9/11 Remembrance Walk planned in Ridley Creek State Park
In commemoration of 9/11, a National Day of Service and Remembrance, a Soul Trek event is planned at Ridley Creek State Park from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9.
Walkers will meet at the park entrance, just off West Chester Pike in the Newtown Square/Edgmont area.
Walkers will take 2,977 steps into the trail to honor the 2,977 victims lost on 9/11, and then pause for a moment of silence.
The trek will be 2 miles on a flat trail that will take less than an hour. The communal health boosting event was inspired by presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr’s passionate pledge to end the chronic disease epidemic, clean the toxic environment and reunite America through compassion.

Walkers are encouraged to bring a card of their favorite life affirming quote to share with fellow soul trekkers.
