They say that your golden years are the best years of your life. For most older Americans, that's how it should be - a time to relax, reflect, and live life in a familiar place. After all, senior citizens in the U.S. have worked tirelessly to build a better economy, serve their communities, and raise families.

However, as seniors grow older, completing daily tasks like showering and enjoying activities such as visiting the historic California Registered Historical Landmark, No.992 gets harder without someone by their side. Unfortunately, many older Americans aren't able to rely on their adult children for help. The reality in today's world is that family members do not have the skills or time to dedicate to caring for their parents. That's where Always Best Care Senior Services comes in.

Our in-home care services are for people who prefer to stay at home as they grow older but need ongoing care that family or friends cannot provide. More and more older adults prefer to live far away from long-term, institutionalized facilities and closer to the place where they feel most comfortable - their home. Home care in Desert Center, CA is a safe, effective way to give your loved ones the care they need when they need it the most.

“I just wanted to give Always Best Care a very well deserved 5 star review!! As children of seniors know, it can be a hard decision to entrust others outside of the family to provide love and care for your aging parent. However, Always Best Care of Indian Wells has been incredible in so many ways in helping facilitate home care service for my 100 year old mom. Sandra, their Care Coordinator, is an excellent communicator – patient and kind, resourceful and so very competent. Yvonne, mom’s caregiver, is loving and from our first meeting, she did those “little things” without being instructed that were important and mean so much. (Like checking dates on groceries, asking about parking so as to be considerate of the neighbors, having a routine for where to put things like mom’s keys, etc., and just focusing her attention on little things that were all about mom, etc. etc.) Moses, who installed mom’s AI devices was great as well – all smiles, so friendly and sweet to mom. And Juan, who does scheduling is the best as well….always one step ahead in communicating schedules and everything else. I am very impressed with how well they all work as a team. The most important part, though, is that mom is happy! Thank you ABC!”

“Above and Beyond I was driving in a panic from Washington to California because my mother was in crisis, she has dementia and her partner/care giver was taken to the hospital and not expected to recover. From the moment of contact while driving through mountains with terrible cell service Sandra and Moses took the situation in hand and offered solutions and managed to obtain a nurse for that very night with such short notice of only 3 hours and we needed care for 12 hour shifts. They were so compassionate and supportive and made us feel safe. Mom is 88 years old and can be quite difficult in the best of times, she really liked the nurses and wanted them to come back. Anyone needing Nursing services should call Always Best Care they are top notch. Thank you again for the amazing service!”

What is Non-Medical Senior Care in Desert Center, CA?

lm-check

Home is where the heart is. While that saying can sound a tad cliche, it is especially true for many seniors living in America. When given a choice, older adults most often prefer to grow older at home. An AARP study found that three out of four adults over the age of 50 want to stay in their homes and communities as they age.

lm-check

When you begin to think about why, it makes sense. Home offers a sense of security, comfort, and familiarity.

lm-check

The truth is, as we age, we begin to rely on others for help. When a family is too busy or lives too far away to fulfill this role, in-home senior care is often the best solution. Home care services allow seniors to enjoy personal independence while also receiving trustworthy assistance from a trained caregiver.

lm-check

At Always Best Care, we offer a comprehensive range of home care services to help seniors stay healthy while they get the help they need to remain independent. As your senior loved one gets older, giving them the gift of senior care is one of the best ways to show your love, even if you live far away.

Respite Care

Respite Care Services

According to AARP, more than 53 million adults living in the U.S. provide care to someone over 50 years old. Unfortunately, these caregivers experience stress, exhaustion, and even depression. Our respite care services help family caregivers address urgent obligations, spend time with their children, and enjoy nearby activities. Perhaps more importantly, respite care gives family members time to recharge and regroup. Taking personal time to de-stress reduces the risk of caregiver burnout. So, if you've always wanted to eat at the local Cork Tree restaurant or visit Desert Steve's Cabin Ruins, don't feel bad. Doing so is great for both you and your loved one.

At the end of the day, our goal is to become a valuable part of your senior's daily routine. That way, we may help give them the highest quality of life possible. We know that staying at home is important for your loved one, and we are here to help make sure that is possible.

If you have been on the fence about non-medical home care, there has never been a better time than now to give your senior the care, assistance, and companionship they deserve.

