Home Care Chapel Hill, TN

They say that your golden years are the best years of your life. For most older Americans, that's how it should be - a time to relax, reflect, and live life in a familiar place. After all, senior citizens in the U.S. have worked tirelessly to build a better economy, serve their communities, and raise families.

However, as seniors grow older, completing daily tasks like showering and enjoying activities such as visiting the historic Rocky Ridge Farm Historic District gets harder without someone by their side. Unfortunately, many older Americans aren't able to rely on their adult children for help. The reality in today's world is that family members do not have the skills or time to dedicate to caring for their parents. That's where Always Best Care Senior Services comes in.

Our in-home care services are for people who prefer to stay at home as they grow older but need ongoing care that family or friends cannot provide. More and more older adults prefer to live far away from long-term, institutionalized facilities and closer to the place where they feel most comfortable - their home. Home care in Chapel Hill, TN is a safe, effective way to give your loved ones the care they need when they need it the most.

“I’d like to take a moment to thank you and everyone at Always Best Care for the assistance and great care provided to my mother following her stroke. After a lengthy stay in a rehabilitation center, mom was very clear that she wanted to go home. The stroke had unfortunately robbed her of her independence, and to go home, we would need round-the-clock care. Always Best Care came into our family at that point and made it possible for mom to be at home for over 20 months. Maintaining continuity of care and finding the right match of caregivers is no east task. There are so many moving parts that go into making that happen day after day, and somehow your team made it look easy. Coordinating staffing around last-minute callouts, illness, incompatible personalities, holidays, family dynamics, etc. These and other challenges did arise, but the important thing is that you reliably found solutions. Through a challenging state in my mother’s life, and for our entire family, your caregiver and office staff provide the support and peace of mind we needed. We’ve been very fortunate along the way to have many wonderful caregivers, and I’ve personally enjoyed getting to know them, I want to emphasize that you have very special people on your team. The two ladies who interviewed us and explained the procedure could not have been nicer and more professional. When the caregiver Rhonda arrived, she immediately put us at ease. She was very efficient in making sure she had my husband’s medicine doses correct and in asking questions pertinent to his Parkinson’s. “A very kind review from a client's family member that was received today. We are grateful to have such wonderful families to work with and take care of in addition to great staff like Stacey Leverette. To Whom it May Concern, I would like to recommend Always Best Care Senior Services. My experience with them has been great! My father had advanced Parkinson's disease as well as some other physical problems. He finally got to the place he needed some assistance. I contacted Stacey and she came out and met with my dad and myself. She was very knowledgeable and thoroughly answered all the questions and concerns for us. More than anything else, she calmed all the concerns that my father had. In a very short time Stacey had someone on site. We've had days where we needed to change the day or time of service because of appointments, holidays or something else. When that occurs, I simply call Stacey and give her the information and she makes the adjustments in a seamless manner. If you work with her for a little bit, you will see quickly that she is very good at what she does. It has been a very good experience. I recommend Always Best Care. Yours Sincerely, Bill A.”

What is Non-Medical Senior Care in Chapel Hill, TN?

lm-check

Home is where the heart is. While that saying can sound a tad cliche, it is especially true for many seniors living in America. When given a choice, older adults most often prefer to grow older at home. An AARP study found that three out of four adults over the age of 50 want to stay in their homes and communities as they age.

lm-check

When you begin to think about why, it makes sense. Home offers a sense of security, comfort, and familiarity.

lm-check

The truth is, as we age, we begin to rely on others for help. When a family is too busy or lives too far away to fulfill this role, in-home senior care is often the best solution. Home care services allow seniors to enjoy personal independence while also receiving trustworthy assistance from a trained caregiver.

lm-check

At Always Best Care, we offer a comprehensive range of home care services to help seniors stay healthy while they get the help they need to remain independent. As your senior loved one gets older, giving them the gift of senior care is one of the best ways to show your love, even if you live far away.

