WARRINGTON, PA — Philadelphia cheesesteak royalty is coming to Warrington.
Steve’s Prince of Steaks will be opening a new location on Easton Road across from Target, the eatery announced on its Facebook page.
“We are hoping soon,” said the eatery after being asked when they expect to open. “Look for an announcement!”
Steve’s Prince of Steaks has been a Philadelphia institution for more than 40 years. It was founded by Steven Iliescu in 1980, at the corner of Bustleton Avenue and St. Vincent Street, near Cottman Avenue.
The eatery’s website describes its steaks as the "freshest ingredients with specially-made rolls, and the best quality rib-eye steak available for a cheesesteak experience you will not forget."
This will be the eatery’s second location in Bucks and its fifth location overall. Other locations are in Northeast Philadelphia on Bustleton Avenue, near Reedman-Toll on Lincoln Highway in Langhorne, just off Roosevelt Boulevard at the Woodhaven exit and in Wildwood, New Jersey.
Steve's Prince of Steaks bills itself as "the best traditional cheesesteak in Philadelphia.
“One bite and you’ll be a loyal subject for life," says its website. "Cooked right before your eyes, so there is no disguise. We use the freshest ingredients, our specially made rolls, and the best quality rib-eye steak available for a cheesesteak experience you will not forget.”
According to the restaurant, cheese steak consumption has its own etiquette. When ordering, there are two critical questions to answer: First, what kind of cheese do you want? (Whiz? Provolone? American?) Second, do you want onions?
If you want whiz and onions, request a “Whiz wit.” Not into onions? Then ask for a “Whiz Widout,” which will yield a sandwich with Cheez Whiz and no onions. Next, ask for any other toppings or condiments you desire. Then, sit down and enjoy a scrumptious cheesesteak.”
The eatery’s fans are beyond excited by the news. One wrote, “Wow, this is great news. I always said Steve's Prince of Steaks was the best in the entire Philadelphia area so now to get one in the burbs is great for everyone.”
