Raymond Holman gave his team, the Morrisville Bulldogs, a chance every time he stepped on the field.
And, for a team that has struggled through the years, that's quite a statement.
"When you look at what Raymond did for our program, it's more than fair to say that he helped put Morrisville football back on the map," Morrisville head coach Mitch Cohen said.
"Not only is he a great football player, but he helped give our team the confidence that if they all played well, we could win."
Morrisville's Holman dominated in past two seasons
Consider: Over the last two seasons, the Bulldogs went a combined 15-11 (9-4 this past season) and won back-to-back PIAA District One Class A titles for the first time.
In the previous eight seasons, Morrisville went a combined 20-68 and did not have a winning season.
In the two seasons, Holman, a running back, ran for 3,847 yards and 41 touchdowns.
He leaves the program as the school's all-time leader in every rushing category.
It adds up to Holman being named the Bucks County Courier Times/Intelligencer Offensive Player of the Year.
Morrisville's Holman has remained humble
"I couldn't have done any of it without my teammates," said Holman, who has committed to play his college football at Morgan State University.
"I've really enjoyed the chance to play football with all of these guys and it was just a lot of fun."
And, while Holman prefers not to talk about his football talents, Cohen is more than willing to rave about his standout running back.
Morrisville's Holman's numbers were fantastic
"To me, the numbers don't lie," Cohen said. "When you look at his last two seasons, he averaged almost 10 yards per carry. That's crazy.
"I just regret that he came so close to running for 2,000 yards as both a junior and a senior. He had such great seasons in both of those years and that would have been a nice milestone for him to reach.
"He was the BAL (Bicentennial Athletic League) Player of the Year and he'll be remembered as one of, if not the best player, the school has ever had. That's how good he is.
"And he's a better person than he is a player — just a super kid. And he's going to go on and have a great career at Morgan State."