Respite Care

Respite Care Services

According to AARP, more than 53 million adults living in the U.S. provide care to someone over 50 years old. Unfortunately, these caregivers experience stress, exhaustion, and even depression. Our respite care services help family caregivers address urgent obligations, spend time with their children, and enjoy nearby activities. Perhaps more importantly, respite care gives family members time to recharge and regroup. Taking personal time to de-stress reduces the risk of caregiver burnout. So, if you've always wanted to eat at the local Elements Restaurant or visit Old Well, don't feel bad. Doing so is great for both you and your loved one.

At the end of the day, our goal is to become a valuable part of your senior's daily routine. That way, we may help give them the highest quality of life possible. We know that staying at home is important for your loved one, and we are here to help make sure that is possible.

If you have been on the fence about non-medical home care, there has never been a better time than now to give your senior the care, assistance, and companionship they deserve.

Aging in Place: The Preferred Choice for Most Seniors

While it's true that some seniors have complicated medical needs that prevent them from staying at home, aging in place is often the best arrangement for seniors and their families. With a trusted caregiver, seniors have the opportunity to live with a sense of dignity and do so as they see fit - something that is unavailable to many older people today.

In-home care makes it possible for millions of seniors to age in place every year. Rather than moving to a strange nursing home, seniors have the chance to stay at home where they feel the happiest and most comfortable.

Here are just a few of the reasons why older men and women prefer to age at home:

How much does a senior's home truly mean to them?

A study published by the American Society on Aging found that more than half of seniors say their home's emotional value means more than how much their home is worth in monetary value. It stands to reason, then, that a senior's home is where they want to grow old.

With the help of elderly care in Chapel Hill, TN, seniors don't have to age in a sterilized care facility. Instead, they can age gracefully in the place they want to be most: their home. In contrast, seniors who move to a long-term care facility must adapt to new environments, new people, and new systems that the facility implements. At this stage in life, this kind of drastic change can be more harmful than helpful.

Institutional care facilities like nursing homes often put large groups of people together to live in one location. On any given day, dozens of staff members and caregivers run in and out of these facilities. Being around so many new people in a relatively small living environment can be dangerous for a seniors' health and wellbeing. When you consider that thousands of seniors passed away in nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, opting for in-home care is often a safer, healthier choice for seniors.

Aging in place has been shown to improve seniors' quality of life, which helps boost physical health and also helps insulate them from viral and bacterial risks found in elderly living facilities.

For many seniors, the ability to live independently with assistance from a caregiver is a priceless option. With in-home care, seniors experience a higher level of independence and freedom - much more so than in other settings like a nursing home. When a senior has the chance to age in place, they get to live life on their own terms, inside the house that they helped make into a home. More independence means more control over their personal lives, too, which leads to increased levels of fulfillment, happiness, and personal gratification. Over time, these positive feelings can manifest into a healthier, longer life.

More independence, a healthier life, and increased comfort are only a few benefits of aging in place. You have to take into consideration the role of cost and convenience. Simply put, it's usually easier and more affordable to help seniors age in place than it is to move them into an institutional care facility. According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, seniors who age in the comfort of their homes can save thousands of dollars per month.

In-home care services from Always Best Care, for instance, are often less expensive than long-term solutions, which can cost upwards of six figures per year. To make matters worse, many residential care facilities are reluctant to accept long-term care insurance and other types of payment assistance.

With Always Best Care's home care services, seniors and their families have a greater level of control over their care plans. In-home care gives seniors the chance to form a bond with a trusted caregiver and also receive unmatched care that is catered to their needs. In long-term care facilities, seniors and their loved ones have much less control over their care plan and have less of a say in who provides their care.

Affordable Care

In-home care is a valuable resource that empowers seniors to age in place on their own terms. However, a big concern for many families and their loved ones is how much in-home care costs. If you're worried that in-home care is too expensive, you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that it is one of the most affordable senior care arrangements available.

Typically, hiring an Always Best Care in-home caregiver for a few hours a week is more affordable than sending your loved one to a long-term care facility. This is true even for seniors with more complex care needs.

