more than 53 million adults living in the U.S. provide care to someone over 50 years old. Unfortunately, these caregivers experience stress, exhaustion, and even depression. Our respite care services help family caregivers address urgent obligations, spend time with their children, and enjoy nearby activities. Perhaps more importantly, respite care gives family members time to recharge and regroup. Taking personal time to de-stress reduces the risk of caregiver burnout. So, if you've always wanted to eat at the local Mangiabevi Urban Italian or visit James C Nelson Park, don't feel bad. Doing so is great for both you and your loved one.

At the end of the day, our goal is to become a valuable part of your senior's daily routine. That way, we may help give them the highest quality of life possible. We know that staying at home is important for your loved one, and we are here to help make sure that is possible.

Aging in Place: The Preferred Choice for Most Seniors

While it's true that some seniors have complicated medical needs that prevent them from staying at home, aging in place is often the best arrangement for seniors and their families. With a trusted caregiver, seniors have the opportunity to live with a sense of dignity and do so as they see fit - something that is unavailable to many older people today.

In-home care makes it possible for millions of seniors to age in place every year. Rather than moving to a strange nursing home, seniors have the chance to stay at home where they feel the happiest and most comfortable.

Here are just a few of the reasons why older men and women prefer to age at home:

How much does a senior's home truly mean to them?

A study published by the American Society on Aging found that more than half of seniors say their home's emotional value means more than how much their home is worth in monetary value. It stands to reason, then, that a senior's home is where they want to grow old.

With the help of elderly care in Sterling Heights, MI, seniors don't have to age in a sterilized care facility. Instead, they can age gracefully in the place they want to be most: their home. In contrast, seniors who move to a long-term care facility must adapt to new environments, new people, and new systems that the facility implements. At this stage in life, this kind of drastic change can be more harmful than helpful.

Institutional care facilities like nursing homes often put large groups of people together to live in one location. On any given day, dozens of staff members and caregivers run in and out of these facilities. Being around so many new people in a relatively small living environment can be dangerous for a seniors' health and wellbeing. When you consider that thousands of seniors passed away in nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, opting for in-home care is often a safer, healthier choice for seniors.

Aging in place has been shown to improve seniors' quality of life, which helps boost physical health and also helps insulate them from viral and bacterial risks found in elderly living facilities.

For many seniors, the ability to live independently with assistance from a caregiver is a priceless option. With in-home care, seniors experience a higher level of independence and freedom - much more so than in other settings like a nursing home. When a senior has the chance to age in place, they get to live life on their own terms, inside the house that they helped make into a home. More independence means more control over their personal lives, too, which leads to increased levels of fulfillment, happiness, and personal gratification. Over time, these positive feelings can manifest into a healthier, longer life.

More independence, a healthier life, and increased comfort are only a few benefits of aging in place. You have to take into consideration the role of cost and convenience. Simply put, it's usually easier and more affordable to help seniors age in place than it is to move them into an institutional care facility. According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, seniors who age in the comfort of their homes can save thousands of dollars per month.

In-home care services from Always Best Care, for instance, are often less expensive than long-term solutions, which can cost upwards of six figures per year. To make matters worse, many residential care facilities are reluctant to accept long-term care insurance and other types of payment assistance.

With Always Best Care's home care services, seniors and their families have a greater level of control over their care plans. In-home care gives seniors the chance to form a bond with a trusted caregiver and also receive unmatched care that is catered to their needs. In long-term care facilities, seniors and their loved ones have much less control over their care plan and have less of a say in who provides their care.

Affordable Care

In-home care is a valuable resource that empowers seniors to age in place on their own terms. However, a big concern for many families and their loved ones is how much in-home care costs. If you're worried that in-home care is too expensive, you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that it is one of the most affordable senior care arrangements available.

Typically, hiring an Always Best Care in-home caregiver for a few hours a week is more affordable than sending your loved one to a long-term care facility. This is true even for seniors with more complex care needs.

At Always Best Care, we will work closely with you and your family to develop a Care Plan that not only meets your care needs, but your budget requirements, too. Once we discover the level of care that you or your senior need, we develop an in-home care plan that you can afford.

