In the mid-1990’s, just outside of Sacramento, California, Michael Newman felt frustrated by the lack of resources for seniors in his community. An owner and operator of facilities for seniors, he saw many seniors and their loved ones arrive at his facilities confused and overwhelmed after trying to find the right assisted living community. This frustration eventually shaped his vision: To create a company that would serve seniors in the community by providing trusted care, compassionate support, and professional advice.
In 1996, Michael acted on his vision and founded Always Best Care. Since that time, Always Best Care has become one of the nation’s leading providers of non-medical in-home care, senior living referral services and home health care. Always Best Care was formed with the belief and agenda of taking the burden off of the families’ shoulders and putting it on our own. People with passion have made Always Best Care what it is today. Although times may change, our foundation never will.

Always Best Care combines national strength and standards with local accessibility and personal service. Linda Craig is the owner of Always Best Care’s Wallingford office. Linda and her staff are local residents and take great pride in helping families care for their loved ones. Our goal is to join your family’s journey and provide a person-centered care plan for your loved one. Our entire team has your loved one’s best interests at heart, and we provide both training and supervision of our caregivers to ensure that exceptional service is provided to all family members. The first step in our process includes a personal consultation with a Care Coordinator at no charge to you. In our meeting, we will thoroughly discuss your care needs, create a detailed care plan, and work with you on financing and logistics.

ALWAYS THERE FOR YOU ALWAYS BEST CARE
As a resident of Wallingford for more than three decades, Craig has built a career devoted to helping the local community through various roles within the healthcare industry. The entrepreneur has over 35 years of experience in pharmaceuticals and laboratory management. She has specialized in the area of oncology in both medical arenas. She most recently held the position of Regional Manager of Business Development for an oncology medical diagnostics company, establishing a strong network of healthcare professionals within the community. In her past endeavors, it was so gratifying to be able to help the patient get the right drug at the right time or the right diagnostic test. Hopefully, both treatments help in the recovery of the patient. The “Thank You” that was received made all the difference in the world. Linda earned a master’s degree from the University of West Haven, CT., and a Bachelor’s Degree in biology/chemistry from Drew University, Madison, NJ.
Linda decided to impact patients and clients directly by opening up Always Best Care Senior Services. Here, she is able to help the client directly. It is so fulfilling to make a difference in someone’s life. Her dad had dementia. She learned personally how the right care can make all the difference. Nothing is more fulfilling than to give the right care.” She strives to make Always Best Care a concierge type of service by paying attention to the clients and their families.ABC also offers a second “product.” That is to help clients who need to be housed in assisted living facilities find the best possible one for them. At no charge to the client, ABC can advise on the amenities and services at various local assisted living communities and make recommendations on which ones are best suited for the client or their loved one. The agency receives a referral fee from the community should they choose to move into one. Linda says, “I bring them on tours. I advise with finances. I help them get the best care possible.” In every case, ABC offers a free consultation to all who come to learn about their services.
Linda is honored to help seniors and give back to the community. Ten thousand Boomers turn 65 every day. The senior population is growing! Per Linda, “It is a new concept for most people. Most want to keep their independence and stay in their homes. With my medical background I have experience understanding the health issues. I know the right care to give.”
In her free time, Linda loves to travel, be with her family and friends, garden, hike and camp. She has a wonderful family and two grown children who she is so proud of.
Deneice Blow is our Client Care Coordinator. She is responsible for ensuring that our caregivers are performing their tasks and making our clients comfortable. She is an extra set of eyes on each client and makes routine visits to each home. Deneice also handles all of our Starts of Care, and performs initial assessments for our Veteran and Blue Cross clients.
Deneice has been in the industry for about 15 years since 2005. She possesses a wealth of information as she has worked at other home care agencies and was responsible for the live-in programs, scheduling, intake department, billing and marketing.
She is currently pursuing a degree in sociology. She enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying sports and traveling.
Amy Dobson is our scheduler. She recently joined our group in May 2023 and has a lot of previous experience in the homecare field. Amy herself was a caregiver for over 8 years. This gave her the ability to understand care and to help many seniors who needed care. She also worked within an Adult Memory Care facility for a brief time. Later, she transitioned to a scheduling position in which she is able to understand the caregiver demands and schedules. This is critical to designing the schedules needed for our agency to run effectively. Amy is excited to be part of our team. She has a son and daughter in which she spends a lot of time with and Amy is also active in her Church.
Everything changed for Cynthia and her family when her Mom fell, broke her hip, and began to show signs of dementia. She realized her Mom needed more care than her Dad and a 24/7 care giver could provide, but she and her family didn’t know where to go or whom to trust. They struggled to make such an emotional decision alone, wishing they’d had a trusted advisor, someone who had been in a similar situation and could support and guide them. The family made the best decision they could at the time, but it wasn’t an ideal way to manage such a life changing event.
Sensing there was much more to learn on the subject, Cynthia began to explore a career in senior living. Over the last 12 years she has worked as Director of Sales and Marketing and Director of Community Relations in Memory Care, Assisted Living, and Independent Living communities, and has been both an Adult Day Center volunteer and a CT Hospice trained volunteer. It was here that she found what was missing in her life: service to others first and a passion for working with seniors. Now she finds that providing emotional support and guidance to seniors and their families gives her a broader sense of purpose. Cynthia knows it’s an honor and a privilege to be a Senior Living Consultant and focuses her time with Always Best Care in Assisted Living Placement. During this most precious moment in time, as seniors prepare to cross the threshold into a new phase of life, she guides families in sorting out the disorienting maze of all the available assisted living housing options and helps them find a community where they will feel safe, secure, and loved.
Cynthia has always enjoyed being on the water and currently lives on the shoreline in Branford. As an avid reader and learner, Cynthia loves everything mystical and esoteric.
She loves to travel and has visited several countries in Europe and the Caribbean and has studied abroad in Mexico and France. As a prior restaurant owner, she enjoys hosting parties for and stimulating conversation with friends, new friends, and family.
Tyniece Blow just recently started with Always Best Care as our receptionist. Her job is to ensure that the office is running smoothly, helping in areas that she could and greeting those that come in or over the phone. She has a passion of working with people and ensuring that everyone she encounters has a good time around her.
She enjoys spending time with her family as she is a new mom. She graduated from Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School as a creative writer major. She loves writing short stories and plays. Her past work history includes working in the education field for 9 years with special needs children of various ages. Tyniece is currently in school pursuing her degree in early childhood education.
