Farpoint Development, a Chicago-based real estate development firm, and BMarko Structures, a modular building manufacturer headquartered in Atlanta, have announced a 10-year lease for a modular data center manufacturing facility in Williamston.
BMarko Structures will establish its Southeast manufacturing operations at 134 Long Road, focusing on the production of modular buildings for data centers and other commercial/industrial applications, according to a news release.
Operations at the Williamston facility will create 225 full-time jobs.
Antony Kountouris, chief executive officer of BMarko Structures, explained the reason why the company wanted to establish its Southeast operations in Williamston and partner with Farpoint.
“The team's professionalism and understanding of our requirements, combined with Williamston's location on the I-85 corridor and skilled workforce, make this the right choice for our growth,” Kountouris said in the news release.
“BMarko Structures' commitment to 134 Long Road confirms the continued demand for manufacturing space along the I-85 corridor,” said Justin Patwin, principal at Farpoint Development.
"This lease reflects increasing demand for industrial space throughout the Upstate," Patwin said. "We're pleased to support BMarko's expansion and contribute to Williamstown's economic growth.”
