Home Care Wilton, CT

They say that your golden years are the best years of your life. For most older Americans, that's how it should be - a time to relax, reflect, and live life in a familiar place. After all, senior citizens in the U.S. have worked tirelessly to build a better economy, serve their communities, and raise families.

However, as seniors grow older, completing daily tasks like showering and enjoying activities such as visiting the historic The Caretaker's House gets harder without someone by their side. Unfortunately, many older Americans aren't able to rely on their adult children for help. The reality in today's world is that family members do not have the skills or time to dedicate to caring for their parents. That's where Always Best Care Senior Services comes in.

Our in-home care services are for people who prefer to stay at home as they grow older but need ongoing care that family or friends cannot provide. More and more older adults prefer to live far away from long-term, institutionalized facilities and closer to the place where they feel most comfortable - their home. “Thank you so much for everything. Mom is not ready to take the step to accepting in-home help yet, but I can assure you that when she is, you will be our agency of choice. Knowing that you will be able to assist us when the time comes makes me feel so much better about all of this. For me, it makes a big difference to actually know someone who is in charge and I think that will make a difference with my Mom too.”

“I am writing on behalf of my family to tell you how appreciative we are of Always Best Care and your services. These have not been the best of times for my family and especially hard on my Mom but we take great comfort knowing you are there to help. Our caretaker has been wonderful since my Dad was sent to River Glen in Southbury and from the very beginning of our ordeal. My Mom is extremely protective of my Dad and has always requested for Judy to help out with my Dad. To me that is the biggest proof of our confidence that has been my Mom's faith in her. Anything we have asked of her she has delivered and shown what most can't - that she really cares. Your Professional staff is a pleasure to work with - adapting schedules, applying payments quickly, and always courteous. I felt like great service should be made aware of and should set a standard that Always Best Care always seems to meet..”

Your kind manner was reassuring to my mother and to me, and you have made the process of caring for my mother at home easy and provided me with much needed relief so that I can actually return to work with a calm mind.”

“I am sending you some of my thoughts about Always Best Care now that I have had time to reflect. Mom’s move to Assisted Living has gone very well and I’d like you to know:--From the initial home meeting and throughout my mother’s care, everyone was extremely personable, professional and knowledgeable of the home care industry. --ABC matched caregivers to my Mother’s needs and personality and we (and my Mother) were very happy with the care received and with the communication between caregivers and family.--Although my Mother is in Memory Care now, she still remembers ‘her ladies’ that not only assisted in her care, but more importantly, offered friendship. We would be very happy to be used as a reference if needed!”

“I just wanted to shoot you a quick email expressing our thoughts about Mary, who was the caregiver for the weekend. We all thought she was wonderful!! I think her biggest strength is that she “sees the work”, needs little/to no direction, offers to take things out of our hands, is a true-go-getter. For Billie, this type of help is great since she feels like she can take some time to rest and trust all is okay. Mary works hard and is also very patient. I really think Mary is a natural dealing with elderly. She is patient and kind! Anyway, what I wanted to ask is if Mary can be the consistent caregiver for the weekends. The other 4 caregivers that I have met are also very nice. We would like Mary as much as possible as she is punctual, and as I mentioned before, ‘sees what needs doing”. She is focused on what she can do to help. She doesn’t just sit there next to Bill, she has eyes in the back of her head and goes the extra mile. Anything that needs to get done, she says “no wait, let me do it’—if she hasn’t already initiated it herself. She seems to have endless energy and never complained. I just felt compelled to drop you a this note to let you know how impressed we were with her. Thanks”

What is Non-Medical Senior Care in Wilton, CT?

lm-check

Home is where the heart is. While that saying can sound a tad cliche, it is especially true for many seniors living in America. When given a choice, older adults most often prefer to grow older at home. An AARP study found that three out of four adults over the age of 50 want to stay in their homes and communities as they age.

lm-check

When you begin to think about why, it makes sense. Home offers a sense of security, comfort, and familiarity.

lm-check

The truth is, as we age, we begin to rely on others for help. When a family is too busy or lives too far away to fulfill this role, in-home senior care is often the best solution. Home care services allow seniors to enjoy personal independence while also receiving trustworthy assistance from a trained caregiver.

lm-check

At Always Best Care, we offer a comprehensive range of home care services to help seniors stay healthy while they get the help they need to remain independent. As your senior loved one gets older, giving them the gift of senior care is one of the best ways to show your love, even if you live far away.