Aging in Place: The Preferred Choice for Most Seniors

While it's true that some seniors have complicated medical needs that prevent them from staying at home, aging in place is often the best arrangement for seniors and their families. With a trusted caregiver, seniors have the opportunity to live with a sense of dignity and do so as they see fit - something that is unavailable to many older people today.

In-home care makes it possible for millions of seniors to age in place every year. Rather than moving to a strange nursing home, seniors have the chance to stay at home where they feel the happiest and most comfortable.

Here are just a few of the reasons why older men and women prefer to age at home:

How much does a senior's home truly mean to them?

A study published by the American Society on Aging found that more than half of seniors say their home's emotional value means more than how much their home is worth in monetary value. It stands to reason, then, that a senior's home is where they want to grow old.

With the help of elderly care in Desert Center, CA, seniors don't have to age in a sterilized care facility. Instead, they can age gracefully in the place they want to be most: their home. In contrast, seniors who move to a long-term care facility must adapt to new environments, new people, and new systems that the facility implements. At this stage in life, this kind of drastic change can be more harmful than helpful.

Institutional care facilities like nursing homes often put large groups of people together to live in one location. On any given day, dozens of staff members and caregivers run in and out of these facilities. Being around so many new people in a relatively small living environment can be dangerous for a seniors' health and wellbeing. When you consider that thousands of seniors passed away in nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, opting for in-home care is often a safer, healthier choice for seniors.

Aging in place has been shown to improve seniors' quality of life, which helps boost physical health and also helps insulate them from viral and bacterial risks found in elderly living facilities.

For many seniors, the ability to live independently with assistance from a caregiver is a priceless option. With in-home care, seniors experience a higher level of independence and freedom - much more so than in other settings like a nursing home. When a senior has the chance to age in place, they get to live life on their own terms, inside the house that they helped make into a home. More independence means more control over their personal lives, too, which leads to increased levels of fulfillment, happiness, and personal gratification. Over time, these positive feelings can manifest into a healthier, longer life.

More independence, a healthier life, and increased comfort are only a few benefits of aging in place. You have to take into consideration the role of cost and convenience. Simply put, it's usually easier and more affordable to help seniors age in place than it is to move them into an institutional care facility. According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, seniors who age in the comfort of their homes can save thousands of dollars per month.

In-home care services from Always Best Care, for instance, are often less expensive than long-term solutions, which can cost upwards of six figures per year. To make matters worse, many residential care facilities are reluctant to accept long-term care insurance and other types of payment assistance.

With Always Best Care's home care services, seniors and their families have a greater level of control over their care plans. In-home care gives seniors the chance to form a bond with a trusted caregiver and also receive unmatched care that is catered to their needs. In long-term care facilities, seniors and their loved ones have much less control over their care plan and have less of a say in who provides their care.

Affordable Care

In-home care is a valuable resource that empowers seniors to age in place on their own terms. However, a big concern for many families and their loved ones is how much in-home care costs. If you're worried that in-home care is too expensive, you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that it is one of the most affordable senior care arrangements available.

Typically, hiring an Always Best Care in-home caregiver for a few hours a week is more affordable than sending your loved one to a long-term care facility. This is true even for seniors with more complex care needs.

At Always Best Care, we will work closely with you and your family to develop a Care Plan that not only meets your care needs, but your budget requirements, too. Once we discover the level of care that you or your senior need, we develop an in-home care plan that you can afford.

In addition to our flexible care options, families should also consider the following resources to help offset potential home care costs:

If your loved one qualifies, Medicaid may help reduce in-home care costs. Review your CA's Medicaid program laws and benefits, and make sure your senior's financial and medical needs meet Medicaid eligibility requirements.
Attendance and aid benefits through military service can cover a portion of the costs associated with in-home care for veterans and their spouses.
Many senior care services like in-home care are included in long-term care insurance options. Research different long-term care solutions to find a plan that provides coverage for senior care.
Home care can be included as part of a senior's private insurance plan. Read over your loved one's insurance policy carefully or speak with their insurance provider to determine if in-home care is covered.
Depending on the life insurance plan, you may be able to apply your policy toward long-term care. You may be able to use long-term-care coverage to help pay for in-home elderly care.
 Senior Care Desert Center, CA

Compassionate Care. Trusted Caregivers.

