TESTIMONIALS

“When I fell and broke my hip in 5 places, my wife needed help taking care of me after hip surgery. The hospital handed us a binder with many resources but would not recommend any one company over another. We called each option for in home care and were immediately impressed with Always Best Care. My call was answered right away and I was routed to the correct team member to make an appointment for an evaluation. Two representatives came out right on time, including Lori Yeager, RN, their Quality Care Director. What also impressed us was two days later, their lead caregiver visited our home to be sure their team of caregivers understood exactly what the needs were and to learn our home layout. When I called other organizations, I was told they did not perform an evaluation. They would just connect me with a contractor and that was it. They would not be able to replace a caregiver if they did not show up or needed to reschedule. That was a deal breaker for us. Always Best Care provided excellent home aid resources from May through August, 2023. Their dedicated scheduler Joselynne was a pleasure to work with. They have a patient portal where the home aid enters notes for each day of care. I cannot speak highly enough of Always Best Care – what a well-run organization. It gives me peace of mind to have such a great resource should we need in home care again. Thank you Lori, Jessica, Joselynne, Ty and the entire team. We sincerely appreciate your help.”

“I gave Always Best Care (ABC) a 5 star rating because the caregivers are amazing! The caregivers that we have worked with are experienced, professional and reliable. They give us a piece of mind knowing that our family member is being well cared for. Maintaining the client’s privacy and dignity was a huge factor when we were looking for care and ABC has exhibited those factors. The ABC Caregivers and Scheduling staff are awesome! Communication is key to us, even though there were a few glitches we managed to resolve it. ABC is a great fit for our family and I would recommend anyone looking for quality care for a loved one to give them a call and check it out.”

“I (we, family) have been with ABC almost 2 years. The agency helps me with three parents, two dads and relief for my mother. Our caregivers are INCREDIBLE. We tend to need different level of care for different reasons at different times. All caregivers tend to parents needs, requests and help compassionately, professionally and with little or no instruction needed. The administration gets 5++ stars. From me. Kinks can happen for everyone. My family prob gets awards for that LOL. If any challenge comes up EVERYONE works diligently, compassionately to fix it. There is know way I could do this with/for parents without administrative, medical and caregivers. My dad Korea Vet, my stepdad WWII Purple Heart. Both dads are grateful for the help and companionship. We (family) all are so grateful we have so much confidence with this agency. We thank our Veterans, never forget to thank your caregivers. I highly recommend this company!”

Thank you, ABC, for taking care of my Dad!”

FAQs About Skilled Home Health Care Services

Female-Caregiver-Mobile Female-Caregiver-Desktop

Absolutely! Federal law gives patients the freedom to choose their home healthcare provider. It would be our honor to care for you, or your loved one when you need us most!

Home health is designed to help you recover in the comfort of your home through skilled nurses and rehabilitation services. Home health must be ordered by a physician when they determine that your condition requires you to stay at home for rehab and recovery from illness, injury or surgery. Home health is the most cost effective option for receiving care as it allows for patients and their families to be home where they want to be.

Home health is skilled clinical care ordered by a health care provider. These services might include things like nursing, physical therapy and occupational therapy, and are designed to help you manage your condition and regain your independence after illness, injury, or surgery.
Personal home care assistance involves non-clinical services, such as help around the house, transportation, bathing, and light meal preparation.

Paying for home health services can be done through various methods, depending on your specific situation and the options available to you. Here are some common payment methods:

Medicare: If you qualify for Medicare, it may cover 100% of your home health services. Medicare is a federal health insurance program primarily for individuals aged 65 and older, but it can also cover younger individuals with certain disabilities. To be eligible for Medicare coverage of home health services, you typically need a doctor’s order and meet specific criteria related to your health condition.

Private Insurance: Many private health insurance plans cover home health services. The coverage and requirements can vary significantly from one insurance plan to another, so it’s essential to check with your insurance provider to understand your specific coverage and any out-of-pocket costs you might incur.

Medicare Advantage: Some individuals choose to enroll in Medicare Advantage plans (Part C), which are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. These plans often include coverage for home health services, but the specifics can vary by plan.

Long-Term Care Insurance: Long-term care insurance policies are designed to cover the costs of various long-term care services, including home health care. If you have such a policy, check your coverage to see if it includes home health services and any specific requirements for reimbursement.

Veteran’s Benefits: Veterans may be eligible for home health services coverage through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Eligibility and coverage depend on factors such as your service-connected disability status and other criteria. Contact the VA or your local Veterans Health Administration office for more information.

Workers’ Compensation: If your need for home health services is related to a work-related injury or illness, workers’ compensation insurance may cover the costs. This generally applies to injuries or illnesses that occurred on the job.

Private Pay: If you don’t have insurance coverage or if the services you require are not covered, you can choose to pay for home health services out of pocket. The cost will depend on the specific services needed and the rates charged by the home health agency.

Before receiving home health services, it’s crucial to verify your eligibility and coverage options. This often involves discussing your insurance or payment method with the home health agency’s financial team. They can assist you in navigating the payment process and help answer any questions you may have about financing your care.

  • Tracheotomy Care
  • Catheter Care
  • Cognitive Training
  • Diet Teaching
  • Injections
  • Cancer Care: If you or a loved one is recovering from surgery or undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatments your health care needs may be complex. Therapists and in-home health professionals will come to you to provide the care you need in the comfort of home. You can count on us for:
    • Pain and symptom management
    • Infusion therapy
    • Management of ports and access devices
    • Nutrition and dietary support
    • Resource planning for help with meals, transportation, applying for medical assistance, advocating with insurance companies, and support to stay comfortably at home
    • Follow up with your physician to assess treatment and progress

At your first visit a nurse will conduct an initial comprehensive assessment through a combination of interview and hands on assessment. The assessment will focus on identifying areas where you may benefit from education on self-care management in addition to providing hands on intervention. Your nurse will review all your medications and make sure you are taking them correctly and safely, as well as assist you in setting them up if needed. Your nurse will collaborate with your physician and determine the level of care you need. This approach helps to allow you to stay in the comfort of your home and actively engages you and your caregiver in your health care.

The frequency and type of home health visits and the services provide are based on your individualized plan of care. Your doctor may change your plan of care, increasing or decreasing the number of visits or services provided, in order to provide you with the best care possible.

An individual shall be considered to be “confined to his home” if the individual has a condition, due to an illness or injury, that restricts the ability of the individual to leave his or her home except with the assistance of another individual or the aid of a supportive devise (such as crutches, a cane, a wheelchair, or a walker), or if the individual has a condition such that leaving his or her home is medically contraindicated. While an individual does not have to be bedridden to be considered “confined to his home”, the condition of the individual should be such that there exists a normal inability to leave home or that leaving home requires a considerable and taxing effort by the individual.

Yes. If you or a loved one is interested in receiving skilled home health care services, speak with your primary care physician, nurse practitioner, or other health care provider.

Personal home care is often needed alongside skilled home health services, and we can help coordinate the two levels of care. A limited number of your personal home care hours may be covered by Medicare while you’re receiving clinical in-home care, but it’s generally paid separately or covered by private insurance or other government programs.