At Always Best Care, we will work closely with you and your family to develop a Care Plan that not only meets your care needs, but your budget requirements, too. Once we discover the level of care that you or your senior need, we develop an in-home care plan that you can afford.

In addition to our flexible care options, families should also consider the following resources to help offset potential home care costs:

If your loved one qualifies, Medicaid may help reduce in-home care costs. Review your TN's Medicaid program laws and benefits, and make sure your senior's financial and medical needs meet Medicaid eligibility requirements.
Attendance and aid benefits through military service can cover a portion of the costs associated with in-home care for veterans and their spouses.
Many senior care services like in-home care are included in long-term care insurance options. Research different long-term care solutions to find a plan that provides coverage for senior care.
Home care can be included as part of a senior's private insurance plan. Read over your loved one's insurance policy carefully or speak with their insurance provider to determine if in-home care is covered.
Depending on the life insurance plan, you may be able to apply your policy toward long-term care. You may be able to use long-term-care coverage to help pay for in-home elderly care.

Compassionate Care. Trusted Caregivers.

When you or your senior loved one needs assistance managing daily tasks at home, finding a qualified caregiver can be challenging. It takes a special kind of person to provide reliable care for your senior loved one. However, a caregiver's role involves more than meal preparation and medication reminders. Many seniors rely on their caregivers for companionship, too.

Our companion care services give seniors the chance to socialize in a safe environment and engage in activities at home. These important efforts boost morale and provide much-needed relief from repetitive daily routines. A one-on-one, engaging conversation can sharpen seniors' minds and give them something in which to be excited.

At Always Best Care, we only hire care providers that we would trust to care for our own loved ones. Our senior caregivers in Chapel Hill, TN understand how important it is to listen and communicate with their seniors. A seemingly small interaction, like a short hug goodbye, can make a major difference in a senior's day. Instead of battling against feelings of isolation, seniors begin to look forward to seeing their caregiver each week.

Understanding the nuances of senior care is just one of the reasons why our care providers are so great at their job.

Unlike some senior care companies, our caregivers must undergo extensive training before they work for Always Best Care. In addition, our caregivers receive ongoing training throughout the year. This training ensures that their standard of care matches up to the high standards we've come to expect. During this training, they will brush up on their communication skills, safety awareness, and symptom spotting. That way, your loved one receives the highest level of non-medical home care from day one.

Assisted Living Referral Services

While it's true that many seniors prefer to age at home, sometimes in-home care isn't the best fit. For those seniors and their families, choosing an assisted living facility makes more sense. Unfortunately, finding the optimal care facility is easier said than done in today's day and age. That's when Always Best Care's assisted living referral services begin to make a lot of sense.

Assisted living is a form of housing intended for seniors who require varying degrees of medical and personal attention. Accommodations may include single rooms, apartments, or shared living arrangements. Assisted living communities are typically designed to resemble a home-like environment and are physically constructed to encourage the independence of residents.

Respite Care Chapel Hill, TN

At assisted living communities, seniors receive help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating. They may also benefit from coordination of services with outside healthcare providers, and monitoring of resident activities to ensure their health, safety, and well-being. Caregivers who work at assisted living communities can also provide medication administration and personal care services for older adults.

Other services offered within assisted living communities can include some or all of the following:

  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry
  • Recreational Activities
  • Social Outings
  • Emergency Medical Response
  • Medication Monitoring
  • Family Visitation
  • Personal Care
 Caregivers Chapel Hill, TN

At Always Best Care, our representatives can match your senior's emotional, physical, and financial needs with viable assisted living communities nearby. Results are based on comparative data, so you can select the best choice for you or your loved one.

This information can include basic care and rent, resident availability, and services provided. Some of the most popular assisted living communities to consider in our area include the following:

  • The Stratford
  • LiveWell Assisted Living

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Thousands of Middle Tennesseans are without power after strong storms blew through the area Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

On Friday, June 30, just over 26,000 Nashville Electric Service customers were without power after strong storms rolled through the area. The majority of the outages were reported near the Davidson/Cheatham County Line and along Percy Priest Lake.

