Clayton moves on to the Purple Bracket semifinals on Saturday. Florida can force a rematch with a victory with a victory over Washington on Friday at 3 p.m.
Lake Mary had the lead briefly. Then Clayton responded and took a 5-1 lead itself.
Clayton catcher Kinsley Godwin reached second base on an error from Lake Mary third baseman Callie Ousley on the throw to first. Khloe Bradac sent her home with a double to tie the game.
Abbey Robinson then crushed a ball down the left field line to send Bradac home and give Clayton a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth. Scarlett Cerda sent Robinson home for a third run with a double through the gap between the shortstop and second base.
Pitcher Anna-Lynn Clark, who has 11 Ks for North Carolina, plated two more after an inning-ending pop up was dropped by second baseman Brynn Fieser.
Lake Mary center fielder Kylie Green broke the scoreless tie in the top of the fifth inning.
Green chopped one past North Carolina right fielder Abbey Robinson to the back wall. Green reached third base as Robinson's throw reached the infield, and an error on the catch gave Green time to run home and score the game's inaugural run.
It'll count as a triple with an error, colloquially known as a "Little League home run," and Florida has a 1-0 lead entering the bottom of the fifth.
Lake Mary's Chloe Cheek and Clayton's Anna-Lynn Clark have been impenetrable all afternoon.
Through four innings, both pitchers have each allowed only two hits, and three of them occurred in the fourth inning. A run has yet to cross home plate entering the home stretch of regulation.
Florida got is first hits of the game in the top of the fourth inning, but runs didn't cross the plate.
Left fielder Aria Tormos reached on a walk but was subsequently caught stealing. Had she made it to second, Florida may have scored a run as Zoey Brandon and Avery Little singled in the at bats following Tormos' out.
It would've been close, as Brynn Fieser hit a pop up to end the inning after Little's single.
Offense has been a non-existent luxury for Lake Mary and Clayton so far.
Anna-Lynn Clark has eight strikeouts in three innings for North Carolina, and Chloe Cheek has been equally as stout for Florida. Neither team has been close to scoring as a result.
The only exceptions were a Florida walk in the top of the first inning, a North Carolina baserunner on a dropped-third strike in the second and a Clark hit in the third.
Anna-Lynn Clark has faced 10 Lake Mary batters. Eight of them have struck out.
Lake Mary's Riley Tolan finally put a ball in play, but it resulted in a simple groundout to short. Clark's only flaw was a walk in the first inning, but she's more than made up for it at this point.
Clark's on pace for 16 strikeouts halfway through the game, which would be a Little League Softball World Series six-inning record.

Florida jumped into the lead right away; Zoey Brandon slashed a single into center field that was followed by an Avery Little single that was roped into right field. While aboard on second, Brandon took off and stole third, putting a runner in scoring position.
Ousley stepped up to the plate and found herself in a 1-ball, 2-strike count, swinging through strike three as the ball bounced away from the catcher, allowing Brandon to score before the throw was made down to first.
A chaotic end to the first inning paved the way for an even more productive fourth inning.
Avery Little provided a big hit to lead things off in the fourth, mashing a hard ground ball single into center field. Brynn Frieser stepped up to the plate and logged a single of her own, and Lake Mary had runners on second and third with only one out.
Osuley settled into the batter's box, falling behind two strikes, fighting off one for a foul ball. On the fourth pitch of the at-bat, Osuley smoked a line drive single into the gap and into centerfield, scoring two more runs that made Lake Mary's lead more comfortable at 3-0.
North Carolina found themselves backed into a corner but had not lost their fight.
The team from Winterville mounted a late sixth-inning rally after Allee Scott Gaddis delivered an RBI double, cutting the deficit to two runs and bringing the tying run to the plate. However, Lake Mary retired the next two batters to seal the victory. Chloe Cheek froze Baylor Stocks with a called third strike to end the game, sending Lake Mary into celebration.
Aggressive baserunning fueled opportunities for Lake Mary, putting more pressure on North Carolina to keep the ball close while in play and avoid any solid contact.
North Carolina threatened on several occasions but struck out nine times, preventing the visitors from stringing together a sustained rally. Florida created the separation it needed in the fourth inning, scoring two insurance runs to build a 3-0 lead entering the sixth.
Lake Mary pitcher Chloe Cheek turned in another complete-game performance, striking out nine of the 24 batters she faced while allowing one run on five hits over six innings. North Carolina scored once in the sixth and brought the tying run to the plate, but Cheek recorded the game's final out to send Florida to the Southeast Regional championship.
As the week winds down, Lake Mary will have a better idea of what the national competition may look like. But for today, and until next year, they are the queens of the Southeast.
