Green Lane Park has announced its upcoming events in late February and March. The public is encouraged to register to attend these upcoming family-friendly events.
Waterfowl Watch
Saturday, February 26 and Saturday, March 12 at 1 p.m.
Green Lane Park has a rich Ornithological history, and is an official Important Bird Area in Pennsylvania. During this program, we will visit three birding hotspots within the park in search of ducks, geese, swans and other birds. Maple Sugar Magic
Saturday, March 5 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Join us to learn about the centuries-old tradition of making syrup and sugar from the sap of Sugar Maple Trees. In addition to a live demonstration of the sugaring process, we will have pure Pennsylvania Maple syrup, cream and candy available for purchase. Suitable for all ages. This program will be held at the Hill Road Day Use Area (2821 Hill Road, Green Lane, PA 18054)
Timberdoodle Time
Saturday, March 26 at 7 p.m.
Join us for an evening stroll to look and listen for the courtship display of the American Woodcock. With such colorful nicknames as “Bog Sucker” and “Timberdoodle,” this is one you do not want to miss. Suitable for ages 9 to adult. Pre-registration is required. About Green Lane Park
Green Lane Park, in northwestern Montgomery County, offers a variety of year-round, outdoor activities and programs for people to choose from. Park visitors can enjoy fishing, boating (including boat rentals), family and group camping, picnicking, 25 miles of trails for horseback riding, mountain biking and hiking, as well as two children’s playgrounds. Winter enthusiasts can cross-country ski, ice fish or go ice skating, weather permitting. The park also offers summer concerts and family-oriented, environmental education programs on weekends. The park is open daily from 6 a.m. to sunset.
