Personal Care Services

  • 24-Hour Care
Always Best Care helps you find the perfect round-the-clock in-home care plan to fit your loved one’s circumstances and needs. 24-hour care is support that is available to anyone who needs extra help to carry on living at home. It can include help with shopping, cooking, cleaning, washing, dressing and all other daily tasks. The need for 24-hour care can be prompted by accident, illness, dementia, frailty, disability, or frailty caused by the aging process.
  • Bathing, Grooming
    & Dressing
Bathing, dressing and grooming play a large role in a senior’s daily routines. Maintaining good personal hygiene can be vital in preventing sickness, while dressing can impact an elderly individual’s self-esteem. Grooming and dressing are integral to the activities of daily living.
  • Cognitive Impairments
Cognitive impairment is not an illness, but a description of someone’s condition. It means they have trouble with things like memory or paying attention. They might have trouble speaking or understanding. And they might have difficulty recognizing people, places or things, and might find new places or situations overwhelming.
  • Companionship
Companionship care is primarily emotional support and companionship for seniors who are generally healthy and who want to remain independent at home.
  • Errands & Transportation
Help with errands, shopping, and transportation falls under the category of Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs). These skills are necessary in order to live independently and that all of us do once we are up, out of bed, dressed, and ready to start our day. Transportation services for seniors can help maintain a level of independence without the need for the senior to drive themselves.
  • Escort to Activities
Escorting a senior to activities can help them if they feel unsafe or uncomfortable in public without accompaniment. Many trips are often used to assist seniors to utilize the services of health professionals and agencies that they otherwise would not be able to access.
  • Hospice
    Support / End-of-Life
Hospice care is for people who are nearing the end of life. The services are provided by a team of health care professionals who maximize comfort for a person who is terminally ill by reducing pain and addressing physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.
  • Hospital to Home
Following a discharge from the hospital, the first three days are critical. During this time frame and beyond, the support given to a senior and their family play a vital role in the recovery process at home. A hospital-to-home program offers a comprehensive and flexible solution that can provide the physical and emotional support needed to recover safely and comfortably.
  • Incontinence / Toileting
There are several types of incontinence, which include overflow incontinence, transient incontinence, stress incontinence, urge incontinence, and knowing a little about the different types can help the caretaker and the family make the best decisions about what levels of toileting assistance should be included in the care plan of their loved one.
  • Laundry Services
For seniors, laundry can be a challenge. As people age, they may have less energy and stamina. One of the biggest benefits of laundry services is that they can help seniors stay independent. Laundry services can also help keep seniors healthy by ensuring the are wearing clean clothing.
  • Light Housekeeping
Light housekeeping includes things like watering the plants, dusting of surfaces and knickknacks, as well as picking up newspapers, magazines and other clutter. It includes emptying the trash, vacuuming and sweeping of main walk areas. It can also include organizing drawers, shelves and closets. In a nutshell light housekeeping is completing the specific tasks required to tidy up areas that a client uses. Examples of what a light housekeeping service does not include are heavy-duty cleaning tasks that require moving heavy furniture, washing windows, cleaning carpets, or scrubbing floors. Nor does it cover outside chores, such as shoveling snow off sidewalks, raking, or mowing the grass.
  • Live-In Care
Live-in care is for seniors who need around-the-clock assistance from a caregiver. Assistance is generally non-medical and includes such tasks as medication management, shopping, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADL). Though caregivers sleep at the senior’s residence, they generally aren’t required for assistance at night.
  • Meal Preparation
Meal preparation and eating healthy and nutritional food is important for seniors. Meal preparation assistance for the elderly is not just about cooking, but involves so much more. Maintaining a regular and consistent schedule can also play a role in emotional and physical health.
  • Medication Reminders
Medication reminders are a nonmedical service provided by a caregiver or a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). CNAs do not administer medications, or speak with a doctor or pharmacist about a senior’s medicine or regime—but they do ensure medication safety and regularity.
  • Mobility
Mobility is the ability to move or walk freely and easily — is critical for functioning well and living independently. As we age, we may experience changes to our mobility. There are many reasons for these changes, including changes in gait (how we walk), balance, and physical strength.
  • Nutrition Monitoring
Nutrition is an important element of health in the older population and affects the aging process. The prevalence of malnutrition is increasing in this population and is associated with a decline in functional status, impaired muscle function, decreased bone mass, immune dysfunction, anemia, reduced cognitive function, poor wound healing, delayed recovery from surgery, higher hospital readmission rates, and mortality.
  • Overnight Care
Overnight care revolves around a multitude of services which may include help using the restroom in the middle of the night, providing fluids and snacks in the evening, and assisting with preparing for bed. Elderly individuals may also receive help with transfer assistance throughout the night. Overnight caregivers can also prepare breakfast and offer morning care.
  • Safety Supervision
Because more accidents occur inside the home than anywhere else, seniors and their caregivers must do everything in their power to make sure their homes are as safe and secure as possible. Some of the steps that can be taken to ensure homes are safe for seniors and their families include removing clutter, adding better lighting, rearranging cabinets and drawers, and assessing the safety risks of the bathroom.
  • Technology Assistance
Technology can help the elderly live independently for longer by facilitating preventive care, early detection of, and response to, emerging health issues, as well as timely support for daily tasks. Technology offers a wide range of benefits to older adults. Seniors who use technology can also feel more connected to others, can be better engaged in the community and world around them, and be more informed about current events.

“Always Best Care has been wonderful. The caregivers are kind, compassionate, and consistent. My loved one loves each one of them. They work to make sure everyone is happy, safe, and taken care of based on individual needs and tailored tune schedules. They are also very responsible making sure that they have someone to cover the times and days agreed upon. It is so comforting to have peace of mind that my parent’s needs will be closely monitored and met!”

“Sarah and her team at Always Best Care have been phenomenal working with 2 families whom I referred. She customized a plan for both of them and it has had a very positive impact on each of the families. There is so much pressure on spouses and children to do something they aren’t trained for. The person who needs the help is embarrassed and frustrated and the care giver does their best and sometimes it’s just not good enough. Enter—ABC. I would HIGHLY recommend them if you need help, short-term or long.”

“I can’t say enough wonderful things about Jeden and Tracy at Always Best Care. They were both incredibly kind, respectful, compassionate, and truly went above and beyond for my father and our family. Jeden was absolutely exceptional. Her kindness, patience, and genuine care made such a difference during a difficult time. She treated my father with dignity, respect, and compassion every step of the way. If I could hire Jeden full time to care for my father, I would do it without question. Tracy was equally amazing, always helpful, attentive, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was taken care of. Their dedication and professionalism gave our family such peace of mind. Always Best Care is incredibly fortunate to have both Jeden and Tracy on their team. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for compassionate, dependable, and outstanding care.”

TESTIMONIALS

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Always Best Care Home Health Services, and especially Sarah Peaceful, the owner/operator. During one of the most stressful and emotionally overwhelming periods of my life, I found myself in urgent need of 24/7 care for my father. Sarah stepped in immediately and went above and beyond in every possible way. She met with me after hours to truly understand our situation—not just my father’s medical needs, but who he was as a person. She took the time to learn about his personality, the dynamics within our home, and even the different personalities of those involved in his care so she could thoughtfully match him with caregivers who would be the right fit. The caregivers Sarah selected were exceptional. They treated my father with dignity, kindness, patience, and genuine compassion. They prepared meals, provided companionship, assisted with bathing and personal care, monitored medications, and kept a watchful eye over his overall well-being. Just as importantly, they supported me through an incredibly difficult chapter of my life. Knowing my father was in capable and caring hands gave me something I desperately needed at that time: peace of mind. Sarah’s professionalism, responsiveness, empathy, and unwavering dedication are truly remarkable. It is rare to encounter someone who leads with both such competence and such heart. I will be forever grateful to Sarah and the entire team at Always Best Care for the comfort, support, and exceptional care they provided to my father and myself. I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone seeking compassionate, personalized home care services for a loved one.”

“My family had a wonderful experience with Always Best Care and we cannot say enough good things about the compassionate and professional team who helped my father during the last few weeks of his life. During that time, our needs were almost constantly changing and Sarah Peaceful was able to get all the pieces to fall into place everytime, sometimes within hours. Sarah was always responsive and personally involved. She made sure my dads needs were met and was with us every step of the way. Sarah went above and beyond for us. The nurses also treated my dad with incredible kindness, respect, and especially patience. This alone gave me peace of mind knowing he was in very good hands. We are so grateful for the care, professionalism, and genuine compassion that Always Best Care provided. I highly recommend them to any family looking for reliable, caring in-home care.”

TESTIMONIALS

“In my working life I was in health care and helped patients to think about and arrange in-home care for themselves, so when it came to be my turn to be in health crisis, I knew what to look for in caregiving agencies. I am very pleased with how Always Best Care prioritized my goals and needs as I was recovering from a very debilitating episode (autumn/winter of 2025) of illness. Caregivers Shotoya, Margaret, Monica and Ronisha were so kind and gentle but also had a spark of fun in them which encouraged me a lot during this very scary and difficult time in my life. They cheered me on as I did my daily physical therapy, went on walks with me (we talked and laughed on those walks!) There was a time when a caregiver was, at the last minute, unable to come to my home; when the branch owner, Sara Peaceful, was not able to arrange a substitute, Sara came to my home **herself** to take care of me! Her philosophy of fully taking ownership of responsibility for my care made me feel very confident while I was in a very vulnerable situation. I am grateful to G-d that I have recovered quite well and no longer need the lovely Always Best Care caregivers, but if I do need caregivers in the future, I will not hesitate to once again contact Sara Peaceful and Akways Best Care. I encourage you to do the same, whether it is you or a loved one or a friend who needs in-home caregivers. Illness/injury/aging are stressful just by themselves, and Always Best Care can give you the same peace of mind and confidence and optimism that I experienced with them!”

“From the start, once we spoke with Sarah with Always Best Care, our lives have been so much more easier! Sarah is a joy to speak with & she knows her business! She matched us up with Andrea, who goes by Annie, & she has helped all three of us in our household. My husband was in the hospital for 1 1/2 years & is having to learn how to walk again & he requires a lot of assistance. He’s now on dialysis & gets treatment Monday – Friday. Andrea help us 3 days a week with taking him to dialysis & back, which used to make me insane because the RTC RIDES that were scheduled for him to be at his dialysis appointment at 9am would come late several times. One time they showed up 2 hour’s afterwards! So I never knew if I had to take him instead? Annie would come back to our house to help me with taking care of my 79 year old brother who lives with us. She helps with cleaning, laundry, making breakfast & or lunch. She even pre made dinner for us one day & let me tell you it was very satisfying. ???? Later she goes & picks my husband back up once he’s finished. My stress levels have changed immensely since Annie has been in our lives. Thank you so much❣️”

“Sarah and her team of caregivers were incredible. Sarah was always responsive and was very flexible on hours, days and preferences. Having strangers in your parents house and taking care of an elderly person brings some anxiety and some concern. Once we got a few days “under our belt” we were very comfortable with her staff coming in to the house and ensuring incredible treatment. There was never an instance where “no” was given to any request. Highly recommend.”

“You/your loved one will truly be in the best hands with Always Best Care. I highly recommend Sarah and her team. My grandfather made the decision to hire a care assistant (I’m probably using the wrong term) a little over a year ago and he ended up being paired with Joe who is an absolute angel. Our family is so grateful for the care and professionalism shown by Joe and Sarah. Sadly, my grandfather passed away recently but he had nothing but great things to say about Joe and never had a complaint (that’s saying something because he was a hard person to please). Joe helped my grandfather with his appointments, errands, meals, tidying up and so much more. My grandfather was very particular about his routine and how he wanted things done and Joe picked all that up in a couple of days. I worked with Sarah a lot on the back end with scheduling/billing and she is wonderful to work with. She truly understood our needs before we knew what we needed and would make herself available 24/7 if I needed something. Making sure your loved one receives the best care possible is so easy and stress free with Always Best Care, Sarah and Joe. Myself and my family are so happy to have found them.”

“I have never written a recommendation for anyone, but if I could give Sarah a six or seven-star recommendation I would do so. My elderly sister has begun to suffer a rapid decline due to various forms of dementia. Finding Sarah has been nothing short of providence. She immediately took command of the situation with a remarkable empathy, patience, and unshakable diligence that literally transformed my sister’s life and that of our family. Sarah has been available 24-7. The caretakers she has organized to stay with my sister mirror her commitment and understanding. I am not a particularly religious person, but God bless Sarah. Knowing that my sister is safe, secure, happy – her days filled with tender companionship – is simply priceless. Thank you, Sarah. We are forever grateful.”

FAQs About In Home Care Services

Female-Caregiver-Mobile Female-Caregiver-Desktop

Always Best Care provides services for people who prefer to stay at home but need ongoing care that cannot easily be provided by their family or friends. More and more older adults prefer to live independent, non-institutionalized lives, and in-home care is a safe, effective way to provide care in the comfort of one’s own home.

The answer depends on the type of care, the location of care and the level of care that is needed. At Always Best Care we provide a no obligation care consultation and provide advice on many options for paying for home care for your loved one.

Our company vision is to work as a united team providing the best senior care in the world, with the broadest range of services, and the most loving and consistent care anywhere. We are dedicated to exceeding your expectations…always

Your Care Coordinator will work with you and your loved one to select the best qualified caregiver for each client. They will carefully review your care plan and try to match the right caregiver with the specific needs of each client. Our goal is to make sure that you and your loved one are completely satisfied with our service and we will bend over backwards to make this happen.

Every Always Best Care location employs all their caregivers, so extensive background and reference checks are conducted. Caregivers are insured for your safety and they all receive extensive training upon being hired and on-going training to keep up with the demand of our industry. What this means for you is that you or your loved one will receive some of the best caregivers our industry has to offer.

The time frame to begin care for a senior will depend on the urgency of the need for the person and family that will be receiving care. It will be important for the senior and their family to speak with a provider in order to discuss care needs, where care will be provided, how soon care will need to begin, and a budget for their care services. Based on the needs of the senior and their family, a care plan can be developed, whether needed for a few hours each week or around the clock care.

How people pay for long-term care, whether delivered at home or in a hospital, assisted living facility, or nursing home, depends on their financial situation and the kinds of services they use. In many cases, people believe that their current health or disability insurance will pay for their long-term care needs, but most of these insurance policies include limited, if any, long-term care benefits. Often, people must rely on a variety of payment sources, including personal funds, government programs, and private financing options.

Traditional Medicare does not pay for 24-hour-a-day care at your home, meals delivered to your home, homemaker services like shopping, cleaning, and laundry that aren’t related to your care plan, custodial, or personal care that helps you with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, or using the bathroom, when this is the only care that is needed.

Home Based Primary Care is part of the VA Medical Benefits. All enrolled Veterans are eligible IF they meet the clinical need for the service and it is available.
