A new pizza restaurant and 36-hole miniature golf course are headed for a growing community in the Greenville area.
Taylor’s Station, led by entrepreneur Chad Choquette, will bring a $6 million investment to Wade Hampton Boulevard in Taylors, according to a news release.
Choquette is joined by multiple partners, including John Malik, a longtime chef in the area and James Beard Award nominee, as well as Alex Reynolds, a community leader.
“Every community needs a place where people can come together to enjoy good food, fun activities, and a welcoming atmosphere,” Choquette said. “Taylor’s Station is more than just a business; it’s a destination designed to bring joy to Taylors and beyond.”
The name borrows from the history of the community, which was originally named after Alfred Taylor’s railroad station. The apostrophe was dropped in the early 1900s.
Greenville Chorale names new artistic director, who’s headed for Carnegie Hall
An associate professor of music at Clemson University has been appointed artistic director and conductor of Greenville Chorale.
Anthony Bernarducci will succeed Bingham Vick Jr., who will retire in September after 45 years at the helm of the organization, according to a March 20 news release.
“Dr. Bernarducci’s extensive experience in conducting, teaching, and composing makes him an ideal choice for this role. He is well-equipped to carry forward the rich traditions and artistic excellence established by Dr. Bing Vick, ensuring the continued growth and success of the Chorale,” Search committee chair Randy Traynham said.
This year, Bernarducci will make his directorial debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City, performing Mozart’s “Mass in C Major, K. 317, ‘Coronation,’” presented by MidAmerica Productions featuring the New England Symphonic Ensemble.
Greenville Chorale, a 160-voice choir, has been performing for 64 years.
Downtown Spartanburg is seeing more than $600M in development. Here's a breakdown.
There’s so much going up, and still so much yet to go up, that it’s easy to lose track of what all is coming to the city’s center within a few years. Once a sleepy area that struggled to attract visitors, the downtown is transforming into a sports and entertainment district.
Minor league baseball games, concerts and other live events will soon be just short walks away from Morgan Square, which already features a thriving dining scene. It should be busier, too, as office workers, apartment tenants and hotel visitors will add to the downtown population.
Here’s a breakdown, featuring updated reporting and timelines.