Respite Care

Respite Care Services

According to AARP, more than 53 million adults living in the U.S. provide care to someone over 50 years old. Unfortunately, these caregivers experience stress, exhaustion, and even depression. Our respite care services help family caregivers address urgent obligations, spend time with their children, and enjoy nearby activities. Perhaps more importantly, respite care gives family members time to recharge and regroup. Taking personal time to de-stress reduces the risk of caregiver burnout. So, if you've always wanted to eat at the local Schoolhouse At Cannondale or visit Wilton Historical Society, don't feel bad. Doing so is great for both you and your loved one.

At the end of the day, our goal is to become a valuable part of your senior's daily routine. That way, we may help give them the highest quality of life possible. We know that staying at home is important for your loved one, and we are here to help make sure that is possible.

If you have been on the fence about non-medical home care, there has never been a better time than now to give your senior the care, assistance, and companionship they deserve.

Aging in Place: The Preferred Choice for Most Seniors

While it's true that some seniors have complicated medical needs that prevent them from staying at home, aging in place is often the best arrangement for seniors and their families. With a trusted caregiver, seniors have the opportunity to live with a sense of dignity and do so as they see fit - something that is unavailable to many older people today.

In-home care makes it possible for millions of seniors to age in place every year. Rather than moving to a strange nursing home, seniors have the chance to stay at home where they feel the happiest and most comfortable.

Here are just a few of the reasons why older men and women prefer to age at home:

How much does a senior's home truly mean to them?

A study published by the American Society on Aging found that more than half of seniors say their home's emotional value means more than how much their home is worth in monetary value. It stands to reason, then, that a senior's home is where they want to grow old.

With the help of elderly care in Wilton, CT, seniors don't have to age in a sterilized care facility. Instead, they can age gracefully in the place they want to be most: their home. In contrast, seniors who move to a long-term care facility must adapt to new environments, new people, and new systems that the facility implements. At this stage in life, this kind of drastic change can be more harmful than helpful.

Institutional care facilities like nursing homes often put large groups of people together to live in one location. On any given day, dozens of staff members and caregivers run in and out of these facilities. Being around so many new people in a relatively small living environment can be dangerous for a seniors' health and wellbeing. When you consider that thousands of seniors passed away in nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, opting for in-home care is often a safer, healthier choice for seniors.

Aging in place has been shown to improve seniors' quality of life, which helps boost physical health and also helps insulate them from viral and bacterial risks found in elderly living facilities.

For many seniors, the ability to live independently with assistance from a caregiver is a priceless option. With in-home care, seniors experience a higher level of independence and freedom - much more so than in other settings like a nursing home. When a senior has the chance to age in place, they get to live life on their own terms, inside the house that they helped make into a home. More independence means more control over their personal lives, too, which leads to increased levels of fulfillment, happiness, and personal gratification. Over time, these positive feelings can manifest into a healthier, longer life.

More independence, a healthier life, and increased comfort are only a few benefits of aging in place. You have to take into consideration the role of cost and convenience. Simply put, it's usually easier and more affordable to help seniors age in place than it is to move them into an institutional care facility. According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, seniors who age in the comfort of their homes can save thousands of dollars per month.

In-home care services from Always Best Care, for instance, are often less expensive than long-term solutions, which can cost upwards of six figures per year. To make matters worse, many residential care facilities are reluctant to accept long-term care insurance and other types of payment assistance.

With Always Best Care's home care services, seniors and their families have a greater level of control over their care plans. In-home care gives seniors the chance to form a bond with a trusted caregiver and also receive unmatched care that is catered to their needs. In long-term care facilities, seniors and their loved ones have much less control over their care plan and have less of a say in who provides their care.

Affordable Care

In-home care is a valuable resource that empowers seniors to age in place on their own terms. However, a big concern for many families and their loved ones is how much in-home care costs. If you're worried that in-home care is too expensive, you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that it is one of the most affordable senior care arrangements available.

Typically, hiring an Always Best Care in-home caregiver for a few hours a week is more affordable than sending your loved one to a long-term care facility. This is true even for seniors with more complex care needs.

At Always Best Care, we will work closely with you and your family to develop a Care Plan that not only meets your care needs, but your budget requirements, too. Once we discover the level of care that you or your senior need, we develop an in-home care plan that you can afford.

