ATLANTA, GA — Days after a severe storm drenched Georgia, and a tornado rocked one county, weather experts said more rainfall is in the forecast this week.
The National Weather Service on Tuesday reported a 90 percent chance of showers after 2 a.m. Thursday for north and central Georgia, including metro Atlanta.
The showers are expected to arrive ahead of a cold front, the NWS stated. Conditions may be breezy and windy, according to the weather service. No anticipated severe weather was reported.
After a few days, showers and a thunderstorm may not return until Sunday night and Monday, according to the forecast.
Temperatures could be as high as near 80 degrees on Wednesday before plummeting to a high of 57 degrees on Thursday. The lowest for the week could come on Thursday night, when the NWS is predicting 35 degrees.

Even with the rain, the NWS said low humidity levels have put metro Atlanta and several other Georgia counties at risk for high fire danger conditions on Tuesday.
Relative humidity levels of 25 percent or less are forecast to last at least four hours Tuesday afternoon and into the evening, the NWS reported.
Southwest winds could blow at 5-10 mph, while gusts could crank up to 15 mph near ridge tops and peaks, the NWS reported.
"With dry fuels, high fire danger conditions can be expected. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside, use extreme caution," the NWS said in a special weather statement.
