Home Care In Linwood, MA

Home Care Linwood, MA

They say that your golden years are the best years of your life. For most older Americans, that's how it should be - a time to relax, reflect, and live life in a familiar place. After all, senior citizens in the U.S. have worked tirelessly to build a better economy, serve their communities, and raise families.

However, as seniors grow older, completing daily tasks like showering and enjoying activities such as visiting the historic Linwood Historical Society gets harder without someone by their side. Unfortunately, many older Americans aren't able to rely on their adult children for help. The reality in today's world is that family members do not have the skills or time to dedicate to caring for their parents. That's where Always Best Care Senior Services comes in.

Our in-home care services are for people who prefer to stay at home as they grow older but need ongoing care that family or friends cannot provide. More and more older adults prefer to live far away from long-term, institutionalized facilities and closer to the place where they feel most comfortable - their home. Home care in Linwood, MA is a safe, effective way to give your loved ones the care they need when they need it the most.

“I am a past client of this provider We worked with Always Best Care to provide 24-hour care for our parents who needed additional help to stay in their home. The care workers were helpful, caring, and provided the support and peace of mind needed. In addition to the care workers, office staff were regularly reachable and patient with multiple questions! Although it was a short term placement, about 3 months, I'd recommend and would use them again if the need arises.”

“I can’t say enough great things about Always Best Care Senior Services! We used them to help move my aunt from Boston to Phoenix, and I literally couldn’t have done it without them. From my first interaction with Ron to set things up to Kingsley helping (that word doesn’t begin to describe his patience and calmness) to the most amazing caregiver I’ve ever encountered, Sarah, they handled her every need while also ensuring me it would all be okay. Another passenger on the plane even commented how amazing Sarah was with my aunt! They were truly Heaven sent, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone for any health care they provide!”

TESTIMONIALS

“My mom is 93 and had COVID-19, requiring hospitalization for shortness of breath and treatment with oxygen. I would have cared for my mom, but I got sick. I contacted ABCSS twelve hours before I started caring for my mom. My mom had some brain fog and some fluid balance issues. They responded that they could provide my mom with 11 hours of care a day, starting the day I was to be there. The next morning, an aide came with a supervisor to see my Mom. My goals for that day were small: to coax my mother to see the hairdresser, wash her hair, and ensure she took her medications. The aide was able to do that, to give my mom medication that was set out, to encourage her to drink and to walk in the halls. The following day, the aide encouraged her to shower and get dressed. My mom left her apartment to go to the dining room and eat with her friends. My mom might have required another hospitalization without the aide coaxing her to eat and drink reliably. Having an aide helped my mom regain some of her independence despite her brain fog and helped reinstitute the daily schedule that my mom had before her hospitalization. I had initially been contracted for 8 days, but with my mother's progress, I could terminate one-to-one care in just 6 days! I helped by setting daily goals, but the aide coaxed my mother toward health. I highly recommend this agency. I thank Georgianna for her care of my mother.”

“I am a current client of this provider Always Best Care of Greater Worcester is wonderful. The person who answers the telephone (her name is Donna), and she's older like we are. She has a clue about what we're talking about when we're asking for help and why, so it becomes a very personal conversation. I was introduced to the director. He is an RN, plus a few other things. When he comes in to do the assessment for what you need, he works really hard at putting together the right caregiver with the person asking. He was just absolutely lovely. We needed somebody who could drive to do errands, and then I needed help with the laundry and occasional meals. The caregiver picks up and tidies around. She does bathing for my husband, who is almost bedbound. She does other simple health-related things for him. For me, she helps with my bathing because I have a bad back and bad knees. She's nice, and she's sweet. She can be a little tough when she needs to be, which is what we wanted. Not to be abusive, but just someone with a firm hand. When you don't feel well, you tend to act like a 7-year-old; it doesn't matter how old you are. She is just lovely. We couldn't ask for anything better.”

