PLEASANT HILL, CA (June 11, 2025) — The Pleasant Hill Community is invited to attend two upcoming events, one celebrating Juneteenth, and the other a celebration of Pride Month. Details on the events are below:
Juneteenth Celebration 6/19/25
June 19, 1865 commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, when over 250,000 enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, were freed, nearly three years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation by President Lincoln. . In June, 2021, Juneteenth was recognized as a U.S. Federal Holiday. The City of Pleasant Hill honors and recognizes our African American community and invite all to join the City in celebrating Juneteenth.
In Pleasant Hill, the City’s Diversity Commission is partnering with Off the Grid to hold a community party for Juneteenth on June 19, 2025 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. at City Hall, 100 Gregory Lane.
During the evening, participants can get dinner from the outstanding food trucks of Off the Grid, who will be lined up all along Trelany Rd. In addition there will be a number of vendor and activity booths across the grounds. Organizations providing booths include the Diversity Commission, Civic Action Commission, Orange Theory Fitness, Mackenzie Lee Foster, The West Coast Chess Alliance, Valley View Middle School PTSA, The Miles Hall Foundations, and Branches.
Attendees will also be able to enjoy performances by Unique Derique, Princess Tiana, Peaceful Warriors, and a live music show from The Joint Chiefs from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Off the Grid Pride Night 6/26/25
Commemorating June 2025 as Pride Month, the Pleasant Hill Diversity Commission is again partnering with Off the Grid to have an evening dedicated to the City’s LGBTQIA+ community.
From 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. the community is invited to come to City Hall, 100 Gregory Lane to an enjoy an evening of food, music, and Pride themed activity booths. Groups providing booths for the event this year include:

While strolling the booths or having dinner, attendees will be able to listen to the music of The Dream Tellers.
Both events help spread the message that Pleasant Hill is committed to being a place of inclusivity, where everyone belongs.
