FOOTBALL TOP 20 RANKINGS
1. ST. JOHN BOSCO (9-0)
The Braves are coming off a 42-0 victory over Servite. Sophomore quarterback Koa Malau’ulu completed 16 of 24 passes for 229 yards and three touchdowns. Malau’ulu also had a 5-yard touchdown run. Sophomore running back Corey Hinton had two total touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving). Senior linebacker Matthew Muasau, who is committed to UCLA, had five tackles and forced a fumble. St. John Bosco will clinch the Trinity League title outright with a victory over rival Mater Dei.

2. LOS ALAMITOS (8-1)
The Griffins are coming off a 28-9 loss to San Clemente. Senior running back Lenny Ibarra had 154 total yards of offense (106 receiving, 48 rushing), including a 6-yard touchdown run. Los Alamitos will clinch a share of the Alpha League title if they beat Mission Viejo.

3. DOWNEY (8-1)
The Bears started slow but pulled away for a 40-0 victory over Warren. Senior quarterback Oscar Rios completed 16 of 25 passes for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Rios ran for 84 yards and one touchdown. Downey will secure their second consecutive outright Gateway League title with a victory over Dominguez.

4. LONG BEACH WILSON (8-1)
The Bruins are coming off a 49-12 victory over Long Beach Jordan. Sophomore Jemel Grigsby had four touchdowns. Senior receiver Thomas Jones had four receptions for 131 yards and two touchdowns. Wilson will secure the Moore League title outright for the first time since 1991 with a victory over No. 6-ranked Lakewood.

5. LONG BEACH POLY (4-5*)
The Jackrabbits are coming off a 72-0 victory over Cabrillo. Poly can become tri-champions of the Moore League with a victory over Compton and a Lakewood win over Wilson this week.

6. LAKEWOOD (6-3)
The Lancers are coming off a bye and will earn a share of the Moore League title if they beat No. 4 Wilson on Thursday.

7. MILLIKAN (3-7*)
The Rams are coming off a 42-14 victory over Compton in the program’s regular-season finale. Millikan finished fourth in the Moore League and must wait to see if it receives an at-large berth in the CIF-SS playoffs.

8. ST. PIUS X-ST. MATTHIAS (3-6)
The Warriors have lost three straight Angelus League games, including a 28-14 loss to Cathedral. Senior quarterback Jassi Williams completed 18 of 30 passes for 183 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Junior running back Le’Allyn Monroe ran for 79 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries. The Warriors will look to bounce back against Bishop Alemany.

9. MAYFAIR (3-6)
The Monsoons are coming off a 42-18 victory over Dominguez. They are on a three-game win streak in the Gateway League. Mayfair will clinch an automatic playoff berth with a victory over rival La Mirada this week.
