A local favorite for years in Chews Landing, Coppola Pizza has TWO additional new locations opening in April; Barrington and Somerdale.
The latest addition comes as likely a surprise to everyone as we just learned from owner Salvatore that he is taking over the G&G Pizza location on the White Horse Pike in Somerdale.
Located directly across the street from Amy’s Omelet house, the new Coppola Pizza location is a unique building featuring an all-glass dining area and large covered patios on either side.
The new signage is already up, and Salvatore tells 42Freeway they are targeting an opening on April 23rd.
The pizzeria building was already in good shape so the Coppola team is doing small changes such as new tables and chairs and other cosmetic changes… but of course bringing in their amazing menu and pizza to the busy White Horse Pike commercial corridor.
Additionally, back in September we reported on a new Coppola location coming to Barrington New Jersey.
While that location is smaller than the Somerdale new location, it has required more significant upgrades and has taking a longer time to develop.
The Barrington location was most recently home to Slice pizza, and is located on Clements Bridge Road in a small strip of stores (intersection of Williams Ave)

Another surprise to the Coppola story is that not many may know that this but second generation owner Salvatore Coppola was a contestant on top chef reality show Hell’s Kitchen back in 2010… yes the Gordon Ramsay hosted show!
Sal was a fan favorite on Season 7 of Hell’s Kitchen… with fans connecting to his honesty, open personality and humor. “Not only is he a cool guy and a chef with a big heart, but also a fighter”
As mentioned the Coppola family has been preparing amazing meals for loyal South Jersey customers for around 40 years at their Gloucester Township location.
According to an article in The Patch (2012) the family has operated a restaurant in Gloucester Township since the 1980s, and in 1996 moved to the current Chews Landing Market place location (ShopRite)… creating delicious pizza, sandwiches and Italian specialties for a loyal customer base.
While Coppola Pizza doesn’t really maintain an online presence, their Chews Landing location has been featured by customers at Facebook town and foodie group (such as South Jersey Food Scene) with positive comments like those below:
