CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Fourth of July celebrations are planned all across Northeast Ohio communities.
This Independence Day includes a plethora of different family-friendly events:
Heart of Akron Festival
The Rubber City will be rocking for a weekend-long Independence Day and bicentennial celebration.
The Heart of Akron Festival — taking place July 3-5 at Lock 3 — features live music with fireworks scheduled for Independence Day evening.
Aurora
After an 11 a.m. July 4 parade going through the center of town ending at Kiwanis-Moore Park, fireworks are scheduled later in the day at dusk at West Pioneer Trail.
Avon
The city’s Great July 4th Bike Parade takes place at 10 a.m. July 4 at the Avon Aquatic Facility.
Avon Lake Party in the Park
Avon Lake’s summertime Party in the Park series includes a memorable July 3 Independence Day celebration with food trucks and live music followed by fireworks at Weiss Field.
Bay Village Bay Days
The annual Bay Days is scheduled from July 2-5 at Cahoon Memorial Park.
The multi-day affair boasts live music, carnival rides, food and a July 5 fireworks display.
Bedford/Bedford Heights
The Bedford/Bedford Heights parade kicks off at 10 a.m. July 4 at Columbus and Washington streets, proceeds east on Columbus Road to Perkins Road and ends at Bedford Heights City Hall.
Berea Grindstone Festival
Taking place from noon to 10:30 p.m. July 4, the Berea Grindstone Festival is the city’s signature Fourth of July celebration with live entertainment, inflatables and food vendors.
The day kicks off with a 10:30 a.m. Independence Day parade through city streets and ends with a spectacular fireworks display over Coe Lake.
Brunswick Fireworks
The Independence Day celebration kicks off at 6 p.m. July 3 with a performance by Funkology followed by the city’s annual fireworks display from Brunswick High School.
Chagrin Falls
The community Fourth of July celebration — which includes a bike parade, pet parade, car show, live music and family fun — takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Triangle Park.
Chardon Old Glory Day
Chardon’s Old Glory Day is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. July 4 on Chardon Square. Decorations are provided for the children to decorate their bikes, scooters or wagons, followed by a children’s parade around the square led by the Chardon Fire Department. An afternoon of games, music, face painting, balloon animals and a pie-eating contest follows. Fireworks return at dusk on July 5 at Chardon High School.
Cleveland Guardians
The Cleveland Guardians feature fireworks displays after the July 4 and 5 games against the Detroit Tigers at Progressive Field.
Cleveland Orchestra “Salute to America”
Cleveland Orchestra’s “Salute to America” finds the Blossom Festival Band performing patriotic marches, Broadway favorites and an armed forces salute at 8 p.m. July 3-4 at Blossom Music Center. Fireworks to follow.
Downtown Cleveland Alliance’s Light Up the Lake fireworks
The annual Independence Day fireworks spectacular returns from 5 to 10 p.m. July 4 at Voinovich Park in downtown Cleveland. The event includes face painting, balloon twisting, bubbles, crafts, food trucks, CLE Cotton Candy and DJ Smillz with a fireworks spectacular beginning at dusk.
Elyria Independence Day Celebration
The Elyria Parks and Recreation Department’s 2025 Independence Day celebration begins at 7 p.m. July 5 at West Park. In addition to food trucks, live music, bounce houses and chalk art, fireworks begin at 10:15 p.m.
Fairlawn
Fairlawn Parks and Red presents an Independence Day Celebration from 5 to 10 p.m., July 4 at Bicentennial Park. The fun includes food vendors and live entertainment followed by fireworks.
Fairport Harbor Mardi Gras 2025
Fairport Harbor’s annual Mardi Gras celebration includes a vibrant parade, entertainment and vendors from 5 to 11 p.m. in Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park. The evening ends with a spectacular fireworks display.
Hudson Independence Day Fireworks
Hudson’s free Independence Day celebration takes place at 7 p.m. July 5 with food trucks and fireworks at Barlow Farm Park.
Kent Heritage Festival
The 30th annual Kent Heritage Festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 5 throughout the downtown area. This year’s festival boasts live music and entertainment on two stages, a classic car show, kids’ play and activities area, local food trucks and fireworks at dusk.
Lakewood Independence Day
The July 4 celebration kicks off at 10 a.m. with a parade stepping off from Kenneth Drive and Lake Avenue to Lakewood Park. The evening ends with fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
Lorain Fireworks
Lorain Port and Finance Authority sponsors a magnificent Independence Day fireworks display at 10 p.m. July 4 from the Mile-Long Pier.
Mayfield Village Fireworks
Beginning with kid-friendly activities from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Parkview Pool on June 28, Mayfield Village’s Independence Day celebration officially kicks off at 7 p.m. with entertainment by Saints in The City -- A Bruce Springsteen Experience followed by fireworks.
Medina Fireworks Festival & Parade
Medina’s annual Independence Day celebration takes place from 5 to 10 p.m. July 3 at the Medina Recreation Center with bands, food trucks, foam pit, games and contests followed by fireworks at dusk from the Medina High School parking lot. The July 4 parade begins at 4 p.m. at the high school parking lot and ends at the Square.
Medina County Independence Day Fireworks & Parade
The Independence Day festivities on July 4 take place from 10 a.m. to dusk at Mill Stream Park in Valley City. Beginning with a parade through downtown, the event includes a classic and antique car show, live music and fireworks at dusk.
Mentor Rocks Independence Day Celebration
Residents are invited to spend a Mentor Rocks July 4 evening with Journey tribute band ESCAPE, which will be playing all of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee act’s hits, followed by a 25-minute fireworks display.
North Ridgeville Freedom Festival
The all-encompassing North Ridgeville Freedom Festival is set for 4 to 11 p.m. July 3 at Victory Park Ohio. The event is free but there’s a parking cost. The event features food and drinks from vendors and Victory Grille, and concludes with a 30-minute fireworks show.
Parma Independence Day Parade and Christmas in July Food Drive
The Parma Independence Day Parade steps off at 10 a.m. July 4 traveling south on Ridge Road from Snow Road to W. Ridgewood Drive by The Shoppes at Parma. Along the parade route, volunteers and city workers will collect donations (boxed, bagged and canned nonperishable food items) for the Parma Hunger Center’s food pantry.
Shaker Heights Fourth of July Pool Party
Shaker Heights’ annual Independence Day celebration is a pool party from 1 to 5 p.m. July 4 at Thornton Park. Enjoy music, activities and fun in the sun. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Regular pool admissions and rules apply.
Wadsworth Independence Day Fireworks
The annual affair boasts food trucks from 6 to 11:30 p.m. July 3 in downtown Wadsworth. After a performance by the Wadsworth Community Band, fireworks will follow.
Westlake Independence Day Parade and Fireworks
Westlake’s annual Independence Day celebration begins with a parade that kicks off at 10 a.m. July 4 from Lee Burneson Middle School on Dover Center Road and ends at Clague Park where residents can enjoy community fun with fireworks at dusk.