When you or your senior loved one needs assistance managing daily tasks at home, finding a qualified caregiver can be challenging. It takes a special kind of person to provide reliable care for your senior loved one. However, a caregiver's role involves more than meal preparation and medication reminders. Many seniors rely on their caregivers for companionship, too.

Our companion care services give seniors the chance to socialize in a safe environment and engage in activities at home. These important efforts boost morale and provide much-needed relief from repetitive daily routines. A one-on-one, engaging conversation can sharpen seniors' minds and give them something in which to be excited.

At Always Best Care, we only hire care providers that we would trust to care for our own loved ones. Our senior caregivers in Desert Center, CA understand how important it is to listen and communicate with their seniors. A seemingly small interaction, like a short hug goodbye, can make a major difference in a senior's day. Instead of battling against feelings of isolation, seniors begin to look forward to seeing their caregiver each week.

Understanding the nuances of senior care is just one of the reasons why our care providers are so great at their job.

Unlike some senior care companies, our caregivers must undergo extensive training before they work for Always Best Care. In addition, our caregivers receive ongoing training throughout the year. This training ensures that their standard of care matches up to the high standards we've come to expect. During this training, they will brush up on their communication skills, safety awareness, and symptom spotting. That way, your loved one receives the highest level of non-medical home care from day one.

Assisted Living Referral Services

While it's true that many seniors prefer to age at home, sometimes in-home care isn't the best fit. For those seniors and their families, choosing an assisted living facility makes more sense. Unfortunately, finding the optimal care facility is easier said than done in today's day and age. That's when Always Best Care's assisted living referral services begin to make a lot of sense.

Assisted living is a form of housing intended for seniors who require varying degrees of medical and personal attention. Accommodations may include single rooms, apartments, or shared living arrangements. Assisted living communities are typically designed to resemble a home-like environment and are physically constructed to encourage the independence of residents.

Respite Care Desert Center, CA

At assisted living communities, seniors receive help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating. They may also benefit from coordination of services with outside healthcare providers, and monitoring of resident activities to ensure their health, safety, and well-being. Caregivers who work at assisted living communities can also provide medication administration and personal care services for older adults.

Other services offered within assisted living communities can include some or all of the following:

  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry
  • Recreational Activities
  • Social Outings
  • Emergency Medical Response
  • Medication Monitoring
  • Family Visitation
  • Personal Care
 Caregivers Desert Center, CA

At Always Best Care, our representatives can match your senior's emotional, physical, and financial needs with viable assisted living communities nearby. Results are based on comparative data, so you can select the best choice for you or your loved one.

Always Best Care works closely with local senior living communities to gain valuable knowledge that we then use to help seniors and their loved ones make informed decisions. This information can include basic care and rent, resident availability, and services provided. Because Always Best Care is compensated by these communities, we provide senior living referral services at no extra cost to you.

Some of the most popular assisted living communities to consider in our area include the following:

  • Doctors Choice Senior Services
Home Care Desert Center, CA

For many seniors, moving into a senior living community revolves around how and when they want to make a transition to more involved care. Some seniors are more proactive about transitioning to independent living. Others choose to remain home until their care needs or other requirements are satisfied. Remember - our staff is here to help. Contact our office today to learn more about assisted living communities and how we can find a facility that exceeds your expectations.

Guest columnist

For most people, the tiny town of Desert Center, situated on the I-10 corridor in a remote expanse of eastern Riverside County’s Chuckwalla Valley, is just a lifeless blip on the map, a place close to the southeastern boundaries of Joshua Tree National Park.

It’s the perfect place, some might think, for the 2,600-acre Oberon Solar Project, which was approved this month by the Bureau of Land Management.

But they couldn’t be more wrong. And here’s why.

This no wasteland. This area of California desert wilderness is a rich and abundant land of storied landscapes and life, a land of critical environmental and cultural significance that we cannot afford to sacrifice.

Here, in this critical transitional wilderness corridor linking the Western Colorado-Sonoran and Mojave Deserts, old-growth desert ironwood forests up to 1,200 years old grow in abundance.

Endangered California desert tortoises flourish here. Sacred sites of the desert’s Native people abound here and include multiple trails that link vital water sources, village sites, petroglyph panels, and lithic scatter around ancient lakebeds.

Now, much of this stands to be forever erased.

