After months of speculation, the new Kroger Marketplace on Bonds Ranch Road in far north Fort Worth has an official date for a grand opening.
On Friday morning, a Kroger spokesman confirmed to the Star-Telegram when the long-awaited store will open its doors to customers.
The store is at 113 E. Bonds Ranch Road, immediately off the exit for U.S. 287, in one of the fastest-growing corridors of Fort Worth. The Kroger will be one of the first grocery stores in the area.
When will Kroger open on Bonds Ranch Road?
Mark your calendars: the Kroger Marketplace will open on Friday, Oct. 31, at 6 a.m. There will be gifts for the first 200 in-store shoppers.
This grocery store will be the first big-box grocer for the region around Haslet and southeastern Wise County residents. Another Kroger Marketplace at the corner of Sendera Ranch Boulevard and Rancho Canyon Way broke ground in June and will open in October 2026.
H-E-B owns land across the street from the Bonds Ranch Road Kroger, but it has not announced any plans for the site.
This Bonds Ranch Kroger Marketplace will offer groceries, home goods, electronics and clothing. Instead of a Starbucks, this location will feature a local artisan coffee chain, Pax & Beneficia. There will also be a gas station.
Bonds Ranch Road construction
The Sendera Ranch Kroger Marketplace will be a part of a grander 20-acre shopping center. This 122,000-square-foot location will include a Starbucks, sushi counter, Murray’s cheese counter, home goods, apparel and toys.
Just east of the Bonds Ranch Kroger is a development of 100,000 square feet of retail shops including Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, Great Clips, a nail salon, 7-Eleven and a Panda Express. The 40-acre site will include an early childhood learning center for about 400 students, opening in fall 2026.
Two of the biggest new developments are on the western edge of the corridor. The Rio Claro development will bring 1,914 homes southeast of the intersection of Bonds Ranch Road and Morris Dido Newark Road.
Across the street from Rio Claro, Dallas-based Centurion American Development Group plans to build 1,100 homes across 836 acres.
On the east end of Bonds Ranch Road, Inspire homes plans 196 single family homes just west of the Harmon Road roundabout.
There are plans to widen sections of Bonds Ranch Road as well as build a bridge over the train tracks. On the horizon is a major project to rebuild overpasses and interchanges on U.S. 287 and extend service roads.
