UPDATE – September 2026: Rize Pizza is back in business. The Broomall staple has reopened in Lawrence Park Shopping Center after a months-long renovation and expansion that closed its doors in April.
Takeout service resumed Sept. 2, and customers can now enjoy patio dining while the final phase of construction wraps up.
The project ran longer than expected, but momentum picked up over the summer when McGonigle & Company Builders took over as contractor.
By mid-August, Rize reported major progress and said a reopening was finally within reach.
The renovation isn’t just cosmetic. Rize is expanding into the neighboring storefront to create a full-service dining area, a first for a pizzeria that’s built its reputation on takeout.
Crews are putting the finishing touches on the new space now, and customers can take a peek inside to see their progress.
No official opening date has been set for the sit-down portion, but for now, Broomall residents can once again grab their favorite pies, and even stick around outside to eat them.

Rize Pizza is coming back bigger.
The popular Broomall pizzeria in the Lawrence Park Shopping Center is preparing to reopen this summer after closing in April for renovations and a major expansion, June Bakan reports for Patch.
Located at 1991 Sproul Road, Rize is remodeling its original space and expanding into the storefront next door.
The added square footage will let the pizzeria introduce full-service dining for the first time, a notable shift for a spot long known for takeout. The original side will keep serving takeout customers, while the new space is expected to offer a sit-down restaurant experience.
Rize has not set an official reopening date, but the business expects to welcome customers back sometime this summer.
“We are working hard to get Rize reopened for you, bigger and better than ever!” wrote the business on Facebook.
The pizzeria has been sharing construction progress along the way, including a recent look at the new glass storefront in the expanded space.
Rize plans to continue posting updates on social media as the work wraps up.
The reopening marks a new chapter for a pizzeria built on its artisan-style menu and distinctive crust options.
Rize is known for its signature square “Rize Crust,” topped with sesame seeds on the bottom, alongside traditional round pies and gluten-free cauliflower crusts. Specialty pizzas include the Upside Down, Angry Bird, Southern Belle, Green Dream, Venus, and Rib Eye Cheesesteak.
Owner Julia Angelos drew inspiration from her grandparents, who ran their own restaurant decades ago.
She’s shaped Rize into a local destination through creative menu items, customer input, and a community-minded approach.
For now, the neighborhood has another reason to watch the storefront at Lawrence Park as Rize prepares for its return.