What is Non-Medical Senior Care in Linwood, MA?

lm-check

Home is where the heart is. While that saying can sound a tad cliche, it is especially true for many seniors living in America. When given a choice, older adults most often prefer to grow older at home. An AARP study found that three out of four adults over the age of 50 want to stay in their homes and communities as they age.

lm-check

When you begin to think about why, it makes sense. Home offers a sense of security, comfort, and familiarity.

lm-check

The truth is, as we age, we begin to rely on others for help. When a family is too busy or lives too far away to fulfill this role, in-home senior care is often the best solution. Home care services allow seniors to enjoy personal independence while also receiving trustworthy assistance from a trained caregiver.

lm-check

At Always Best Care, we offer a comprehensive range of home care services to help seniors stay healthy while they get the help they need to remain independent. As your senior loved one gets older, giving them the gift of senior care is one of the best ways to show your love, even if you live far away.

Respite Care

Respite Care Services

According to AARP, more than 53 million adults living in the U.S. provide care to someone over 50 years old. Unfortunately, these caregivers experience stress, exhaustion, and even depression. Our respite care services help family caregivers address urgent obligations, spend time with their children, and enjoy nearby activities. Perhaps more importantly, respite care gives family members time to recharge and regroup. Taking personal time to de-stress reduces the risk of caregiver burnout. So, if you've always wanted to eat at the local Romanelli's On the Greene or visit Blackstone Heritage Corridor, Inc., don't feel bad. Doing so is great for both you and your loved one.

At the end of the day, our goal is to become a valuable part of your senior's daily routine. That way, we may help give them the highest quality of life possible. We know that staying at home is important for your loved one, and we are here to help make sure that is possible.

If you have been on the fence about non-medical home care, there has never been a better time than now to give your senior the care, assistance, and companionship they deserve.

Aging in Place: The Preferred Choice for Most Seniors

While it's true that some seniors have complicated medical needs that prevent them from staying at home, aging in place is often the best arrangement for seniors and their families. With a trusted caregiver, seniors have the opportunity to live with a sense of dignity and do so as they see fit - something that is unavailable to many older people today.

In-home care makes it possible for millions of seniors to age in place every year. Rather than moving to a strange nursing home, seniors have the chance to stay at home where they feel the happiest and most comfortable.

Here are just a few of the reasons why older men and women prefer to age at home:

How much does a senior's home truly mean to them?

A study published by the American Society on Aging found that more than half of seniors say their home's emotional value means more than how much their home is worth in monetary value. It stands to reason, then, that a senior's home is where they want to grow old.

With the help of elderly care in Linwood, MA, seniors don't have to age in a sterilized care facility. Instead, they can age gracefully in the place they want to be most: their home. In contrast, seniors who move to a long-term care facility must adapt to new environments, new people, and new systems that the facility implements. At this stage in life, this kind of drastic change can be more harmful than helpful.

Institutional care facilities like nursing homes often put large groups of people together to live in one location. On any given day, dozens of staff members and caregivers run in and out of these facilities. Being around so many new people in a relatively small living environment can be dangerous for a seniors' health and wellbeing. When you consider that thousands of seniors passed away in nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, opting for in-home care is often a safer, healthier choice for seniors.

Aging in place has been shown to improve seniors' quality of life, which helps boost physical health and also helps insulate them from viral and bacterial risks found in elderly living facilities.

For many seniors, the ability to live independently with assistance from a caregiver is a priceless option. With in-home care, seniors experience a higher level of independence and freedom - much more so than in other settings like a nursing home. When a senior has the chance to age in place, they get to live life on their own terms, inside the house that they helped make into a home. More independence means more control over their personal lives, too, which leads to increased levels of fulfillment, happiness, and personal gratification. Over time, these positive feelings can manifest into a healthier, longer life.