By 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, more than 10,000 NES customer were still without power due to 618 active incidents around the coverage area. Then, just after 6:30 a.m., NES announced that significant progress had been overnight with power being restored to more than half of customers.

However, severe thunderstorms rolled through Davidson County early Saturday afternoon, with the Nashville International Airport measuring a wind gust of 67 mph, tying for the eighth-highest wind gust ever measured at the airport, officials said. As a result of the storms, the number of NES customers impacted by outages skyrocketed to more than 33,000 by 2:45 p.m.

“NES crews are fully staffed and additional crews arrived in Nashville from Kentucky this morning to assist with the restoration efforts. Because of the extreme heat, NES is taking extra precautions to keep crews safe while continuing to work 24/7 until all power is restored,” the company said in a statement released just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

At 8 p.m.., more than 13,000 NES customers throughout the service area were still dealing with outages, with the largest outage impacting just over 2,000 customers in the Hillsboro Road area, according to the company. Officials said there were 1,391 active events that required attention, and added that crews found 14 broken poles, which will take longer to repair.

However, as of 2:35 p.m., an estimated 3,028 Cumberland Electric members were affected by outages, more than half of were in Robertson County. By 8:05 p.m., though, the total number of members impacted by outages dropped to 54, including 48 in Cheatham County and six in Robertson County. On Sunday, July 2, the number of members impacted dropped to two.

As for Middle Tennessee Electric, about 1,500 customers were without power as of 2:50 p.m. Saturday, with the majority of the outages being reported in Wilson County. On Sunday, that number dropped to less than 10.

On Friday, Duck River Electric reported nearly 2,000 outages, with the majority of them in Chapel Hill and Unionville.

On Saturday, just after 11:30 a.m., the electric company’s outage map showed that crews were working to repair 47 outages. By 2:50 p.m., though, Duck River Electric reported the number of outages had climbed to 147, impacting 3,097 customers. Then, at 8:10 p.m., the company said there were only 54 outages affecting 705 customers. On Sunday, as of 12 p.m., three customers remain without power.

If you come across a fallen power line, you are urged to stay away from it because it could still carry an electric charge. Make sure to call 911 and warn anyone nearby about the hazard.

TN church celebrates ‘genuine revival’ with swimming pool baptisms

God has been stirring in the hearts of the members of Grove Hill Church Chapel Hill, Tennessee. Subsequently, the water in the swimming pool at senior pastor Ridley Barron’s house also has been stirring.

Throughout the summer a series of unique baptism services has been held in the Barrons’ pool, where church and family members line the edges of the water to watch.

The gatherings have helped highlight an ongoing movement of God taking place at Grove Hill, according to the pastor. Through early August the five-year-old church has celebrated 94 new members, 54 baptisms and 43 salvation decisions.

‘Excited and overwhelmed’

“We are truly excited and overwhelmed about how God has been working in our church,” Barron said. “It’s been quite a cool journey for us.”

The baptisms normally take place after Sunday morning worship (which includes three services) concludes at Grove Hill.

“It works out great for us because our house is less than a half-mile from the church,” Barron noted. “There is a large field out back, so there is plenty of parking. It is fairly simple for us to ‘relocate’ after our third service, and most of our people come to show their love and support.”

The pool baptisms started several years ago, but the gatherings have become more frequent this summer during a spiritual surge at Grove Hill.

“The church is experiencing genuine revival,” noted Josh Franks, a harvest field team leader for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board. “It’s incredible to see such an outpouring of the Spirit in one of our churches. This is what it’s all about!

“What’s going on with Barron and Grove Hill is a tangible reminder that, even in a chaotic world, Jesus is on a mission to seek and save that which is lost,” Franks said.

