Delays remain as traffic gets moving but we're seeing improving conditions in the area
ORIGINAL STORY BELOW:An important heads up if you're a morning commuter in Bucks County, Pa today (Thursday, June 5). There have been massive delays in the Willow Grove area so far this morning, and it sounds like they're about to get a little worse.
An accident has been reported on the westbound side of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276) around mile marker 346.9. That is the area between the Bensalem and Willow Grove exits (exit numbers #351 and #343.).
We first learned of the accident before 7:30 a.m. As of 8:15 a.m., we're now hearing that the roadway itself may be closed in the area as crews work clean up the accident scene.
Earlier it was reported that at least two lanes were blocked by the crash. So with the closure, you can imagine the traffic in the area will get even worse.
For now, your best bet is to avoid the area if you're traveling westbound on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bucks County, PA.. The good news, however, is that there are no major delays reported on the eastbound side of the roadway in that same area.

Bensalem, PA (June 7, 2025) – A startling crash in Bensalem on Friday morning, June 6, left a car lodged in the wall of a garage after it was rear-ended at a traffic light.
The incident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on Bristol Pike near Station Road. According to investigators, a car was stopped at a red light when it was struck from behind by a pickup truck. The impact sent the car careening across a parking lot and crashing into the side of a nearby garage.
Dramatic footage from the scene shows the front of the vehicle embedded in the structure’s wall.
Two people inside the car—a driver and a passenger—were taken to a local hospital with injuries described as stable. The truck driver was reportedly uninjured.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Bensalem—A tiny but mighty charitable organization entitled Mud In My Cleats provided six scholarships to deserving athletes who will be graduating today at Bensalem High School's graduation ceremony. The annual scholarship breakfast was held in the Cotillion Room at Parx Casino on Tuesday morning, June 10th where President Ron Davis and Treasurer Marc Cohen distributed $500 scholarship checks to the following athletes: Ashlyn Merz, Chris Kelly, Devon Bell, Jahmir Chatman, Tejas Sasan and Vanessa Shay. The students were able to bring their families and friends to celebrate and enjoy a delicious breakfast sponsored by Parx Casino.
Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo attended with some of his staff members and provided an inspirational speech to the attendees about his history of growing up on a family farm in Bensalem and his love of the Bensalem community.
Guest Speaker, Sheila Murphy also provided some motivational messaging, with lessons from her storied career as an athlete, educator, coach, and athletic director. Sheila is in several hall of fames to include the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, The Bucks County Sports Hall of Fame and Temple University's Hall of Fame.
Geoffrey Per, Principal at Bensalem High School stated, "Mud in My Cleats is a fantastic organization that’s sole purpose is to give back to the communities that supported them during their NFL careers. Bensalem HS was honored to have 6 students receive a scholarship to help offset the cost of their college tuition. Our students enjoyed the retired NFL speakers, their wisdom and commitment to serving their communities was inspiring. They really stressed the importance of character, being kind, and giving back and our students and their families really enjoyed the message along with Parx Casino incredible hospitality in hosting the event."
Ron Davis closed the event with the moving song, "Lean on Me" which he sang a cappella, as the audience enthusiastically joined in! Ron later commented, "This scholarship event is always one of my favorite days of the year, and I am so happy to be part of this thriving community!"
Mud In My Cleats' board is made up of former NFL football players - Brad Quast, Robert Grupp, Ron Davis, Carl Petitti and Joseph Wilson. Additional board members include Marc Cohen and Morgan Bennyhoff.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — The township has announced plans and a date for its annual family fall festival.
Township officials said the festival celebrating community pride will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Bensalem Township Municipal Complex at 2400 Byberry Road.
Officials said the free, fun family event will feature activities, food trucks, a beer garden, a free concert, an evening headliner concert, and fireworks. Parking will be limited.
The free concert on the side stage features The Little Mermen - The Ultimate Disney Tribute Band
Meanwhile, the free evening concert at the Penn Community Bank Amphitheater will showcase Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and founding member of The Cars, Greg Hawkes (with Eddie Japan), performing the band's classic music.
