Personal Care Services

  • 24-Hour Care
Always Best Care helps you find the perfect round-the-clock in-home care plan to fit your loved one’s circumstances and needs. 24-hour care is support that is available to anyone who needs extra help to carry on living at home. It can include help with shopping, cooking, cleaning, washing, dressing and all other daily tasks. The need for 24-hour care can be prompted by accident, illness, dementia, frailty, disability, or frailty caused by the aging process.
  • Bathing, Grooming
    & Dressing
Bathing, dressing and grooming play a large role in a senior’s daily routines. Maintaining good personal hygiene can be vital in preventing sickness, while dressing can impact an elderly individual’s self-esteem. Grooming and dressing are integral to the activities of daily living.
  • Cognitive Impairments
Cognitive impairment is not an illness, but a description of someone’s condition. It means they have trouble with things like memory or paying attention. They might have trouble speaking or understanding. And they might have difficulty recognizing people, places or things, and might find new places or situations overwhelming.
  • Companionship
Companionship care is primarily emotional support and companionship for seniors who are generally healthy and who want to remain independent at home.
  • Errands & Transportation
Help with errands, shopping, and transportation falls under the category of Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs). These skills are necessary in order to live independently and that all of us do once we are up, out of bed, dressed, and ready to start our day. Transportation services for seniors can help maintain a level of independence without the need for the senior to drive themselves.
  • Escort to Activities
Escorting a senior to activities can help them if they feel unsafe or uncomfortable in public without accompaniment. Many trips are often used to assist seniors to utilize the services of health professionals and agencies that they otherwise would not be able to access.
  • Hospice
    Support / End-of-Life
Hospice care is for people who are nearing the end of life. The services are provided by a team of health care professionals who maximize comfort for a person who is terminally ill by reducing pain and addressing physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.
  • Hospital to Home
Following a discharge from the hospital, the first three days are critical. During this time frame and beyond, the support given to a senior and their family play a vital role in the recovery process at home. A hospital-to-home program offers a comprehensive and flexible solution that can provide the physical and emotional support needed to recover safely and comfortably.
  • Incontinence / Toileting
There are several types of incontinence, which include overflow incontinence, transient incontinence, stress incontinence, urge incontinence, and knowing a little about the different types can help the caretaker and the family make the best decisions about what levels of toileting assistance should be included in the care plan of their loved one.
  • Laundry Services
For seniors, laundry can be a challenge. As people age, they may have less energy and stamina. One of the biggest benefits of laundry services is that they can help seniors stay independent. Laundry services can also help keep seniors healthy by ensuring the are wearing clean clothing.
  • Light Housekeeping
Light housekeeping includes things like watering the plants, as well as picking up newspapers, magazines. It includes emptying the trash, vacuuming and sweeping of main walk areas. It can also include organizing drawers, shelves and closets. In a nutshell light housekeeping is completing the specific tasks required to tidy up areas that a client uses. Examples of what a light housekeeping service does not include are heavy-duty cleaning tasks that require moving heavy furniture, washing windows, cleaning carpets, or scrubbing floors. Nor does it cover outside chores, such as raking, or mowing the grass.
  • Meal Preparation
Meal preparation and eating healthy and nutritious food is important for seniors. Meal preparation assistance for the elderly is not just about cooking, but involves so much more. Maintaining a regular and consistent schedule can also play a role in emotional and physical health.
  • Medication Reminders
Medication reminders are a nonmedical service provided by a caregiver or a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). CNAs can administer medications, or speak with a doctor or pharmacist about a senior’s medicine or regime—but they do ensure medication safety and regularity.
  • Mobility
Mobility is the ability to move or walk freely and easily — is critical for functioning well and living independently. As we age, we may experience changes to our mobility. There are many reasons for these changes, including changes in gait (how we walk), balance, and physical strength.
  • Nutrition Monitoring
Nutrition is an important element of health in the older population and affects the aging process. The prevalence of malnutrition is increasing in this population and is associated with a decline in functional status, impaired muscle function, decreased bone mass, immune dysfunction, anemia, reduced cognitive function, poor wound healing, delayed recovery from surgery, higher hospital readmission rates, and mortality.
  • Overnight Care
Overnight care revolves around a multitude of services which may include help using the restroom in the middle of the night, providing fluids and snacks in the evening, and assisting with preparing for bed. Elderly individuals may also receive help with transfer assistance throughout the night. Overnight caregivers can also prepare breakfast and offer morning care.
  • Safety Supervision
Because more accidents occur inside the home than anywhere else, seniors and their caregivers must do everything in their power to make sure their homes are as safe and secure as possible. Some of the steps that can be taken to ensure homes are safe for seniors and their families include removing clutter, adding better lighting, rearranging cabinets and drawers, and assessing the safety risks of the bathroom.
  • Technology Assistance
Technology can help the elderly live independently for longer by facilitating preventive care, early detection of, and response to, emerging health issues, as well as timely support for daily tasks. Technology offers a wide range of benefits to older adults. Seniors who use technology can also feel more connected to others, can be better engaged in the community and world around them, and be more informed about current events.

“I wanted to reach out to thank you for your patience & continued help to get Mom & Dad comfortable with starting the care process. I know it took longer than expected (and certainly longer than I had hoped), but you all have already made a big impact. In talking with Mom & Dad, they both really like Ja’kayla & it sounds like she is doing a wonderful job. I can hear the relief & realization of what it means in Mom’s voice when I talk to her each week.”