For our federal government to give license to corporations who stand to gain money by exploiting and destroying our public wilderness in this way is a disgrace and is the antithesis of environmental sustainability. Siting large-scale renewable energy projects in California’s desert wilderness areas is not only unnecessary — rooftop solar is a viable alternative — but deeply unethical.

The approval for the Oberon Solar Project is especially upsetting to environmentalists advocating for desert protections against huge renewable energy projects here and in other California and Nevada desert wildlands.

Because approval has been made directly by U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, the standard 45-day public comment process following such approvals has been eliminated.

This, at a time when the California Public Utilities Commission is considering a plan that would make it too costly for many Californians to embrace solar power, which in turn increases our state’s reliance on corporate power sources such as PG&E, which has a recent and horrific record of negligence in inflicting extreme wildfire damage and loss of life.

And this, during the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic, when ugly projects such as Oberon can easily jump on the bandwagon of pandemic profiteering to gain approval while a public is kept outside of the approval and comment process.

I can imagine the red-tail hawks and large birds of prey circling above Oberon as it’s built, stunned by the loss of their microphyll desert woodlands: Ironwood, Palo Verde and Mesquite.

Some, diving for what they think is water but is actually a super-heated solar panel lake, will be instantly incinerated. I feel the agony of the desert tortoises being ripped from ancestral burrows and safe desert trails in the only world they’ve ever known. And I cry, knowing that my little grandchildren very well may come of age to a desert that is more of a junkyard than the sacred landscape I’ve been so privileged to know.

We can do better than this. We must do better than this. Our survival depends on this simple tenet: You don’t save the planet by destroying the planet, especially our remaining wildlands.

Traffic was moving on eastbound Interstate 10 east of Desert Center in a single lane that was reopened Thursday morning after the road was closed for several hours by flooding from a storm and an overturned truck.

The lane opened about 7:30 a.m. and California Highway Patrol Lt. Chris Hamilton reported that it was again the fastest route between the Coachella Valley and Blythe. Sigalert.com reported speeds of between 45 and 55 mph on both eastbound and westbound I-10 east of Desert Center as of 11:30 p.m.

The flooding occurred east of Corn Springs Road at approximately 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, California Highway Patrol Officer Jordan Girard said. It originally closed the road in both directions. The problem was initially worsened because State Route 177 was blocked by downed power lines. State Route 177 also reopened Thursday morning.

California Highway Patrol Officer Kevin Mallett said that a portion of a freeway bypass being used to take drivers around an area where new roadway is being built was washed out. However, he said that eastbound traffic has been moved onto a portion of the redone roadway, although with only one lane.

For much of the closure, drivers had been encouraged to take other routes and at one point were being rerouted through Brawley via State Route 86 or told to take Interstate 40 to the north.

Mallett said he did not know how long it would take to get I-10 operating normally again.

"I know last time this happened it was quite awhile," he said.

There are three sections of roadway within a 5-mile stretch that are washed out, he said.

The westbound lanes on I-10 were previously closed but reopened Wednesday night, although delays are still being seen.

Thunderstorms passed through the desert region on Wednesday resulting in floods. A flash flood could also be seen on Amboy Road, near Twentynine Palms.

Across the Coachella Valley, there is a 30% to 40% chance of precipitation depending on the city Thursday

The Coachella Valley had a 30% to 40% chance of thunderstorms on Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Dan Gregoria, a National Weather Service meteorologist, advised people to turn around if they encounter water over a road and find shelter if they hear thunder.

“The desert region's really susceptible to flash flooding if heavy rain does fall and lightning strikes from thunderstorms, even a distance from the thunderstorm,” he said. “It might not be even raining over your location, but you could be at risk of flash flooding and lightning strikes if a thunderstorm's nearby.”

Heavy rains in the California desert collapsed a bridge on Interstate 10 eight years ago, snarling traffic for about five days on the key route linking Southern California and Arizona.

Last year, storms washed out a stretch of I-10 at nearly the same place east of the Palm Springs area, frustrating motorists and truckers for four days.

Given the problems with flooding, and to ensure traffic flows smoothly, California’s Department of Transportation, or Caltrans, has been busy repaving and upgrading parts of Interstate 10, which runs 2,400 miles from the California coast at Santa Monica to Florida’s Atlantic coast at Jacksonville.

California officials are warning of rain, wind, potential flash flooding and possible power outages starting Sunday from Hurricane Hilary moving east off the Pacific Ocean.