More independence, a healthier life, and increased comfort are only a few benefits of aging in place. You have to take into consideration the role of cost and convenience. Simply put, it's usually easier and more affordable to help seniors age in place than it is to move them into an institutional care facility. According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, seniors who age in the comfort of their homes can save thousands of dollars per month.

In-home care services from Always Best Care, for instance, are often less expensive than long-term solutions, which can cost upwards of six figures per year. To make matters worse, many residential care facilities are reluctant to accept long-term care insurance and other types of payment assistance.

With Always Best Care's home care services, seniors and their families have a greater level of control over their care plans. In-home care gives seniors the chance to form a bond with a trusted caregiver and also receive unmatched care that is catered to their needs. In long-term care facilities, seniors and their loved ones have much less control over their care plan and have less of a say in who provides their care.

 Elderly Care Linwood, MA

Affordable Care

In-home care is a valuable resource that empowers seniors to age in place on their own terms. However, a big concern for many families and their loved ones is how much in-home care costs. If you're worried that in-home care is too expensive, you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that it is one of the most affordable senior care arrangements available.

Typically, hiring an Always Best Care in-home caregiver for a few hours a week is more affordable than sending your loved one to a long-term care facility. This is true even for seniors with more complex care needs.

At Always Best Care, we will work closely with you and your family to develop a Care Plan that not only meets your care needs, but your budget requirements, too. Once we discover the level of care that you or your senior need, we develop an in-home care plan that you can afford.

In addition to our flexible care options, families should also consider the following resources to help offset potential home care costs:

If your loved one qualifies, Medicaid may help reduce in-home care costs. Review your MA's Medicaid program laws and benefits, and make sure your senior's financial and medical needs meet Medicaid eligibility requirements.
Attendance and aid benefits through military service can cover a portion of the costs associated with in-home care for veterans and their spouses.
Many senior care services like in-home care are included in long-term care insurance options. Research different long-term care solutions to find a plan that provides coverage for senior care.
Home care can be included as part of a senior's private insurance plan. Read over your loved one's insurance policy carefully or speak with their insurance provider to determine if in-home care is covered.
Depending on the life insurance plan, you may be able to apply your policy toward long-term care. You may be able to use long-term-care coverage to help pay for in-home elderly care.
 Senior Care Linwood, MA

Compassionate Care. Trusted Caregivers.

When you or your senior loved one needs assistance managing daily tasks at home, finding a qualified caregiver can be challenging. It takes a special kind of person to provide reliable care for your senior loved one. However, a caregiver's role involves more than meal preparation and medication reminders. Many seniors rely on their caregivers for companionship, too.

Our companion care services give seniors the chance to socialize in a safe environment and engage in activities at home. These important efforts boost morale and provide much-needed relief from repetitive daily routines. A one-on-one, engaging conversation can sharpen seniors' minds and give them something in which to be excited.

At Always Best Care, we only hire care providers that we would trust to care for our own loved ones. Our senior caregivers in Linwood, MA understand how important it is to listen and communicate with their seniors. A seemingly small interaction, like a short hug goodbye, can make a major difference in a senior's day. Instead of battling against feelings of isolation, seniors begin to look forward to seeing their caregiver each week.

Understanding the nuances of senior care is just one of the reasons why our care providers are so great at their job.

Unlike some senior care companies, our caregivers must undergo extensive training before they work for Always Best Care. In addition, our caregivers receive ongoing training throughout the year. This training ensures that their standard of care matches up to the high standards we've come to expect. During this training, they will brush up on their communication skills, safety awareness, and symptom spotting. That way, your loved one receives the highest level of non-medical home care from day one.

Assisted Living Referral Services

While it's true that many seniors prefer to age at home, sometimes in-home care isn't the best fit. For those seniors and their families, choosing an assisted living facility makes more sense. Unfortunately, finding the optimal care facility is easier said than done in today's day and age. That's when Always Best Care's assisted living referral services begin to make a lot of sense.