In addition to our flexible care options, families should also consider the following resources to help offset potential home care costs:

If your loved one qualifies, Medicaid may help reduce in-home care costs. Review your MI's Medicaid program laws and benefits, and make sure your senior's financial and medical needs meet Medicaid eligibility requirements.
Attendance and aid benefits through military service can cover a portion of the costs associated with in-home care for veterans and their spouses.
Many senior care services like in-home care are included in long-term care insurance options. Research different long-term care solutions to find a plan that provides coverage for senior care.
Home care can be included as part of a senior's private insurance plan. Read over your loved one's insurance policy carefully or speak with their insurance provider to determine if in-home care is covered.
Depending on the life insurance plan, you may be able to apply your policy toward long-term care. You may be able to use long-term-care coverage to help pay for in-home elderly care.

Compassionate Care. Trusted Caregivers.

When you or your senior loved one needs assistance managing daily tasks at home, finding a qualified caregiver can be challenging. It takes a special kind of person to provide reliable care for your senior loved one. However, a caregiver's role involves more than meal preparation and medication reminders. Many seniors rely on their caregivers for companionship, too.

Our companion care services give seniors the chance to socialize in a safe environment and engage in activities at home. These important efforts boost morale and provide much-needed relief from repetitive daily routines. A one-on-one, engaging conversation can sharpen seniors' minds and give them something in which to be excited.

At Always Best Care, we only hire care providers that we would trust to care for our own loved ones. Our senior caregivers in Sterling Heights, MI understand how important it is to listen and communicate with their seniors. A seemingly small interaction, like a short hug goodbye, can make a major difference in a senior's day. Instead of battling against feelings of isolation, seniors begin to look forward to seeing their caregiver each week.

Understanding the nuances of senior care is just one of the reasons why our care providers are so great at their job.

Unlike some senior care companies, our caregivers must undergo extensive training before they work for Always Best Care. In addition, our caregivers receive ongoing training throughout the year. This training ensures that their standard of care matches up to the high standards we've come to expect. During this training, they will brush up on their communication skills, safety awareness, and symptom spotting. That way, your loved one receives the highest level of non-medical home care from day one.

Assisted Living Referral Services

While it's true that many seniors prefer to age at home, sometimes in-home care isn't the best fit. For those seniors and their families, choosing an assisted living facility makes more sense. Unfortunately, finding the optimal care facility is easier said than done in today's day and age. That's when Always Best Care's assisted living referral services begin to make a lot of sense.

Assisted living is a form of housing intended for seniors who require varying degrees of medical and personal attention. Accommodations may include single rooms, apartments, or shared living arrangements. Assisted living communities are typically designed to resemble a home-like environment and are physically constructed to encourage the independence of residents.

Respite Care Sterling Heights, MI

At assisted living communities, seniors receive help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating. They may also benefit from coordination of services with outside healthcare providers, and monitoring of resident activities to ensure their health, safety, and well-being. Other services offered within assisted living communities can include some or all of the following:

  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry
  • Recreational Activities
  • Social Outings
  • Emergency Medical Response
  • Medication Monitoring

On a stretch of the busy M-59/Hall Road corridor, Sterling Heights is the place to be.

Michigan’s first Jollibee location is making its debut, opening in the front perimeter of Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights.

It followed a pre-opening blessing a day earlier that involved the Filipino tradition of tossing coins and candy to bring good fortune and prosperity and a big bucket of chicken, said Nick Bedell, Jollibee's North American marketing director.

And despite reports of a forthcoming snowy forecast, Bedell expected crowds.

“I've been to openings where people have camped out overnight in the snow,” he said. “We do expect to have a line most of the day tomorrow. When the first person will show up is anyone's guess. But I would guess it will be in the wee hours of the morning, if not earlier.”

The chain's new Sterling Heights location, a former Denny's, according to the Macomb Daily, was first announced in late 2021.

Choosing Sterling Heights, Bedell says, came about after the company eyed metro Detroit in general.

“It (Sterling Heights) is easily accessible and there’s a lot of restaurants in the area,” he said.

