Eddy Forrest, broker-in-charge for the company's new Winston-Salem office, said Reedy saw opportunity in the Triad because of its existing portfolio and economic development opportunities coming to the region.
Reedy Property Group, a full service real estate brokerage firm based in Greenville, South Carolina, is opening a new office in Winston-Salem with plans to grow its Triad operations.
Eddy Forrest, broker-in-charge of the new Reedy Property's Winston-Salem office, said the firm already had assets in Winston-Salem and around the Triad and saw an opportunity to grow in the area with an office. Reedy moved into its roughly 2,500-square-foot space in the building located at 105 W 4th St. downtown in January, Forrest said.
While Forrest is the only broker in the Winston-Salem office so far, he said Reedy's goal is to have between 5 and 10 brokers in the office in its first year, with one to two property managers. Reedy Property Group has between 12 and 15 commercial assets in the area between its investor portfolio and its brokers who are investors, Forrest said, which will drive the need to hire employees to manage those properties.
"We are actively investing in the area and helping people invest in the area — so as those assets grow, we're going to need more property managers to make sure that our tenants are well taken care of," Forrest said.
Reedy Property Group's services include property management, commercial brokerage services, residential brokerage services and land brokerage services, Forrest said. He said the company also provides investment sales and guidance services to clients.
In addition to the company's headquarters in Greenville, Reedy has an office Spartanburg, South Carolina. However, Forrest said the company has licensed brokers in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia and provides all its services throughout the three states.
While the new office is in Winston-Salem, Forrest said the company is focused on the Triad as a whole. He said Reedy's principals were drawn to economic development coming to the region as well as the relatively low cost of living and low cost of entry for those looking to invest in real estate or start their own businesses.
While Reedy plans to focus on growing its new office, Forrest said the company has aspirations to be a "major force" in the Southeast. He said the company's existing clients and portfolio of assets typically drives new offices.
"I would assume that our growth is not going to slow and that we're going to continue to open up new offices," he said. "Being able to provide our unique perspective on real estate and provide our creative solutions to driving value in the areas that we serve.
In December, Reedy purchased the 23,756-square-foot building located at 4310 Enterprise Dr. in Winston-Salem for $16.5 million. In February, it sold over 150 single-family residential properties in Winston-Salem to SRP Property Management Company for $12.47 million.
