Mama Hawk's Kitchen and Coffee has opened for business inside the James Michener Art Museum in Doylestown. Through a partnership between the museum and the Peddler’s Village cafe, Mama Hawks will be open during museum hours for locals and tourists at 138 South Pine Street. The new cafe is offering a favorites menu with specialty coffee, house-made baked goods, and fresh salads and sandwiches.

A new hair salon has opened its doors in Newtown Borough next to the Newtown Laundry Center. The Newtown Business Association joined salon owners Sara Micklas and Deanna Saly, in cutting the ribbon on the new Salon LC at 24 North State Street, officially welcoming the new business to town. While the new 1500-square-foot salon offers all the traditional salon services, it specializes in blonding (hair lightening) and hair extensions, both offered in a relaxed, luxurious setting.

A Lower Bucks County firm has received a $1 million state loan to relocate from Fairless Hills to an industrial park in Upper Southampton. Filter Services Inc., through the EDC Finance Corp., was approved for a $1 million loan at a 5.25 percent fixed interest rate to acquire a 23,850-square-foot manufacturing facility on 1.5 acres at 1105 Industrial Boulevard in Upper Southampton. The manufacturer and provider of filtration products is relocating 11 miles from its current location at 225 Lincoln Highway in Fairless Hills.

The Reach Out Committee of the Bucks County Association of Realtors will be collecting donations of school supplies through July 31 at offices throughout the county. All donated items will benefit the Bucks County Housing Group, helping ensure children across the county have the tools they need for a successful school year ahead.