One current I-10 construction project extends about 13 miles through hilly desert terrain from east of Indio to the Cactus City rest area. The improvements include repaving, an eastbound lane for trucks that struggle on an uphill climb, new guardrails and drainage upgrades.

"Due to heavy traffic volumes on this major east-west connector route, the existing roadway pavement periodically needs repair to restore its structural integrity and ride quality to transport goods and people through Southern California," Caltrans said in a statement.

The project also includes installation of solar-powered charging stations for electric vehicles at the Cactus City rest stop.

Work has begun and is expected to extend into 2026.

Caltrans also has been working on a pavement-rehabilitation project on I-10 farther east, from Desert Center to near the Wiley’s Well rest area west of the Colorado River town of Blythe.

From Aug. 21 to 25, basically, during daylight hours, Caltrans said segments of a westbound temporary detour lane will be shifting back to the main lane.

Crews will be performing both concrete and asphalt paving and might close lanes and ramps. As part of that project, crews have removed a substantial amount of vegetation between the two eastbound lanes and the two westbound lanes.

In terms of possible heavy storms moving through the area, Emily Leinen, a Caltrans spokeswoman, indicated the agency will be ready.

“Crews have been very active in the construction zone and will be available to respond to all types of situations, should anything occur,” she said in an email.

DESERT CENTER, CA — The main highway from Los Angeles to Phoenix was damaged by a flash flood that washed out part of the road through the Southern California desert in the latest bout of punishing monsoonal thunderstorms that have hit the region this month.

The latest round of flooding started Wednesday evening, damaging the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near the small community of Desert Center, about 165 miles (265 kilometers) east of Los Angeles.

Traffic in both directions was halted initially, but westbound lanes for motorists heading from Arizona to California reopened later.

All eastbound traffic was diverted until the California Department of Transportation managed to reopen one lane Thursday morning.

Officials recommended that people heading from Southern California use Interstates 8 or 40, which are major detours.

Photos posted by Caltrans showed water rushing through a deep gouge in the pavement of the highway. Flooding also affected other roads in the region, including State Routes 177, 78 and 62.

A flash flood in the same area in July 2015 washed out a bridge on the eastbound side of I-10 and eroded the ground under the westbound bridge.

The interstate was closed for nearly a week for repair of the westbound bridge, which then carried traffic on single lanes in each direction. The eastbound side did not reopen until September.

The National Weather Service said more flooding was possible through Thursday throughout a large swath of Southern California's mountains and deserts.

Flash floods earlier this summer badly damaged roads in Death Valley National Park, the Mojave National Preserve and on the the southern side of Joshua Tree National Park.

Officials called the Aug. 5 deluge in Death Valley historic. Hundreds of visitors were initially stranded by flood waters and debris-covered roads. It took about two weeks for the park to reopen its most popular areas.

THE MAN WHO BOARDED A FLYING SAUCER (ALLEGEDLY)

When last we spoke of George Adamski, he claimed to have met a man from Venus in the Colorado Desert (Part of the Sonoran Desert) near Desert Center, California. This claim was arguably the starting point for the era of the “contactees,’ the moniker he created for himself and others who professed to have direct interaction with aliens. Though Orthon, the pseudonym Adamski applied to his Venusian, refused to be photographed, he did allow Adamski to keep a photograph he had taken of the landing site, in which the craft is supposedly visible.

Note that Adamski’s evidentiary photos are almost uniformly under or over-exposed, (as with the above example) making details very difficult to discern, especially given the grainy black-and-white nature of the image. Even under intense scrutiny, and using modern photographic enhancement tools, there doesn’t appear to be anything in the image which could reasonably be assumed to be an alien craft, let alone Earth-shattering evidence of extraterrestrial visitors. Despite this, devout UFO believers (as well as many of Adamski’s neo-theosophical followers) found it both compelling and convincing.

Despite refusing to pose for a commemorative photo, Orthon (who, I will remind you, was described as being a perfectly ordinary looking man with a deep tan and longish blond hair, despite being from another planet) did request an unexposed photographic plate. A month or so later, he returned the plate, and when Adamski developed it, it revealed the plans for a perpetual motion machine which could provide unlimited energy to the entire planet from a device the size of a small suitcase. Just kidding, of course. What it actually revealed were doodles and scribblings, which look as if a toddler got a hold of a crayon.

