Iffy’s Hot Chicken and Wings opened their first location in the Fall of 2023 in Burlington New Jersey, quickly gaining a large following with rave reviews from now loyal customers as well as social media influencers who say their freshly made chicken, wings and more are some of the best in the area.
The Clementon (Gloucester Township) location is located in the Commerce Plaza taking over a unit which previously was a Little Caesars Pizza. The location puts them between Lumpy’s BBQ and Jamrock Jamaican restaurant. Dollar General is on the far right. The entire center sits back off Blackwood-Clementon Road, behind Dunkin and TD Bank
For the opening in Clementon, Iffy’s promises “Scary good heat, crispy vibes, and that Iffy’s flavor – it’s all coming to town!”
Iffy’s doesn’t have a single central website, so from what I can see Clementon would be the fourth location… Burlington is the OG, Edison NJ opened in August, and another location is in Brooklyn NY.
The signature item at iffy’s Hot Chicken is their Nashville Hot Chicken style tenders.. which are large chicken breast tenders that are battered and fried, then covered with Iffy’s signature delicious hot seasoning. You can adjust the level of heat from their base up to Afterburner and Outer Space!
Iffy’s takes the flavors even further with your choice of five different sauces; Honey BBQ, Sweet Chili, Lemon Pepper, Buffalo and Garlic Parmesan.
You can order your Iffy’s Nashville Hot style Chicken as tenders or go with a slider sandwich which adds their coleslaw, pickles and Iffy’s special sauce.
They also round out the menu with tasty sides options which include loaded fries, mozzarella sticks, coleslaw… as well as a few options for dessert.
Nashville Hot Chicken has become a “hot” restaurant trend in South Jersey with a variety of competitors.. Iffy’s further separates themselves from the competition by also offering delicious hot chicken wings.
I know some readers are likely to say.. another Hot Chicken place? But honestly in that busy Blackwood-Clementon Road commercial corridor I don’t think there are any other restaurants within a 15-minute drive. It’s honestly a different commercial sector than Cross Keys Road for example, with it’s own traffic patterns and dense suburban neighborhoods.

I stopped in yesterday and met up with owner and chef Kondor who is putting the finishing touches on the Black Horse Pike Restaurant… and he tells me he expects to open in about four weeks, before Thanksgiving.
Inside, the restaurant looks mostly ready to go! Kondor was working on finishing paint touches on the walls in the main dining room when I stopped in. All of the tables and chairs are in the space, temporarily moved off to the side as he works on the final details… so interior photos will wait for the pre-opening preview tour.

Chef Kondor of MANE-LEE-VEGAN Restaurant Blackwood, opening mid-November
The restaurant name is a clever play on “mainly vegan” but Kondor explains the only variation from a vegan menu is that he uses a high-grade therapeutic honey in some of his recipes, a product which he praises for its healthy benefits. 95% vegan and 5% Manuka honey.
For a location reference the building was previously known as Shana’s Wild Fig, and is located near Flamez Pizza and Meadows Diner.
The MANE-LEE-VEGAN signage has been up for over a year which has had many locals in the community and in online Facebook groups such as South Jersey Food Scene wondering about the details for the restaurant and when they were opening.
Owner Kondor took the extra time to build out his menu and other restaurant aspects, including sourcing the healthiest and highest quality ingredients.
MANE-LEE-VEGAN promises an elevated vegan dining experience where the menu pushes-the-envelope to make sure every aspect of the dining experience is from the healthiest ingredients.
For example, Kondor explains that while vegan means not eating anything from animal products.. french fries cooked in vegetable oil is a perfectly acceptable vegan meal… but vegetable oil is not the healthiest choice.
So at MANE-LEE-VEGAN restaurant he is using avocado oil for all of his fried items, a product that while significantly more expensive than standard cooking oils, offers the healthy lifestyle that he lives and promotes.
Kondor has made vegan and healthy eating a lifestyle choice for almost 12 years, and in my conversation with him… he really is an expert on what it takes to have an full healthy lifestyle!
With his experience he has developed a path to a full healthy dining lifestyle avoiding foods that make you feel bloated and inflamed, or cause poor digestion and lack of sleep.
He truly lives the lifestyle, promotes it to others, and now has invested in a new restaurant to bring his experience, learning and delicious recipes to the community.
We’ll have to wait for the opening for rest of the menu reveal, but in years past on his own socials he has highlighted recipes that include fresh vegetables, gluten free pasta, chick pea spaghetti and more. But again… we’ll have to wait to see!

According to the developer, Blackwood Club will feature amenities including a firing range, a cigar lounge and a gym, providing its clientele with "an unmatched firearms and educational training facility within the ultimate luxury and hospitality setting."
The building, at 266 Union St., was formerly the site of the High Exposure rock climbing gym, which closed in May.
Residents have since taken notice of the new signage out front, turning to social media to discuss the future of the site. With few details available on the club's website, many are wondering what it will be and how much it will cost.
One resident took their curiosity to Reddit, starting a thread on the Bergen County subreddit that has since gathered nearly 40 comments.
Several people on Facebook have also expressed their interest in the club, one writing in a comment, "Is there a projected opening date? Looking forward to this, especially in Bergen County."

During my visit today at the site today the demolition company showed up to drop off their heavy construction backhoe, which in a few days will be used to demolish green building which most recently was a check cashing business.
7 Brew is a newer drive-thru only coffee shop for South Jersey, offering delicious coffees and refreshing drinks including smoothies and shakes.
Earlier this year they opened their first South Jersey location which is in Washington Township on the Black Horse pike. I think everyone who’s been through that area recently, particularly in the first few months after the opening, recognize that the community has really taken to 7 Brew and their endless variety of coffee and drink flavors… based on the long lines of customers waiting at the drive-thru!
The ownership team for the New Jersey region has plans for dozens of locations, and along with the open Washington Township and the upcoming Blackwood-Clementon Road location, they have also been approved for Winslow Township on Cross Keys Road (former bank in front of ShopRite).

This 7 Brew project will extend the entire depth of the block down Dartmouth Drive, including the cleared grassy area to the back of the property.
For my coverage earlier this year, 42Freeway had acquired the site plan for the project which shows the core of the building and drive-thru lanes being positioned to the front of the property, closer to Blackwood Clementon Roadway.
While significantly most of their business is drive-thru focused, the project also includes a parking lot to the rear of the property for about a dozen cars, most likely to support employee parking.
7 Brew offers two full lanes for the drive-thru, and like some of the newer fast food restaurants… for busy times 7 Brew will position employees outside directly in that outer lane for instance to handle customer transactions.
After my initial article publication, I heard back from the owners developing the New Jersey franchise locations, who state this location is expected to open the First Quarter of 2026!
But honestly once this development effort gets started it could move very quickly, as 7 Brew has a unique development model where most of the construction is done off-site with the core coffee shop building and overhead drive-thru awnings built in an indoor construction facility.
Of course at the actual property a foundation must be created as well as utility connections and the asphalt/parking areas… but once that aspect is done a massive crane will lift the 7 Brew building and drop it right in place on the property foundation!
