MARLBOROUGH, MA — The municipal election is heating up in Marlborough, and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.

I have been married to my lovely wife Linda for 35 years. We have two wonderful children. Kaylin age 34 and Cameron age 33.

Marlboro High School graduate 1977. Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Lowell 1981.
Are you originally from Marlborough?
Born at the Wiesbaden Germany Airforce Base in 1959. Move to Marlboro in 1961.
What is your occupation?
I am retired after being employed at the Seabrook Station Nuclear Power Plant for over 35 years. At Seabrook Station, I held various engineering, project management, and leadership positions, including Licensing Manager and Engineering Programs Manager.
Have you previously or currently been elected to an office?
Currently serving my 13th term as Councilor at Large. City Council President the last 6 years.
Why are you running for the Councilor at-large seat?
I am running because I believe my experience, education and passion for a government that solves problems will ensure that Marlboro plans for and prospers in the future.

Ensuring Marlboro residents can afford to live in the city. I will continue to be the financial conservative on the council that has implemented fiscal policies that contributed to steady and predictable tax adjustments that are lower than our surrounding communities, while providing outstanding city services.
What sets you apart from other candidates seeking this position?
Leadership and financial acumen. My council colleagues acknowledge my leadership skills by unanimously electing me City Council President for six consecutive years. I have chaired the Municipal Aggregation Committee for the last nine years. During that time, the program has saved residents over $35 million in their electricity bills. The Committee just approved a new 3-year contract (effective November 2025) that will have electricity rates lower than the current contract, which will save residents money on their electricity bills. I have guided the city council to secure over $7,000,000 for the West Side Fire Station. My knowledge of city finances is unmatched by any of my colleagues and has guided Marlboro to multiple AAA bond ratings and the ability to fund the Goodnow Brothers school and renovated library with minimal impact on the taxes.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Fiscal responsibility - Working to ensure the residents of Marlboro get the most for their tax dollar. Work towards a steady, stable, and predictable yearly tax adjustments. Ensuring public safety positions are staffed to support the needs of Marlboro and its residents. Continuing to expand the City’s green footprint. Ensuring the finances are in place to fund the New Richer School and a Fire Station on the west side of the city.
How does your experience prepare you for success in this position?
I am an engineer by profession. I have been solving problems in the workplace for over 44 years. Problems involving local, state, and federal people. I will continue to apply the problem-solving skills that I have developed in the private sector to my work as your Councilor at Large to successfully address Marlboro issues.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself?
I am an avid hockey fan. A Boston Bruins season ticket holder for 38 years, play hockey 3 to 4 times per week and a member of the Ice Crew for the Worcester Railers Hockey Club.