In addition to our flexible care options, families should also consider the following resources to help offset potential home care costs:

If your loved one qualifies, Medicaid may help reduce in-home care costs. Review your CT's Medicaid program laws and benefits, and make sure your senior's financial and medical needs meet Medicaid eligibility requirements.
Attendance and aid benefits through military service can cover a portion of the costs associated with in-home care for veterans and their spouses.
Many senior care services like in-home care are included in long-term care insurance options. Research different long-term care solutions to find a plan that provides coverage for senior care.
Home care can be included as part of a senior's private insurance plan. Read over your loved one's insurance policy carefully or speak with their insurance provider to determine if in-home care is covered.
Depending on the life insurance plan, you may be able to apply your policy toward long-term care. You may be able to use long-term-care coverage to help pay for in-home elderly care.

Compassionate Care. Trusted Caregivers.

When you or your senior loved one needs assistance managing daily tasks at home, finding a qualified caregiver can be challenging. It takes a special kind of person to provide reliable care for your senior loved one. However, a caregiver's role involves more than meal preparation and medication reminders. Many seniors rely on their caregivers for companionship, too.

Our companion care services give seniors the chance to socialize in a safe environment and engage in activities at home. These important efforts boost morale and provide much-needed relief from repetitive daily routines. A one-on-one, engaging conversation can sharpen seniors' minds and give them something in which to be excited.

At Always Best Care, we only hire care providers that we would trust to care for our own loved ones. Our senior caregivers in Wilton, CT understand how important it is to listen and communicate with their seniors. A seemingly small interaction, like a short hug goodbye, can make a major difference in a senior's day. Instead of battling against feelings of isolation, seniors begin to look forward to seeing their caregiver each week.

Understanding the nuances of senior care is just one of the reasons why our care providers are so great at their job.

Unlike some senior care companies, our caregivers must undergo extensive training before they work for Always Best Care. In addition, our caregivers receive ongoing training throughout the year. This training ensures that their standard of care matches up to the high standards we've come to expect. During this training, they will brush up on their communication skills, safety awareness, and symptom spotting. That way, your loved one receives the highest level of non-medical home care from day one.

Assisted Living Referral Services

While it's true that many seniors prefer to age at home, sometimes in-home care isn't the best fit. For those seniors and their families, choosing an assisted living facility makes more sense. Unfortunately, finding the optimal care facility is easier said than done in today's day and age. That's when Always Best Care's assisted living referral services begin to make a lot of sense.

Assisted living is a form of housing intended for seniors who require varying degrees of medical and personal attention. Accommodations may include single rooms, apartments, or shared living arrangements. Assisted living communities are typically designed to resemble a home-like environment and are physically constructed to encourage the independence of residents.

Respite Care Wilton, CT

At assisted living communities, seniors receive help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating. They may also benefit from coordination of services with outside healthcare providers, and monitoring of resident activities to ensure their health, safety, and well-being. Caregivers who work at assisted living communities can also provide medication administration and personal care services for older adults.

Other services offered within assisted living communities can include some or all of the following:

  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry
  • Recreational Activities
  • Social Outings
  • Emergency Medical Response
  • Medication Monitoring
  • Family Visitation
  • Personal Care
 Caregivers Wilton, CT

At Always Best Care, our representatives can match your senior's emotional, physical, and financial needs with viable assisted living communities nearby. Results are based on comparative data, so you can select the best choice for you or your loved one.

Always Best Care works closely with local senior living communities to gain valuable knowledge that we then use to help seniors and their loved ones make informed decisions. This information can include basic care and rent, resident availability, and services provided. Because Always Best Care is compensated by these communities, we provide senior living referral services at no extra cost to you.

Some of the most popular assisted living communities to consider in our area include the following:

  • Sunrise of Wilton
  • Brookdale Wilton
  • The Greens at Cannondale
  • Laurel Ridge
  • Wilton Meadows Nursing & Rehabilitation
  • Ogden House
Home Care Wilton, CT

For many seniors, moving into a senior living community revolves around how and when they want to make a transition to more involved care. WILTON, CT — Henry (Hank) Walter Bullinger passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 24, just a few days after his 97th birthday. Born in January 1927, Hank was the youngest of Fredric and Harriet Bullinger’s three children. He was raised in Bronxville, NY and often visited Wilton, where his grandparents and uncles had a small dairy farm. A great storyteller, Hank often told tales of his time on the farm helping move cattle from the meadow on the corner of Turtleback and Whipstick Roads, to pastures on what is now Deer Run Road. In the early 1900s, his mother was the teacher at the Bald Hill schoolhouse, at the age of 17.