Assisted living is a form of housing intended for seniors who require varying degrees of medical and personal attention. Accommodations may include single rooms, apartments, or shared living arrangements. Assisted living communities are typically designed to resemble a home-like environment and are physically constructed to encourage the independence of residents.

Respite Care Linwood, MA

At assisted living communities, seniors receive help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating. They may also benefit from coordination of services with outside healthcare providers, and monitoring of resident activities to ensure their health, safety, and well-being. Caregivers who work at assisted living communities can also provide medication administration and personal care services for older adults.

Other services offered within assisted living communities can include some or all of the following:

  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry
  • Recreational Activities
  • Social Outings
  • Emergency Medical Response
  • Medication Monitoring
  • Family Visitation
  • Personal Care
 Caregivers Linwood, MA

At Always Best Care, our representatives can match your senior's emotional, physical, and financial needs with viable assisted living communities nearby. Results are based on comparative data, so you can select the best choice for you or your loved one.

Always Best Care works closely with local senior living communities to gain valuable knowledge that we then use to help seniors and their loved ones make informed decisions. This information can include basic care and rent, resident availability, and services provided. Because Always Best Care is compensated by these communities, we provide senior living referral services at no extra cost to you.

Some of the most popular assisted living communities to consider in our area include the following:

  • Brandywine Living at Brandall Estates
  • Complete Care at Linwood
  • Wright Choice for Home Health Care
  • Senior Helpers
  • Linwood convalescent center
  • Somers Place
Home Care Linwood, MA

For many seniors, moving into a senior living community revolves around how and when they want to make a transition to more involved care. Some seniors are more proactive about transitioning to independent living. Others choose to remain home until their care needs or other requirements are satisfied. Full-service real estate and property management firm Peabody Properties (http://www.peabodyproperties.com) is proud to announce that Jean Mistretta, a resident of Whitinsville’s Linwood Mill (a Peabody Properties community), was selected as a winner in this year’s National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) Calendar Contest.

The annual contest, this year with the theme “Learning Will Get Me Where I’m Going: Reaching for Knowledge,” is open to children, elderly or special needs residents living in a NAHMA community.

Mistretta, 74, was one of two Peabody Properties residents to be selected for the National 2018 NAHMA Calendar, and one of 23 award winners overall, out of almost 5,000 entries. Winnie Mei, 17, a resident of Charlesview Residences in Brighton, Mass., was also selected. In addition to their artwork being featured in the calendar, both will receive a $1,000 educational scholarship from the NAHMA Educational Foundation.

This year, about 150 entries from 15 different Peabody properties were received; after much deliberation, the judging committee comprised of six members of Peabody Properties’ resident service staff selected 20 entries for submission to NEAHMA for the next voting round.

Of the more than 250 posters received by NEAHMA from throughout New England, three posters entered by Peabody Properties were named Regional Winners. In addition to Mistretta, who placed first in the senior category, and Mei, who placed first in the grades 10-12 category and was also designated as Best in Show Winner, Justin Lopez, a resident of Anchor’s Weigh in Chelsea, Mass., placed third in the grades 4-6 category.

“We are so proud of Jean, Winnie, and of all of our resident artists,” said Lynne Sales, director of resident services for Peabody Properties, Inc. “NAHMA’s contest is a great opportunity for us to showcase the vast talent residing within our communities, and to promote awareness for the importance of education in a fun and imaginative way. It is inspiring to see that so many of our residents submitted entries.”

Spread betting and contracts for difference (CFD) operator IG Group has agreed to acquire brokerage and “ trading education” platform Tastytrade for $1.0bn (£727.9m/€823.6m), after reporting record revenue for the six months ended 30 November 2020.

Tastytrade consists of two brands: media brand Tastytrade, which offers education to traders about options and futures markets; and brokerage platform Tastyworks, which boasts 105,000 active accounts and makes up 1.3% of the entire US equity options market by trading volume.