“I am a current client of this provider Entrusting a third party with the care of a loved one is not an easy concept to achieve. However, when my grandmother's dementia progressed to a level that could no longer be managed on my own, I sought Alway's Best Care to lighten the burden on myself as I work full time and could no longer provide the care she needed or deserved. The company has been providing 24/7 in home care for the past couple of months and I could not be more pleased with the support, passion and assistance provided by both the caregivers and ownership. The company clearly has a drive to help others which far surpasses competitive companies in the area. Although my grandmother's dementia is progressing, I have noticed improvements socially, cognitively and physically since entrusting Alway's Best Care with her care, so much so that I have recommended this company to numerous friends and colleagues in the area and we have all reached a similar consensus regarding their exceptionability. I cannot truly express my gratification and support for this wonderful group of individuals, but I would like to thank you all for your hard work and compassion, as it has provided a light during one of our darkest hours.”

“I am a past client of this provider I was shopping around for In Home Care for my spouse. After phoning several senior services I called Always Best Care. Ellan answered the phone and I knew right off that I was talking to a very knowledgeable person that really cares about your needs. When it became necessary for my spouse to go to a memory care facility, I called Ellan. She researched and located several facilities near my home that had available rooms and met my price requirements. She scheduled an appointment at the facility of my choice. She was present at the facility for the initial interview and tour of the facility. I appreciate Ellan for caring and helping me with my spouse through this difficult transition.”

TESTIMONIALS

“I am a current client of this provider I have been using Always Best Care for approximately 6 months and I couldn't be happier with the level of care and professionalism we have received. My husband has Parkinsons Disease and a rare form of Dementia which has made him unable to use the left side of his body and for the most part he is unable to talk and communicate. I have two caregivers that come during the week, Indie and Charmarie who are both the best. They are always punctual and very dependable. My husband has always been so strong physically and mentally, and to see him as he is now is difficult. My biggest concern for him was his comfort level since he requires assistance with everything he does. Indie and Charmarie are so sensitive to his needs both physically and mentally and that has never been an issue for us. Their help has made our lives so much easier. I honestly couldn't be happier or more satisfied with the care he is receiving. I also have to mention that my dealings and interactions with their office staff has matched the care we receive here at home I feel so blessed to have them by my side.”

“I am a current client of this provider For 2 years Nurse Jen has organized my brother’s medication and does a general health check every two weeks. Organizing the meds is more than just filling the pill boxes – it includes making sure he has the proper quantity and dose of each med and authorization from his many doctors. When we first hired ABC, my brother took 19 pills each day, so it was no easy feat to make sure everything was in order. Jen is a gem! Our family appreciates the care provided by Jen and ABC.”

“I am a current client of this provider The agency is providing 24/7 care for my father. The staff is professional, caring, and supportive of his needs. They take the time to become familiar with his specific health issues and interests. We especially appreciate their caring nature and feel that he is safe while in their care. He has made excellent progress under ABC's supervision, becoming stronger, gaining weight, etc. The “care logs” provide us with information about his status and details. It is very useful to have online access at any time to the input provided by the caregivers through the “Clear Care” website. It's an excellent source of information and communication. The agency responds to all requests in a timely manner.”

FAQs About In Home Care Services

Female-Caregiver-Mobile Female-Caregiver-Desktop

Always Best Care provides services for people who prefer to stay at home but need ongoing care that cannot easily be provided by their family or friends. More and more older adults prefer to live independent, non-institutionalized lives, and in-home care is a safe, effective way to provide care in the comfort of one’s own home.

The answer depends on the type of care, the location of care and the level of care that is needed. At Always Best Care we provide a no obligation care consultation and provide advice on many options for paying for home care for your loved one.

Our company vision is to work as a united team providing the best senior care in the world, with the broadest range of services, and the most loving and consistent care anywhere. We are dedicated to exceeding your expectations…always

Your Care Coordinator will work with you and your loved one to select the best qualified caregiver for each client. They will carefully review your care plan and try to match the right caregiver with the specific needs of each client. Our goal is to make sure that you and your loved one are completely satisfied with our service and we will bend over backwards to make this happen.

Every Always Best Care location employs all their caregivers, so extensive background and reference checks are conducted. Caregivers are insured for your safety and they all receive extensive training upon being hired and on-going training to keep up with the demand of our industry. What this means for you is that you or your loved one will receive some of the best caregivers our industry has to offer.

The time frame to begin care for a senior will depend on the urgency of the need for the person and family that will be receiving care. It will be important for the senior and their family to speak with a provider in order to discuss care needs, where care will be provided, how soon care will need to begin, and a budget for their care services. Based on the needs of the senior and their family, a care plan can be developed, whether needed for a few hours each week or around the clock care.

How people pay for long-term care, whether delivered at home or in a hospital, assisted living facility, or nursing home, depends on their financial situation and the kinds of services they use. In many cases, people believe that their current health or disability insurance will pay for their long-term care needs, but most of these insurance policies include limited, if any, long-term care benefits. Often, people must rely on a variety of payment sources, including personal funds, government programs, and private financing options.

Traditional Medicare does not pay for 24-hour-a-day care at your home, meals delivered to your home, homemaker services like shopping, cleaning, and laundry that aren’t related to your care plan, custodial, or personal care that helps you with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, or using the bathroom, when this is the only care that is needed.

Home Based Primary Care is part of the VA Medical Benefits. All enrolled Veterans are eligible IF they meet the clinical need for the service and it is available.
