NEWTOWN — Get ready for a night of fun, food, and community at Newtown Square’s Circle at Sundown, 5 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, May 21.
The township’s second annual community street party will be held in the heart of Newtown Square in the streets of St. Alban’s Circle and Chapel Road.
“This event is all about bringing people together, promoting local businesses, building stronger community connections, and celebrating the hard work of those who make our town more livable,” said Paul Seligson, chairman of the Newtown Square Business Association.
Gather in the Circle, Newtown Township, and the Newtown Square Business Association are teaming up to bring the community the biggest street party, yet.
Don’t miss out on mouth-watering food from popular local restaurants including Tiffin Indian Cuisine and Fresco Pizza Grill, or on the sweet treats from Newtown Square Farmers Market vendors Heavenly Sweet Chocolates and Dough Sweet.
Troubles End Brewing, Collegeville, will once again be serving up ice-cold beer in a beer garden, and food trucks such as Twisted Elegance and Tone’s Spot will offer more culinary delights.
The party includes a number of activities for families and kids, including face painting, outdoor games, and chalk art led by a local artist.
Dancers from the Top and Twirl dance studios will pump up the energy with live performances, while local musicians will add to the good vibes. People can take part in a community yoga session from Yoga in the Circle, test their woodworking skills with Board and Brush, create seed bombs with Willistown Conservation Trust, and say hello to Garrett Williamson’s sheep.
Local boutiques such as Bunny Hare’s and Grace and Kate Boutique will hold sidewalk sales.
“We’re committed to creating a more sustainable community by activating a mixed-use and charming central area of town that is walkable to nearby neighborhoods,” said Linda McIsaac, founder of Gather in the Circle, a community-led nonprofit focused on fostering a more vibrant Newtown Square.
The event will minimize its environmental impact by using recycled and borrowed materials for the design, and by encouraging the use of eco-friendly products and recycling. Various civic groups such as the local library, historical society, firehouse, and area green organizations will be on hand to showcase their work.
The Circle at Sundown event is free. For more information or to get involved, follow Gather in the Circle @gatherinthecircle and #circleatsundown on Facebook and Instagram.