At age five, Hank fell critically ill with polio, and at the height of the fever the doctor told his mother “if he is alive in 24 hours, he might make it.” Make it he did, and he went on to live 92 more years. Hank slowly recovered from the illness and the related paralysis, but it kept him out of school for a year, and he never fully regained the strength in his legs. That didn’t stop him from trying out for the varsity football team in high school. He was largely second-string, but for a couple of glorious games junior year he played center after the starter in the position was injured. Not a small achievement for a boy that had to relearn to walk at age six.

One of Hank’s proudest achievements was chairing the committee that oversaw the construction of the original Driscoll School in Wilton. He took on the role with no town committee experience, but tackled the challenge with earnest determination, working with architects, vendors, town finance and building officials, and board members to see the project through. It was a deeply meaningful experience for him.

Hank’s insatiable curiosity and love of learning was an inspiration. In addition to engineering, his interests were wide-ranging, and he would happily discuss topics from aviation to naval leadership during WWII, to the history of Wilton dating back to its founding. He was also endlessly curious about people and would hold lengthy conversations with everyone from call center staffers to his four grandkids. What they were interested in, he was interested in, and he would listen with enthusiasm.

Recognized as one of FCA’s major fundraisers, Minks to Sinks is a powerful force for good, rallying dedicated volunteers and leveraging their collective efforts to raise substantial funds.

“I am deeply appreciative of the hard work that makes Minks to Sinks such a tremendous success year after year,” said Robert F. Cashel, President & CEO of Family & Children’s Agency. “The dedication of these volunteers is inspiring and makes a lasting impact on those we serve.”

The transition of leadership was marked by the announcement of new co-chairs, Jennifer Davatzes and Linda Koch. They are taking the helm from Kim Healy, who served as Co-Chair for two years. Healy, whose time and energy investment allowed the event to be so successful, will stay on and continue lending her experience and guidance as a member of the Executive Committee.

“It’s our time to give back. We value FCA and see what it can do, and we love the idea of our community coming together and being able to recycle things. Being with other women and working for the same goal makes you feel good. It’s such a rewarding experience,” said Davatzes, a member since 2008, and Koch, a member since 2006.

Minks to Sinks is a Wilton women-run group with more than 80 years of history. Each year, thousands of items are donated or consigned to the bi-annual epic tag sales held under a massive tent near the Wilton High School tennis courts. All proceeds are donated to Family & Children’s Agency, a nonprofit human services organization serving children, families, adults, and seniors in Norwalk and Fairfield County.

The next Minks to Sinks sale will be held May 4, 5, and 6. For more information about donating, shopping, or joining Minks to Sinks, please visit www.minkstosinks.org.

Now in his fifth season, sixth year, at the helm, DiNunzio has his team playing in a state championship game for the first time since 1995.

No. 3 Wilton, ranked 10th in the GameTimeCT Top 10 Poll, will face No. 5 seed and fifth-ranked North Haven in the CIAC Class MM championship game Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Arute Field on the campus of Central Connecticut State University.

To get Wilton back to a consistent winner, the team had to accomplish some goals along the way with the final one coming last week in the Class MM semifinal win against Masuk.

“I don’t want to say we expected to be here but there was a five-year plan to be a state champion after five years. COVID kind of set that back but we are here now,” DiNunzio said. “I had to pinch myself this morning, the kids were all excited, the school is excited. It’s been a great ride and we have one more left. Check the boxes and this is the top box. The kids now understand that yes, they belong, yes, they can play with anyone but they can also win.”

Among the boxes that needed checking the last few seasons were winning games against the FCIAC’s top-tier teams which they had not done in a long time.

Wilton had lost 14-straight to Staples going back to 1997 before beating them in 2019; were 0-21-1 against rival Ridgefield going back to 1993 before winning in 2021; were 0-16 going back to 1995 before defeating New Canaan in 2021 and were 0-13 before beating Darien this season for the first varsity win over the Blue Wave since 2007.

“It is cool to think about all the things we have done that haven’t happened in a while. EJ likes to remind us that he has gotten all his boxes checked except for one,” senior defensive end Owen Theoharides said. “It is definitely motivational. Our town hasn’t had this feeling since 1995 and the last time we won a state championship was in the 80s. It’s about time, we just have to finish it Saturday.”

