A native of Spartanburg County, Eddie was born on July 6, 1959, to the late Curtis Edward Evans, Sr., and Epsylean Mims Evans.
A 1978 graduate of James F. Byrnes High School, Eddie was known amongst his classmates and many friends for his lively and fun personality. He retired from Venture Measurement Company and was best known for owning his business, Evans Lawn Care, for several decades. Eddie worked for Lyman United Methodist Church for over 16 years.
To know Eddie was to love him. He never met a stranger, and he was always willing to help someone if they were in need. His jokes were the center of family gatherings, and he had a way of captivating an audience that made you feel connected to all who knew him. Those who knew Eddie, knew his love for his cowboy boots!

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The South Carolina Stingrays have re-signed defenseman Connor Moore for the 2026-27 ECHL season, the team announced Thursday.
Moore, 29, returns for his seventh season with the Stingrays after recording 28 points on three goals and 25 assists in 55 regular-season games last season. His 25 assists led all South Carolina defensemen, while his 28 points ranked second among the club's blueliners.
The Cumming, Georgia, native also posted career-best playoff numbers during the 2026 Kelly Cup Playoffs, tallying three goals and seven assists for 10 points. His three playoff goals were tied for the most among ECHL defensemen, and his 10 points ranked fourth.

"Connor has been an important part of this organization, and we're happy to have him back," head coach Jesse Kallechy said in a statement. "He's a dependable player who competes every night, plays the game the right way, and can be counted on in any situation. His leadership and experience will be a big part of helping our group continue to grow this season."
Moore has served as an alternate captain for the past four seasons and is the longest-tenured player on South Carolina's active roster. He has appeared in 333 career ECHL games, all with the Stingrays, ranking seventh in franchise history. His 145 career assists rank eighth all-time for the organization, and he has totaled 172 career points on 27 goals and 145 assists.
"I'm excited to be back for year seven," Moore said. "I can't wait to get things going in October and see the North Charleston Coliseum packed again!"
Moore is the first defenseman signed by South Carolina this offseason. He joins forwards Luka Burzan, Charlie Combs, Alex Dostie, Adam Hall and Justin Hall on the Stingrays' growing 2026-27 roster.
