ATLANTA — There are two days left in what's been a record-setting early voting period in Georgia.
In those two days, it's likely the Peach State will see its turnout among active voters reach the halfway point.

As of the start of Thursday, October 31, the state election data hub shows that total turnout is just shy of 3.5 million voters -- or 48.2% of the state's more than 7.2 million registered voters considered "active" (if you've voted or otherwise been in contact with the election system in the last five years).
Just roughly 131,000 more votes will get Georgia to 50% before Election Day -- and usually the final days of the early voting see another surge as voters scramble to get to the polls so they aren't left with no choice but to get out on Election Day.
In the meantime, it will be important for voters who have used absentee ballots to make sure their votes count. Georgia election official Gabriel Sterling, in an update from the Secretary of State's Office on Wednesday, noted that you can make sure your ballot processed by logging into the My Voter Page.
If you mailed it and it never arrived, your MVP page would let you know that. You can still at that point go vote in person and have your absentee ballot canceled.
There are also cases where absentee votes may not yet be processed due to varying kinds of errors - say you didn't sign your ballot, for example. At that point you are allowed to go to your local elections office and "cure" your ballot -- basically, fix whatever mistake may exist and have your vote counted.
As of Thursday morning, the sate data hub lists almost 215,000 absentee ballots returned of the more than 342,000 that were issued. That means more than 127,000 absentee votes potentially still outstanding.
If you received an absentee ballot, do note that it's too late to get it into the mail and be sure it will arrive on time. At this point, anyone with an absentee ballot planning to cast it -- and, again, your other option is to just go to a polling site, cancel your absentee ballot, and vote in person -- is urged to do so at a drop box.
You have to check your local county elections site for drop box locations.
Ballots that get put in the mail at this point will likely not arrive by the close of polls on Election Day, which is the deadline for them to be received (there is no front-end deadline for when to send in Georgia, but the back-end deadline for when it has to get there by means you would have needed to already mail your ballot in to be sure it would get there on time.)

ATLANTA — The annual Georgia-Florida game will soon be coming back to the Peach State -- but not quite all the way to Athens.
The longstanding SEC rivalry game will be moving locations for two years -- in 2026 and 2027 -- while the game's current stadium location, TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, undergoes renovations.
That means that the Georgia-Florida game will now be coming to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in 2026 and Raymond James Stadium in Tampa in 2027, according to reports.
One of college football's greatest traditions, the Georgia-Florida game has been played in Jacksonville since 1933, outside of the '94 and '95 seasons, while they were building TIAA Bank Field -- the stadium that hosts the game now.

There has been previous debate on whether the game that's almost always been played in Jacksonville could move to each school's on-campus stadiums.
In the past few seasons, many people have taken to social media to express their desire for the game to move to each team's on-campus stadium -- meaning in alternating seasons, the game would be played at Sanford Stadium in Athens and Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville.
However, money plays a big-time role in these decisions and likely factored into why this game moved to two different neutral site locations in 2026 and 2027.
The most recent agreement kept the rivalry game in Jacksonville through this year's 2023 season, but the teams reached an agreement to keep it in the city through 2025 in June of last year.
"Jacksonville has been the proud home of the Georgia-Florida game since 1933," Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry said in 2022. "We are excited to welcome back thousands of Dawgs and Gators to Jacksonville in 2024 and 2025. I want to thank the University of Georgia and University of Florida for their continued faith and investment in our city."
So, for now, the game will be in Jacksonville until 2025. But that leaves the window open for a longstanding tradition to potentially change in the future. As traction for the movement heats up, maybe we'll get a new tradition between the Hedges and in The Swamp after the 2027 season.

The former First Lady of the United States spoke to perspective voters in College Park, Ga., for a “When We All Vote” event.
For the occasion, Obama favored an elevated take on casual attire, wearing a cream-colored crocheted R13 sleeveless cable-knit vest with frayed elements at the neckline, sleeves and hemline. She styled the look with wide-leg jeans per the brand’s description, which said the vest evokes “grunge and rock ‘n’ roll with its heavy distressing. It’s cable-knitted from cotton in ‘boyfriend’ proportions that look great with wide jeans or a ’90s kilt.”