The last state championship came in 1985 when Wilton beat Hall in L-II. Wilton’s only other state championship came in 1978.

After the loss to Brookfield in 1995, the Warriors did not reach the state playoffs again until DiNunzio brought them back in 2019.

North Haven beat Wilton 14-7 in last year’s Class MM semifinals on the way to the title. The Warriors won a regular-season game 28-7 against the Nighthawks in 2021.

“Last year, we were OK and got by SMSA (Class MM quarterfinals) but I don’t think the kids believed we could beat North Haven,” DiNunzio said. “I think this year there is a different tone and different feeling. We love being here and it will be fun but we have to go win the game. I don’t think the kids will find the moment too big, last year they did, but not this year.”

This season, Wilton got off to a 4-0 start before having to face the FCIAC gauntlet of Staples, New Canaan and Darien, three teams also playing in state championship games Saturday.

DiNunzio was listening to GameTimeCT's high school football podcast and realized that stretch of the season would make or break his team’s postseason chances. One of the hosts said, “In three weeks, Wilton cold be irrelevant.”

“He was 100 percent right,” DiNunzio said. “I told the kids that was the turning point. After the two tough losses to Staples and New Canaan, I didn’t know what we would get for Darien. In the first quarter our starting running back (Mac McGovern) tears his ACL and I said, ‘whatever is going to happen this season hinges on what happens next.’ My kids continued to work, continued to battle. We beat Darien and we have gotten better ever since.”

Wilton has won six-straight since defeating Darien 24-10. The Warriors scored 216 points in those six games, averaging 36 points a game.

“To play those good teams helped us a lot. Getting the win against Darien fueled us so much for the rest of the season,” Wilton senior Todd Woodring said. “I think we rallied as a team when Mac went down. It sucked seeing him get hurt but everyone stepped up after that. Getting to play in a state championship means everything. I couldn’t imagine this is how we would end our careers here.”

Westport will remain in operation until the Wilton one comes online. Employees and volunteers will then relocate to Wilton, along with any animals at the Westport facility, said Connecticut Humane Society Director of Development Barbara Naugle.

She said a study of volunteers and staff showed that shifting to this location is not a great impact on their commutes.

The shift also means they can better help pets stay with their families by offering resources, including food, education and a low-fee pet clinic — all of which were identified as needs in a recent survey that garnered 30,000 responses.

"No one wants to give up their pet," Naugle said.

The Wilton site will also continue the adoptions the Westport location has provided for years.

There are a few reasons for having to close the Westport site. Naugle said it is too small to accommodate an animal resource center with parking, as it only sits on a 1.5-acre lot. In order to expand that facility, they would have to remove parking.

The Wilton one will be more than double the current Westport site, with the new one measuring nearly 15,000 square feet. The 18-acre site will also offer walking paths for dogs and a screened-in porch for cats. Plans call for preserving wetlands, removing invasive species and reopening a stream that was previously covered.

The idea for the Wilton facility came about eight years ago at a board of directors retreat. Naugle said they looked at the history of their organization and thought about the future of what people need. They then decided to focus on creating resources to keep pets in their current homes.

Naugle said they realized a way to improve this is by opening a new facility. The society conducted a marketing study of about 30,000 respondents in the state, who answered how far they would drive, the type of foods they need and challenges pet owners have faced.

The results showed that medical care, pet food and education were some of their greatest needs.

The society looked at over 40 properties, but none came close to Wilton's at 863 Danbury Road, she said. Half of the property is wooded, with a 75-foot ledge buffer at the back of the property separating it from a neighborhood.

Ground broke on the project last month. Naugle said the next steps are to demolish a few buildings on the site.

It's the latest building project and move for the Connecticut Humane Society in its more than 140-year history.

The organization was founded in 1881 in Hartford and moved to Newington in 1959. It is now the organization's headquarters and was rebuilt 25 years ago. The other location, in Waterford, was built in 1960 and renovated in 2011. Westport opened in 1969 and renovated in 2004.

In 2022, the humane society served 711 pets from animal control, provided more than 11,000 medical exams and 1600 routine surgeries and gave behavioral support to 400 pets, according to the organization.

Naugle said many Connecticut residents live close to the edge of their budgets. So it can be difficult to afford when something happens to their pet, on top of all their other bills.