“Together, tastytrade provides ambitious retail traders with the education and confidence to trade in derivative products, whilst tastyworks provides them with a powerful, modern and easy-to-use trading platform to utilise this knowledge,” IG’s board said.

IG Group said the deal – consisting of a $300m cash sum and 61.0m new IG Group shares priced at $11.47 each – allows it to enter the world’s largest derivatives market, the US, which it says includes around 1.5m retail traders.

Of the cash sum required for the deal, £150m will come from new debt facilities and the remaining £68.3m from existing cash. Upon completion, Tastytrade shareholders will hold 14.1% of IG Group shares.

IG Group said the acquisition also allows it to diversify its offering as Tastytrade focuses mostly on options and futures, which are popular assets in the US market, rather than spread betting and CFDs.

“I am thrilled to welcome Tastytrade to the IG Group family,” IG chief executive June Felix said. “This acquisition will materially expand and scale our business in the US and see us further diversify into the exciting high growth market of US retail options and futures, a market which is adjacent to IG’s core retail trading skill set.

“The US market has more than 1.5 million retail traders and is the largest derivatives market in the world. Tastytrade has grown impressively and proven itself to be an innovative market disrupter passionately committed to delivering for their clients.

“The financial and strategic rationale underpinning this deal are compelling. I am confident that with our shared client-centric ethos, passion for innovation and growth, IG and tastytrade will prove a winning combination.”

Finally, IG Group said Tastytrade’s fast growth to a major player in the US brokerage market – with annual revenue growth averaging 49% between the 2018 and 2020 calendar years, showed it was a very strong business.

The acquisition will also see four Tastytrade members join the IG Group board: chief executive Scott Sheridan, co-chief executives Tom Sosnoff and Kristi Ross and chief technology officer Linwood Ma.

Sosnoff said the deal allowed Tastytrade to achieve its goal of becoming a global platform.

“Early on we knew Tastytrade was a very special company,” Sosnoff said. “While our long-term goal has always been to go global, we waited almost 10 years until we found the right partner and perfect match.

“Together we will focus on empowering the self-directed investor and change the way people perceive and engage with financial markets.”

The deal is subject to approval from competition and regulatory authorities. IG Group said it expects the deal to close in the three months ended 31 August 2021, the first quarter of its 2021-22 financial year.

IG also announced its financial results for the first half of its 2020-21 year today. Net trading revenue was up 67.1% year-on-year to £416.9m.

After paying betting duty and accounting for interest on client funds and other operating income, its net operating revenue came to £420.4m, up 64.8%.

Its operating costs, meanwhile, grew 22.1% to £188.2m. The IG Group paid £162.8m in operating expenses, up 18.0%, plus £25.4m in variable remuneration of staff, a 63.2% year-on-year increase.

This led to an operating profit increasing by 131.7% to £232.2m.

After financial costs of £900,000, IG Group’s pre-tax profit totalled £231.3m, up 128.9%.

The group paid £44.2m in tax, more than double its tax bill from the prior year, leasing to a post-tax profit of £187.1m, up 127.2% year-on-year.

“Our financial performance metrics in the period have been outstanding, delivering record revenue and profits, with profit before tax 129% higher than the prior period,” Felix said. “This performance would not have been possible without the continued commitment of our people and the resilience and flexibility of our technology.

“Our strong brand, long-standing commitment to client service and improvements to our marketing capability have supported a record 238,600 clients trading with us during the first half of the financial year.”

The market volatility and acquisition opportunities from the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic have significantly boosted the IG Group’s revenue. In the 2020 fiscal year, the group took in revenue of £649.2m, of which £259.5m was made in the three months ended 31 May 2020.

HAVERHILL — Take a walk through the Linwood Cemetery and you might notice small signs attached to certain trees. An effort to identify and label some of the oldest and most interesting trees in the city turned up 27 species spread throughout the sprawling cemetery.

They include ginkgo, European larch, tuliptree, sycamore, several species of maple, spruce and birch and more.