Though Minor was busy with spring training in Arizona and could not attend the opening, his family was on hand to represent Minor at the opening ceremonies."It makes my heart very, very warm because Mikey has said ever since he got drafted, if there was anything he could ever do, he wanted to give back to this community," Shirley Minor, the mother of Mike Minor said. "He didn't want kids to have to drive to Lewisburg to practice or to play a game. He said if I can ever do it, I'm going to have a baseball field built.""To see that happen, I can't be more prouder of him," Shirley added. "We send him pictures every day and he's kept up-to-date on everything.""We wouldn't have been able to do anything near what we have if it weren't for him," Harber said."It's also taken tons of fundraising on our part and tons of man-hours and free labor from concrete people, from excavation people, from people who care," Harber added. The work on the complex, which began in June of last year, was mostly done by volunteer labor. The CHYBSL will be joined by players and teams from Unionville, with games being held both in Chapel Hill and Unionville. The fruits of that labor will show as a large number of youth, ages 3 thru 12, will be playing in the league.“We have 32 teams this year and Chapel Hill alone has over 360 kids playing," Harber said. "Unionville has over 200 kids playing. So there's close to 600 kids playing here."The dedication of the complex was held on the field named in memory of Ross Brown, who passed away in April of last year and was a founding board member of the league. "This means so much," Leah Cook, the sister of Ross Brown said."Ross is the one who got this started in Chapel Hill. "They used to have to play out of town and Ross is the one who started this." "Ross was the original vice president of the league," Harber said. "We talked about half of these kids are from Chapel Hill. That spurned the formation of the league.""Ross was one of the most selfless people who didn't want any credit and wanted to stay out of the limelight," Harber added. "Ross would be the first one to be here and the last one who wanted any notoriety."The complex will eventually be home to four fields. Currently, two of the fields will be available on the opening weekend while a third field will be ready for play the following weekend."We will have two 200-foot fields and one 225-foot field," Harber said. "There will also be a 300-foot field.""We will have concession stands and lights will be installed on one field at a time," Harber added.A big crowd appeared for the opening ceremonies, but Harber said the attendance for the actual games will be bigger."Tomorrow, they'll be three times as many people here," Harber said. "It's just surreal and heartwarming at the same time.""It's amazing what a small community can do when everybody gets together and pulls the rope the same way.”

Tennessee dairy farmer wins NCBA’s National Anthem Contest

Stephanie Nash of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, has been selected the winner of the ninth annual National Anthem Contest for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. Nash will sing the “Star-Spangled Banner” at the 2022 Cattle Industry Convention in Houston during the Opening General Session on February 1, as well as at the Cowboy Comedy Club event on February 3.

Nash grew up in California on her family’s dairy farm and began singing in church. After her family moved the farm to Tennessee, Nash’s music career blossomed with new opportunities in the country music capital of Nashville. Nash continues to work on her family’s farm, pursue her music career, and advocate for agriculture. She developed the YouTube series “The Life of a Farmer” to showcase the farmers and ranchers across the country who work every day year-round to put food on family dinner tables.

Last year, Nash told AGDAILY, ““I really love the advocacy part of agriculture. I think as time has gone by, regulations have changed things, and people’s opinions of farmers have changed. I wanted to raise that awareness back, to how we were 10 years ago when people would come on the farm and you wouldn’t have to worry about videos perceiving a different idea of the farm or people not understanding what you do on a day-to-day basis. I want to show that these are families and this is their livelihood. This is what they love to do, and they cherish every moment, which is kind of why I started this series — just the advocacy of agriculture.”

As the winner of the National Anthem Singing Contest, Nash will receive roundtrip airfare to Houston, hotel room for three nights, convention registration, a meet-and-greet hosted by Norbrook, plus a pair of boots, jeans, and a shirt from Roper or Stetson. Nash was determined the winner by popular vote that was casted online.

“I’m passionate about agriculture and music, and I love writing songs that connect people with the agriculture community,” said Nash. “Singing at convention gives me the opportunity to combine both interests and share my love with others.”

The annual Cattle Industry Convention & NCBA trade show is the oldest and largest convention for the cattle business. The 2022 convention is Feb. 1-3, and features meetings and events of NCBA, Cattlemen’s Beef Board, CattleFax, National Cattlemen’s Foundation and American National CattleWomen.
