The Town of Loomis is hosting a fine array of holiday events that features some of the very best of the season’s cheer, all in this friendly, rural community filled with good restaurants, great breweries, and of course, plenty of arts and crafts. Loomis is just a short drive from Roseville, Sacramento, and Auburn, but its small-town feel is a world away from crowded malls.
Good Ol’ Fashioned Parade
The Day Before Thanksgiving Parade is a community highlight for all generations to enjoy. Come see how the locals do it and enjoy a page from the Sierra Foothills tradition book. Held on Wednesday, November 22 at 9 am on Taylor Road, ending at the Train Depot with the Day Before Thanksgiving Vendor Fair from 10 am to Noon.
Are you ready to take a break and entertain your out-of-town visitors? Home for the Holidays and want to hit all your favorite spots? Then head on out for the Small Town Pub Crawl! Enjoy a great sampling of fresh, craft beer from local breweries at the Thanksgiving Eve Small Town Pub Crawl. The pub crawl starts at Sully’s Bar and Grill with stops at Gander Taphouse, Loomis Basin Brewery, Liberal Bull, and the Valencia Club. Be among the first to try Loomis Basin Brewery’s newest beer, “The Haka Hazy IPA.” On the night of the Pub Crawl Haka cans will be 20% off. See details for limited-supply free wristbands below.
Join the Community for Some Ready-Made Celebrations
See Loomis turn the holiday lights on and meet Santa at the 49th Annual Loomis Family Christmas Tree Lighting, on Saturday, December 2, from 5-7 pm at the Loomis Train Depot. Gather around the historic Loomis Train Depot where you will find a glorious tree and plenty of holiday cheer. Be sure to be there in time for the 6 pm tree lighting and the arrival of Santa via firetruck. Loomis Lions will be collecting unwrapped toys at this free, family-friendly event.
There are many craft fairs, art exhibits, and opportunities to mingle with both artists and small business owners throughout the holiday season. While it's great to give gifts, it's especially rewarding to give gifts that support local communities and artists. Get to know the artists and artisans for your one-of-a-kind gift that comes with a memorable shopping experience. Supporting small businesses and artists makes a big difference in local economies and for many organizations, the holidays represent a large part of their annual fund-raising budget. Shopping locally gives something special to you, the shopper, the community, and the gift recipient.
The Town of Loomis is dedicated to maintaining its rural identity. Come enjoy Loomis and watch for all our Hometown Holiday events at Visit Loomis Facebook page and Instagram for details.