And some of those trees are believed to be among the oldest in the city, notably a more than 200-year-old copper beech tree that bears numerous initials that were carved into its smooth, gray bark many years ago.

The 9 1/2 foot wide beech tree that is in the northeast corner of the cemetery, just off Boardman Street, is a popular stopping point for when cemetery marketing director Gordon Stone takes potential plot buyers and others on tours of the property.

"I always stop and show them this tree and its carvings," Stone said during a recent trip through the cemetery.

This private, nonprofit and non-denominational cemetery dates back to 1830 and became a private, nonprofit corporation in 1845, more than a decade before the start of the Civil War in 1861.

Stone said the idea to identify and label the cemetery's trees originated from the planting last year of many new trees. At that time many unhealthy trees were taken down.

He said some of those included five old white pine trees with shallow roots that were heaving headstones as well as weak trees that were susceptible to damage and some diseased sugar maples. About 30 hemlocks were removed from the perimeter of the cemetery as they were infested with the Wooley Adelgid, the same insect that infested hemlock in Winnekenni Park and were removed a few years ago.

"We had a tree expert identify and label 27 species trees, the ones that are along walking and driving paths," Stone said. "The labels include the common name of the tree and the Latin (scientific) name."

Ryan Guilbault, a registered landscape architect who operates Ground Work Studio LLC in Amesbury, was hired to develop a master plan that maps out the locations and types of trees on the property and will be updated as things evolve.

"I tagged nearly all of the mature trees on the cemetery interior, unless they were in noticeably poor condition or part of a mass planting along a fenceline or edge," he said about the 79 mature trees that were cataloged and labeled.

Guilbault skipped labeling smaller ornamental trees as well as the 42 new trees he planted last spring, choosing to focus on what he said are Linwood's older and most "interesting" trees. They include a ginkgo biloba tree, or Maindenhair tree that isn't the oldest on the property, but has a unique fan-shaped leaf. He said the Ginkgo is the only living species within its family.

Guilbault said the small plastic naming plates are attached with spring loaded screws that enable trees to continue to grow against them.

Stone sees the project as offering an educational opportunity to young and old.

"This would be a good learning lesson for anyone interested in nature, including Boy and Girl scouts, or anyone who enjoys walking or driving through our cemetery," Stone said.

"We have a lot of people who just walk or jog here, and we also have a fair amount of wildlife, including foxes and woodchucks," Stone said. "It's a good, safe place to walk and our roads are in good repair."

"People tell us our trees are spectacular, particularly when they bud in the spring and when they change color in the fall," Stone added. "It's just gorgeous."

The 27 species of trees at the Linwood Cemetery include:

Sugar maple

Norway maple

Crimson king maple

Flowering dogwood

European weeping birch

Green ash

Copper beech

Honeylocust

Ginkgo Biloba

Tuliptree

Pin oak

Sycamore

Littleleaf linden

Canadian hemlock

European larch

HAVERHILL — A typical cemetery expansion involves carving out a section of land for new burial plots.

But Linwood Cemetery has expanded by offering something different — and if you've driven past the main entrance lately, you've likely seen it.

Construction of a Memory Wall that began in October has been completed, and now the niches are slowly filling up with the cremated remains, or "cremains" of loved ones.

The 120-foot-long niche wall is made of granite. It's located near the cemetery's main entrance on Mill Street.

Gordon Stone, marketing director for Linwood Cemetery & Crematory, said this part of the cemetery is highly desirable due to its easy access, historic grave sites neighboring the Memory Wall and proximity to the Linwood waterfall.

The Memory Wall contains 1,113 niches, each of which can hold two sets of remains.

Somewhat similar in design to safe deposit boxes, each niche has a one-foot-square granite plate affixed to its front and inscribed with the name or names of the deceased, cemetery trustees said.

A cement walkway and steel railing runs along the front of the Memory Wall. Future plans include the installation of benches.

