Eric André has called his next stand-up tour ‘Subtle’, which is quite a title for a comedian whose entire career has been built around spectacular unpredictability. The comedian and creator of ‘The Eric Andre Show’ has announced a massive 40-date North American tour for spring and summer 2027, bringing his famously outrageous sense of humour to theatres across the United States and Canada. The tour kicks off March 10 at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, Texas, and continues through August 15 at New Orleans’ Orpheum Theater, with major stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Nashville, Atlanta and Vancouver along the way.
And if you’ve followed André’s career, you’ll know that calling anything he does subtle is a pretty entertaining joke in itself.
André has built a devoted audience through his willingness to take comedy into gloriously uncomfortable territory. As the creator and host of Adult Swim’s ‘The Eric Andre Show’, he’s become one of the most recognizable faces in contemporary alternative comedy, known for his absurdist humour, chaotic interviews and willingness to surprise audiences at every opportunity.
His television work has established a distinctive comic personality, and his live performances offer another opportunity to experience that unpredictability. A theatre full of people waiting to discover what André will do next provides an entertaining setting for a comedian whose approach has always involved challenging expectations.
The ‘Subtle’ tour begins with a concentrated stretch of performances across Texas and Oklahoma. Following the opening show in San Antonio, André visits Houston, Austin and Dallas on consecutive nights before heading to Oklahoma City. He then travels east for performances in Richmond, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.
April brings the tour to Hawaii, where André will perform two shows at Honolulu’s Blue Note Hawaii on April 2, with performances scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. From there, he heads back to the mainland for appearances in Portland, Maine; Medford, Massachusetts; Providence, Rhode Island; and New Haven, Connecticut.
The month wraps up with three major Southern performances, including Nashville’s The Truth on April 23, Atlanta’s Tabernacle on April 24 and Durham’s DPAC on April 25.
André’s May schedule takes him to the West Coast, beginning May 19 at Oakland’s Fox Theater. The following nights bring performances in Portland, Oregon, and Seattle before his lone announced Canadian appearance at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre on May 22.
June includes concerts at Denver’s Paramount Theatre, Tucson’s Rialto Theatre and Phoenix’s Celebrity Theatre, followed by a Los Angeles appearance at The Wiltern on June 26. André then performs at The Magnolia in El Cajon, California, on June 27.
July brings another substantial stretch of dates through the Midwest. The comedian performs in Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago, Madison and Minneapolis over five consecutive evenings, beginning July 7.
The Chicago Theatre appearance on July 9 stands among the tour’s major stops, placing André in one of the city’s best-known live entertainment venues. Later in July, the tour heads to Pittsburgh, Columbus, Cleveland, Detroit and Grand Rapids.
August brings the final announced run, beginning with an August 6 appearance at New York’s Beacon Theatre. André then heads to Florida for performances in West Palm Beach, St. Petersburg and Orlando before concluding the tour in New Orleans on August 15.
The schedule includes an impressive variety of venues, from the intimate atmosphere of Blue Note Hawaii to major historic theatres and large performing arts centres. It’s an ambitious itinerary that will take André through dozens of cities over six months, giving fans across North America plenty of opportunities to see him live.
Tickets are on sale now following an artist presale that began October 21 and general ticket sales that opened October 23.
With 40 dates announced, ‘Subtle’ represents a major touring commitment for a performer whose reputation rests on keeping audiences guessing. The title alone suggests André is having some fun with the idea of restraint, and the chance to see his comedy unfold in person should appeal to longtime fans and newcomers alike.
After all, subtlety and Eric André have rarely occupied the same room for very long.
