BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WSMV) - Fans of Bed Bath & Beyond can rest easy as a new version of the store will be opening this week in the Nashville area.
Amy Sullivan, the CEO of Kirkland’s Home, announced on Tuesday, August 5, that the company is “transitioning” several of its locations into Bed Bath & Beyond Home.
“For six decades, Kirkland’s Home has been part of creating spaces people love,” Sullivan wrote. “That legacy is not ending - it’s growing.”
Sullivan hopes the change will allow the company to bring more style options and value to its customers.
Bed Bath & Beyond has been mired in bankruptcy and acquisition talks for the last several years, citing declining sales and an inability to attract customers.
In January 2023, the company announced that it was exploring several options, including restructuring its business in bankruptcy court, and its shares fell by more than 19% on the news.
As a result, the company began shuttering locations and laying off workers to trim expenses.
However, Bed Bath & Beyond began showing signs of life following an agreement with Overstock.com and other retailers, like The Container Store.
These agreements seemed to assure the brand would eventually disappear until the announcement by Kirkland’s, which is also rebranding to The Brand House Collective, Inc.
In a statement released to PR Newswire in July, Sullivan mentioned some perks awaiting customers at the new store in Brentwood, Tennessee.