On opening day, the first 100 customers who spend $20 or more will get a free six-piece Chickenjoy each month for a year, from February 2024 to January 2025, according to a Facebook post. On its Day 2 opening, the first 100 customers who spend $20 or more will receive a free Jollibee Beanie. And on the third day, the first 100 customers who spend $20 or more will receive a free Jollibee tote bag.

What’s the hype?

At Jollibee, it’s all about “Chickenjoy” the chain’s signature hand-breaded fried chicken and Jolly spaghetti.

The Chickenjoy fried chicken, available in dark and white meat pieces, has a light breading. It’s nicely crisp and juicy. It’s always served with brown gravy, which has a good flavor and is not salty, for dipping.

You can choose from two or three pieces of chicken with a drink for $10.49-$14.99, according to the menu. There’s also the six-piece chicken bucket for $15.99 or with sides for $19.99. Jollibee also has an original or spicy crispy chicken sandwich ($5.49) consisting of a breaded breast fillet that’s hearty and served on a brioche bun. The spicy chicken sandwich has jalapenos and a slathering of sriracha mayo. The original has an umami mayo.

New to the overall Jollibee menu are sides of mashed potatoes and gravy and a creamy, house-made mac and cheese.

Jollibee is also known for its peach mango pies ($2.99).

The pies, Bedell said are the signature dessert item and are made with Philippine mangoes.

Jollibee's other hyped and popular menu item, the Jolly Spaghetti, was not available during our Thursday preview.

What is Jollibee?

The brand started in the Philippines and the recipes, Bedell says, are recipes of the founding family.

“So, we do encourage people to try the fried chicken and the chicken sandwiches because we think those are so easy to fall in love with, but a lot of people come in and do say the Jolly Spaghetti is their favorite.”

Jollibee Foods brand, founded in 1978, now operates more than 1,400 locations in countries across the globe. It’s often called the “McDonald’s of the Philippines.” The chain entered the U.S. in 1998 with its first location in California and now has more than 70 nationwide, according to its website. Jollibee in Sterling Heights is at 44945 Woodridge Drive. The restaurant will be open 9 a.m.-10 p.m. daily for dine-in, takeout, and drive-thru service.

As Jollibee is approaching 100 North American stores for the brand, Bedell said the company goal is to become the fifth-largest restaurant company in the world.

While Bedell didn’t have information about future specific Michigan locations, he noted that there was a lot of demand for this location that will “obviously serve as a test to some extent.”

“I don't think there's any doubt that there will be more places that we can place them in Michigan going forward,” Bedell said.

The Sterling Heights location will not open with its burgers on the menu or online ordering to start, both will come later.

This Sterling Heights location has dining-in options and double drive-thru lanes. Jollibee's Orlando, Florida, is the only other location to have double drive-thru lanes.

“Everyone likes access to downtowns and town centers, right?” said Sterling Heights City Manager Mark Vanderpool. “You don't want to just be able to get there by automobile. You want it to be accessible through public transportation, through pedestrian and other non-motorized transportation networks.”

The project is in the design phase. Jason Castor, Sterling Heights' development director, said he expects construction to begin in 2024, perhaps in the summer or the fall. It will be a 12-foot wide, paved path funded with American Rescue Plan money.

The trail will be built next to ITC Michigan electric transmission lines and will stretch from Edison Street to Hall Road, he said. Near the northern end of the trail, there will be a spur, or branch, heading west to Schoenherr Road, then to Lakeside Town Center.

The center, which is in the planning stages, has been expected to include more than 2,800 multi-family apartments; nearly 150,000 square feet of retail and dining; 60,000 square feet of office space; a 120-room hotel; and a park.

The city is collaborating with engineering firm Hubbell, Roth & Clark on the design work for the path. The firm is currently surveying the ITC corridor. Castor said the city also plans to improve the Edison Street trailhead area.

Sterling Heights Councilman Michael Radtke Jr. said the new trail will be “a net benefit” for the region and the people of Sterling Heights. He said pathways that are accessible to homes are good for people’s health and raise property values.

