DENHAM SPRINGS, La. — Evangelist Rick Gage and the GO TELL AMERICA team will hold a crusade in Livingston Parish March 16-19 at the Denham Springs High School Yellow Jacket Stadium.
The crusade, which will begin at 7 p.m. each day, is being held in partnership with numerous local churches in the Denham Springs area. Admission for each night is free.
“The last thing Christ directed His friends to do before He left the earth was to share the Gospel with the whole world,” Gage said. “Not only does this directive still exist, but we believe it is to be just as much our No. 1 goal in the 21st century as it was in the first.”
Similar GO TELL AMERICA Crusades, held across the nation, have routinely drawn more than 10,000 attendees and resulted in thousands of decisions for Christ.
Duck Dynasty’s Al Robertson (alandlisarobertson.com), Christian music artist Charles Billingsley (charlesbillingsley.com) and other special guests will be at the crusade for one night.
Billingsley will attend on March 16 and Robertson on March 17. Adrian Despres (forgeforward.org/event-speakers/speaker-directory/adrian-despres), former football chaplain at the University of South Carolina under Lou Holtz and Steve Spurrier, will also speak on Monday night. Christian recording artists, Rush of Fools (rushoffools.com), will lead music every night.
LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier will be a special guest of the Go Tell Livingston Parish Crusade at 7 p.m. Sunday (March 16)
Nussmeier will share information about his faith walk in managing his college football career and life choices.
The crusade is open and free to the public. The event will run for four nights, beginning at 7 pm each day, and will be led by evangelist Rick Gage of the GO TELL AMERICA Crusade. The event is being sponsored by numerous churches in Livingston Parish.
Other special guests to attend the four-night event include Duck Dynasty's Al Robertson, Christian music artists Charles Billingsley and Rush of Fools, and speakers Adrian Despres and Ken Freeman.

“We’re excited to have Rick Gage and his team hold a crusade in our area,” said Rev. Leo Miller, pastor at First Baptist Church of Denham Springs. “Rick has been described as the ‘small town Billy Graham,’ meaning that he brings Billy Graham-style crusades to small towns across America. Rick has been obedient to God’s call on his life to take the Gospel to places that most other evangelists see only from the air on their way to big cities.”
Gage said it’s crucial that no one is overlooked, that everyone has the opportunity to hear the Gospel and respond to it.
“The need and urgency to evangelize the unsaved have never been greater,” he said. “Life is brief. Life is uncertain. Death is sure. And Christ may appear at any moment.”
Chris Palmer, executive director of GO TELL AMERICA in Atlanta, called it fitting that the crusade be held at the Denham Springs stadium because it brings people together in unity for the love of sports.
“It is a neutral site that removes the barriers that keep people away from churches on Sundays,” Palmer said. “With all of the sports victories that occur in stadiums, we want to help people find the biggest victory of their lives.”
First Baptist Church of Denham Springs has had a longstanding relationship with GO TELL AMERICA, especially with the student summer camps the organization provides each year in various states to churches across the nation.
“With this connection, we asked for Dr. Leo Miller to pray about discussing with his colleagues in ministry the joint effort of reaching the unchurched in Livingston Parish,” Palmer said. “We have often heard people ask, ‘Does crusade evangelism still work today?’ The answer is a resounding ‘yes.’ God is still in the business of redeeming people, and He still uses His Church to do so. Crusade evangelism still works today because God is still using His people to bring the lost to the cross.”