Trustees of the historic pre-Civil War cemetery said the growing popularity of cremation led them to want to provide a place where urns can be safely kept. They said it's place where loved ones can visit and where future generations can pause to remember family members who came before them.

Stone said the wall continues Linwood’s tradition of investments in the property and also reflects Linwood’s ongoing response to the needs of current lot and niche owners, as well as those who plan to be part of the cemetery in the future.

Stone said cremation niches are becoming popular and are less expensive than traditional burial.

"It's an all-in-one solution as opposed to burial, where you have to purchase a plot and obtain a burial marker," he said. "When you buy a niche, the engraving and installation is included.

"If you were to put two remains in one niche, you basically cut the cost in half of burial in the ground," he said.

Stone said the niches are selling and the popularity of the Memory Wall is growing now that the wall is complete and people become aware of it.

"We designed it to look like it belonged in that area,'' Stone said. "There are six older tombs there, so it looks like it blends right in.''

David Splaine, president of the board of trustees of the Proprietors of Linwood Cemetery, said the Memory Wall is the first structure of its kind in the Greater Haverhill area.

The Linwood Cemetery dates back to 1830 and became a private, nonprofit, nondenominational institution in 1845, more than a decade before the start of the Civil War in 1861.

IG Group has completed the $1 billion acquisition of online brokerage and investor education platform tastytrade, which significantly increases the scale and relevance of IG’s existing US business.

tastytrade’s brokerage and trading education platform is used by over 105,000 self-directed investors with active accounts. IG will provide tastytrade with a platform for international expansion.

The transaction is made up of $300 million in cash and the issuance of 61,000,000 new ordinary shares in IG Group to tastytrade shareholders.

The US options and futures market is larger than the global CFD/FX and European Turbo markets combined, boasting an estimated 1.5 million retail traders.

The combined business is well-positioned to take advantage of the exceptional structural growth of self-directed investing in the US.

The management teams for IG and tastytrade will remain in place, but key tastytrade shareholders – comprising Tom Sosnoff (Co-CEO, tastytrade), Kristi Ross (Co-CEO and President, tastytrade), Scott Sheridan (CEO, tastyworks) and Linwood Ma (CTO, tastytrade) – have joined the IG senior leadership team while continuing in their current roles. These executives will collectively own approximately 5.7% of the enlarged share capital of IG.

June Felix, Chief Executive of IG, commented: “This transaction marks an important milestone in the delivery of IG’s growth strategy, diversifying our product offering and significantly strengthening our global footprint.

tastytrade’s approach to retail markets, combining content that is unique and entertaining with deeply quantitative and technical analysis – is now a proven winning formula that will be expanded across the globe using IG Group’s reach.

Tom Sosnoff, Founder and co-CEO of tastytrade, said: “The completion of this deal is a milestone moment for tastytrade. For the past decade, we have worked tirelessly to build a trading ecosystem that challenges self-directed retail investors to think and trade strategically. Our partnership with IG gives us the opportunity to contribute this expertise as part of a global offering that reflects the scope of our ambitions.”

Kristi Ross, co-Founder and co-CEO of tastytrade, said: “The synergies between tastytrade and IG are clear. Together, our mission is to deliver a sophisticated, first-in-class trading experience that puts our clients at the heart of all we do. This distinctive, differentiated offering will allow IG and tastytrade to capitalise on the long-term, structural democratisation of global financial markets.”

Established in 1974 as one of the world’s first providers of financial derivatives to retail traders, IG offers access to over 17,000 financial markets.

tastytrade was founded and is led by the entrepreneurial management team who previously created the highly successful options trading platform, thinkorswim, acquired by TD Ameritrade in 2009.

tastytrade is the parent company to brokerages tastyworks and dough, as well as the Quiet Foundation, a data science-driven, investment advisory service launched in 2018. tastytrade is incubating The Small Exchange, a futures exchange platform focused on retail traders launched in 2020, and is a Zero Hash investor.