It was around this time that Adamski began corresponding with Desmond Leslie, an aspiring Irish author and filmmaker. At the time, Leslie was writing a history of aliens visiting Earth, which ultimately became a joint venture, The Flying Saucers Have Landed. The first half of the book was Leslie’s aforementioned “history,” heavily influenced by William Scott-Elliot’s The Story of Atlantis and the Lost Lemuria. The second half consisted of a detailed retelling of Adamski’s tale (up to that point). Leslie was a fellow neo-theosophist, and Landed would ultimately become a relatively significant text in the New Age movement (or neo-neo-theosophical movement).

More small, grainy, black and white pictures with nothing to give context or scale to the images.

In his follow-up book Inside the Space Ships (later retitled Inside the Flying Saucers), Adamski dove right in with little preamble. Having been drawn to Los Angeles by an overwhelming urge, Adamski was greeted by name by what appeared to be two perfectly normal well-dressed businessmen. As you may have deduced by my clever use of the word “appeared,” they were not, in fact, businessmen, but were actually aliens. However, neither of them were Orthon the Venusian… in fact, as is soon revealed, neither of them were Venusian at all!

“Lights and dwellings thinned as we left the outskirts of the city. The taller man spoke for the first time as he said, “You have been very patient. We know how much you are wondering who we are and where we are taking you.

“I acknowledged that of course I had been wondering, but added that I was entirely content to wait for this information until they chose to give it to me.

“The speaker smiled and indicated the driver. “He is from the planet you call Mars. I am from the one you call Saturn.””

As a reminder, Saturn is a gas giant, with a small rocky core covered in frozen hydrogen, all nestled in an atmosphere thousands of miles thick and dense enough to crush any human long before they ever got near the center. In the unlikely event there is life on Saturn (or in Saturn’s atmosphere) it is most definitely not human, nor would it resemble any kind of life we have ever observed (though some of the creatures found in the darkest depths of the oceans might provide some hints at what the characteristics of a “Saturnian” might be).

Slide from Saturn and Planetary Rings by Nikolas Thompson 04/05/2007

The pair drove Adamski into the desert, where he was reunited with Orthon the Venusian, who was just finishing forging a replacement for a part which had broken during landing. To Adamski’s surprise, Orthon now spoke perfect English, with only a hint of an accent. This would prove both useful in terms of communication, and convenient in terms of Adamski providing a narrative. Before the trio of new arrivals board Orthon’s ship, Adamski reveals that the aliens don’t have names the same way Earthmen do.

“While I want to make it very clear that the names I am introducing for these new friends are not their correct names, I wish to add that I have my own good reasons for choosing them, and that they are not without meaning in relation to those who will bear them throughout these pages.

“The Martian I shall call Firkon. The Saturnian is Ramu. My name for the Venusian will be Orthon.”

This photo is likely the most famous “UFO” photo Adamski took. It is actually the heating element from an egg brooder, complete with incandescent lightbulbs.

The trio then ushered Adamski aboard the newly repaired ship, and invited him to sit on a bench along the wall. A rubberized metal safety bar lowered onto his lap (much like one would find on a roller coaster or other carnival ride), and Orthon activated an instrument panel located across from the now seamlessly closed entry. Before long, Adamski realized he was seeing, through a large porthole in the floor, the roofs of houses gliding beneath the ship. They had taken off and were soon approaching a Venusian mother ship.

“Fascinated, I peered out through the portholes. There, below, I was able to make out a gigantic black shadow motionless beneath us. As we came nearer, its huge bulk seemed to stretch away almost out of sight, and I could see its vast sides curving outward and downward. Slowly, very slowly, we drew nearer until we were nearly on top of the great carrier. I was not astonished when my companion told me that she was about one hundred and fifty feet in diameter and close to two thousand feet in length.

“The spectacle of that gigantic cigar-shaped carrier ship hanging there motionless in the stratosphere will never dim in my memory.”

A giant Venusian carrier ship. Or a kazoo. Or a toy flute. Or a plumbing component. Or…

The craft entered an opening on the top of the large ship, where Adamski’s companions promised the secrets of the universe would be revealed. Thus began Adamski’s first (but not last) journey into space. In the final part of the tale, we’ll tour the solar system, learn that electromagnetism is magic, and solve the mystery of why Adamski chose those names for his tour guides.