Pat Mitchell, who lives in a condominium community that will border the trail, said at the Nov. 7 City Council meeting that she had heard the path would take down a lot of trees. She noted that it’s “a beautiful forest there.”

“I’m just asking that you reconsider and put this back into the" ITC corridor "where it will not disturb the forest or the wildlife,” she said, adding that she isn’t opposed to the path.

Castor said the city isn’t looking to “go through and clear out the forests and trees that are there.” He said there’s a cow path behind Mitchell’s community and the city is looking to put the new trail in that area.

“It’s possible that there will be some tree removals, but it is not a wholesale removal of all the trees out there,” he said, adding that the city will replant trees. Vanderpool said that when the city replants trees, the new ones are typically more desirable species than the old ones.

Castor expects the design plans for the trail to be finalized in early 2024.

The latest fast-food frenzy in town is the new Jollibee restaurant on Hall Road in Sterling Heights.

Opening Friday, management is expecting long lines of fried chicken fans — it's called "chickenjoy" on the menu — for walk-up orders and the two-lane drive-thru. There are tents and heaters to help with the weather, and customers can also expect a visit from the Jollibee mascot, a smiling red bee with a chef's hat.

Based on family recipes, the brand was founded by now-billionaire Tony Tan Caktiong as a small ice cream shop in Manila and has grown to 1,500 locations worldwide, with most restaurants in Asia and more than 70 in the United States.

Often called the "McDonald's of the Philippines" — although it's much more comparable to Kentucky Fried Chicken — Jollibee has made a big push for expansion in recent years. This Sterling Heights location is the first in Michigan, and while no information about additional locations have been announced, it's assumed that the brand plans to grow around here.

"We were really looking in the Detroit area first and foremost and I think this will be a great testing ground to decide how else we can expand in the area," said Jollibee marketing director Nick Bedell. "I think this area in particular is interesting because it has a good amount of traffic, there's a lot of restaurants and a good amount of activity, so all those kinds of things make this a really ideal spot for us."

The first 100 people in line on Friday's opening day will get free "chickenjoy" each month for a year. The first 100 customers on Saturday and Sunday will get a free Jollibee beanie and Jollibee tote bag, respectively. Customers must spend $20 or more to be eligible for the giveaways.

Here's everything you need to know about the new Jollibee, the first in Michigan.

Where is the new Jolliebee?

It's at 44945 Woodridge in Sterling Heights, off of Hall Road, within eyeshot of the city's "Golden Ring" and other popular fast food chains like Portillo's, Chick-fil-A and Shake Shack. It'll be open daily for dine-in and drive-thru, and online ordering will be coming shortly.

What's on the menu?

The menu at the Sterling Heights Jollibee is similar to the others in the United States. Customers can choose chickenjoy meals with one or two sides and two or three pieces, with or without a soft drink for $8.49-$14.99. Get a six-piece bucket for $15.99, or $19.99 with two sides. Feed a small group for $34.99 that includes a six-piece bucket, family pack of spaghetti and three pies.

Chicken sandwiches are $5.49 and sides run $2.69-$3.99. The spaghetti is offered as a combo with a piece of chicken and a drink for $9.99 or as a family pack for $16.99. There's also burger steaks, peach mango pies and soft drinks.

There's precious little here for vegans and those who are on gluten-free diets. Try the steamed rice, $2.69 per side order.

Why are people so excited?

Similar to when Chick-Fil-A, Shake Shack and Chicken Guy opened their first stores in the area, people like to line up to be the first to try something. The closest Jollibee's to Metro Detroit are in the greater Chicago and Toronto areas, which is a bit far for a bucket of crispy chicken.

There's also excitement because of branding and the food. Jollibee focuses on a "joyful" and cheerful energy, and it's unique in the sense that, while the flavors are geared toward the average American palate, it offers things that we typically don't see at fast food restaurants in the United States like adobo rice, spaghetti with a sweet sauce and mango-peach pies.

"Tomorrow is going to be a little bit of a party, a little bit of chaos ... it's going to be a lot of fun. We do expect a line all day long," said Bedell at a media preview Thursday, adding that early birds may get some swag like a tote bag or T-shirt.