More and more, the humane society is seeing people coming to their doors who need pet food or assistance with veterinary needs, she said.

Instead of having to give up their pets, the animal resource center provides assistance while the pets can stay with their owners.

Naugle said this is funded through a special assistance fund and grantors that provide resources.

Because of facilities like this, she added, Connecticut has one of the lowest pet euthanasia rates in the nation.

Other than being a parent, Naugle said this is the most important work of her life.

"It’s just so moving and so important," she said.

This facility will serve pets for well past her career and life, Naugle added.

"That’s a lot of pets," she said.

There is $2.5 million left to fundraise for the facility's $19.3 million total. Interested donors can donate through cthumane.org or by directly reaching out to Naugle.

She said they have seen donations as little at 70 cents from preschoolers, to $1 million from other donors.

“People love this project because people love their pets," Naugle said.

Dec. 11, 2023

It has been an eventful and exciting first week as your First Selectman, learning in depth about the opportunities and changes facing our town. My term began on December 1, when I and many of our fellow citizens were sworn into offices across the town government, during a heartwarming ceremony at the Wilton Library. It was a lively occasion, made more festive by the Wilton Boy Scouts Color Guard who opened the Swearing In, and the Girls Scouts, who sang ‘God Bless America’ to conclude the evening. Thank you to all who made such an important event run smoothly and with so much spirit.

In other town news, it is imperative that every resident understand the financial issues facing Wilton. Property owners should expect a letter in the next few days that explains their new property revaluation. These will likely be substantially higher than they were five years ago, as there are indications that many commercial property values have dropped, pushing higher costs onto private homeowners.

Moreover, a comprehensive study of our school facilities resulted in an estimated $100 million in repairs that may be required over the next 10 to 15 years. An additional report on our municipal buildings and properties is due soon that could potentially add millions more to our expenditures. A tour of Wilton’s Town Hall and other town owned buildings will show how necessary these updates are.

There are unique added stressors to undertaking these massive projects at this time: 1) Interest rates have climbed from 3% to 8%, making borrowing for capital projects more expensive; and, 2) Moody’s rating agency has informed Connecticut towns that instead of requiring municipalities to set aside 10% in reserve funds to earn a Triple A Rating, they are requiring that 25% to 35% in liquid assets be held in reserve (Please be kind to our Board of Finance members as they have a big job ahead of them this year.). A tri-board meeting between the Board of Education, the Board of Selectmen, and the Board of Finance is expected in the new year to discuss how to fund and manage such a massive undertaking. Click on this link to read an article written by Kathleen Rose Ozanic in Friday’s The Hour that explains, in detail, the challenges facing our schools’ capital funding.

Some exciting developments were discussed in our first Board of Selectmen meeting held on December 4th. In order to create greater opportunity for new businesses to operate in Wilton, a motion was passed that would permit possible future breweries, who manufacture their products on site, and to have their hours match what is currently allowable for restaurants and package stores in town. We welcome your input at the next public hearing to be held on December 19th, at 7pm, in Comstock Room 31, or you may join us on Zoom. The link will be posted on the town’s website in the coming days. A final vote on the issue will be held at a Special Town Meeting on January 9th.

As you can see there is much happening in our beautiful town of Wilton, so I will end with a note to encourage you to continually check the town website for updates and news, and to click on each committee’s pages for greater detail on town goings on. If you are interested in volunteering on a town committee, please click on this link to learn how to get started.

Here are a couple of quick tips to keep you safe and informed as winter sets in:

Our Fire Chief reminds us that to properly dispose of your fireplace ashes, give them several days rest in your fireplace to make sure all of the sparks are out. Then it’s safe to put them in a METAL container and place them outdoors ten feet from any building for two more days before finally disposing of them with the rest of your household trash.

Is your power out? Call 1-800-286-2000, or text “Out,” to 23129 from your cell phone. Or visit this link to the Eversource website to report the outage and receive information and instructions.

I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve my community as your First Selectman. We may have some daunting tasks and tight financial straits to navigate, but we also have great opportunity with a tremendous pool of bright, talented, committed Wiltonites who work hard every day to make our town the bright spot that it is. I hope you’ll join us in our efforts to keep Wilton moving forward. My door in Town Hall is always open and the coffee is always ready, so please stop by and introduce yourself. If I haven’t met you already, I look forward to shaking your hand.

With warmest wishes,

Toni Boucher

First Selectman, Wilton