How does it taste?

Both the pieces of fried chicken and the fried chicken sandwiches have light breading, crispy skin and juicy white and dark meat. The chicken pieces come with a pourable brown gravy, a buttery and savory favorite that has sparked many copycat recipes online. You'll find the same gravy on the mashed potatoes, which are smooth and fluffy.

The traditional chicken sandwich is a thick and tender breast fillet with a creamy, umami-rich mayonnaise on a brioche bun, and that's it. The spicy version isn't knock-your-socks off hot, and uses sriracha mayo and bright green, sliced jalapeno peppers. These are great-tasting sandwiches for the price ($5.49) and can likely hold their own against any other fast-food fried chicken sandwich.

Of the sides we tried, the macaroni and cheese is the most interesting. The baked dish has a crust on top and tastes like noodles with cheddar cheese, not mystery fast-food style "cheese sauce." The biscuits are flaky and a bit crispy, not super-soft or greasy.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to sample the spaghetti at Thursday's media preview, but we understand it is a sweeter sauce than your average marinara. Other sweet treats on the menu are the signature "pineapple quencher," a non-carbonated pineapple-flavored soft drink, and the mango peach pie with a hot, chunky and fruity filling encased in a flaky crust, similar to a McDonald's apple pie.

Overall, it's still fast food, of course, but it does stand up to its tagline of "next-level crispy, next-level juicy" and there is something joyful about the comforting flavors and friendly atmosphere.

A Sterling Heights woman is looking forward to helping her family after winning a $100,000 Powerball prize from the Michigan Lottery.

Vy Uong, 26, matched four white balls and the Powerball – 34-50-51-61-67, PB: 20 – in the Nov. 18 drawing to win a $50,000 prize. Thanks to the Power Play, the prize was multiplied to $100,000. She bought her winning ticket at the 7-Eleven, located at 4191 15 Mile Road in Sterling Heights.

“My dad and I like to play the Lottery together, so every once in a while, one of us will stop and buy some tickets,” said Uong. “I bought a few Powerball tickets and gave them to my dad to check the day after the drawing. When he told me I won $100,000, I thought he was joking. When he showed me the ticket and the winning numbers, I was so happy! I still can’t believe that this is real.”

Uong recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. With her winnings, she plans to help her family.

Powerball plays may be purchased for $2 each at Lottery retailers across the state and online at MichiganLottery.com. A “Power Play” option that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times to a maximum of $2 million may be added to any Powerball play for only $1. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Powerball ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $10 million in the nightly Double Play drawing.

The Powerball drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and may be watched live online at: http://www.powerball.com. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.

A Kent County educator known for creating engaging lessons for her students has been honored with an Excellence In Education award from the Michigan Lottery.

The award winner, Ashleigh Sutton, teaches Social Studies and Exploratory Geography at Kent City Middle School. The school is part of Kent City Community Schools.

The Michigan Lottery established the Excellence In Education awards in 2014 to recognize outstanding public-school educators across the state during the school year.

Winners of the weekly award receive a $2,000 cash prize. At the end of the school year, one of the weekly award winners will be selected to receive the Lottery’s Educator of the Year award and will receive a $10,000 cash prize.

Each winner also is featured in a news segment on the Lottery’s media partner stations: WXYZ-TV in Detroit, FOX 17 in Grand Rapids, FOX 47 in Lansing, WNEM-TV in Saginaw, and WWTV-TV in Traverse City. The news segment featuring Sutton will air this evening.

Sutton says her desire for a career that would allow her to make a difference led her to a career in education.

“I started a career in finance right out of high school but was unhappy and unfulfilled. I spent the next four years trying to figure out what I wanted to do the rest of my life. I knew I wanted to do something to help others and make a difference. After many years and many classes, I decided to pursue a career in education and left my career in finance to be a Social Studies teacher.”

Sutton says her favorite activities to do with students are historical simulations, geographic information system (GIS) labs, and Dungeons and Dragons club.

“My favorite activities in seventh grade are our historical simulations. We have been wealthy landowners along the Silk Road, solved the cold case mystery of Julius Ceasar’s death, and we have fought in phalanxes as Persians and Athenians.

“My favorite activities in sixth grade are our GIS labs. Students use the ArcGIS platform to map data layers. We use this information to find spatial patterns and connections to help us solve geographical problems. At the end of the year students create their own map stories about problems they would like to solve. I love seeing my students empower themselves to make a difference in the world.

“I host a middle school Dungeons and Dragons club after school which allows students to come into my classroom and be themselves. We pretend and make up characters and let our imaginations go crazy. When students feel safe to be themselves, they grow in the most amazing of ways.”

Sutton was nominated for the award by a colleague.

“Ashleigh has been going above and beyond this school year in more ways than one. She works hard to create engaging lessons for students that push their thinking and keep them hooked on the content. Ashleigh is the high school varsity cheer coach in the fall, and she also runs Dungeons and Dragons club for middle school students after school. Throughout the months of February and March, she has made it a point to create bulletin boards in her classroom and the hallway for students to learn and celebrate Black History Month and Women’s History Month. Additionally, Ashleigh set up a Women’s History Month poster scavenger hunt throughout the school for students to learn and earn prizes.

“Ashleigh is an amazing educator who has been putting in the work and effort to build long lasting relationships with her students and fellow staff members. Kent City Schools is lucky to have such an amazing teacher.”

Sutton earned a bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University and is currently attending Eastern Michigan University to earn her master’s degree in Reading and Teacher Education. She has been an educator for two years, both in her current position.

Excellence in Education award nominees are evaluated on the following criteria:

Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the Michigan Lottery contributed more than $1.3 billion to the fund in 2023, marking the fifth consecutive year the agency’s contribution has topped $1 billion.

“The Michigan Lottery’s fifth-straight contribution of more than $1 billion to our state’s School Aid Fund will improve education outcomes and support students,” said Governor Whitmer. “In addition to investing in our schools, each Lottery ticket purchase also supports local businesses, building on our economic momentum. With about 97 cents of each dollar spent on the Lottery returned to Michiganders in the form of contributions to the School Aid Fund, prizes, and commissions to local vendors and retailers, the Lottery makes a real difference for communities across Michigan. Congratulations to the Lottery team on another successful year.”

Since 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $28 billion to the School Aid Fund, which supports public education programs throughout Michigan. In each of the last five fiscal years, the Lottery has contributed more than $1 billion to the School Aid Fund, totaling more than $6.2 billion in contributions over that five-year span.

Lottery retailers in Michigan were paid more than $350 million in commissions in FY23. Since FY19, when the Lottery’s streak of billion-dollar contributions to the School Aid Fund began, retailers have earned nearly $1.7 billion in commissions. Lottery products are sold at more than 10,000 locations across Michigan, including both independently owned businesses and large chains. In 2023, nearly 600 retailers sold $1 million or more in Lottery games.

For the third consecutive year, Lottery players in Michigan collected more than $3 billion in prizes. Since the Lottery began in 1972, players have collected more than $50 billion in prizes.

“The Lottery’s contribution of $1.3 billion to the School Aid Fund provides a critical source of financial support for public schools throughout Michigan,” said acting Lottery Commissioner, Jessica Weare. “Continuing the incredible streak of billion-dollar contributions to the School Aid Fund is a testament to the hard work and ingenuity of the entire Lottery team, the dedication of our retailers and vendors, and the support of Lottery players.”

The Lottery is also committed to promoting responsible gaming. Michigan was the first state lottery to receive certification of its online program through the National Council on Problem Gambling and has also attained Responsible Gaming Verification through the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries. Responsible gaming information and resources are available on the Lottery’s website at: www.michiganlottery.com/responsible-gaming.

For each dollar spent on a Michigan Lottery ticket in FY23, approximately: • 61 cents went to players as prizes • 27 cents went to the School Aid Fund to support public education • 9 cents went to commissions for retailers and vendors • 3 cents funded the Lottery’s operations and administrative costs

Under state law, all profits from the Lottery go to the School Aid Fund. Audited financial results and the Lottery’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report are expected to be available early next year.
