POTOMAC, MD — Karen Huger, a cast member of Bravo's reality TV series "Real Housewives of Potomac," was released from prison just six months into her year-long sentence for driving under the influence in Montgomery County, according to a report.
Huger was released from the Montgomery County Detention Center on Tuesday, Fox 5 DC reported.
In February, the reality star was sentenced to two years in jail, with one year suspended. Following the completion of her jail time, Huger is expected to be on probation for five years.
Huger, 61, was driving a 2017 Maserati about midnight on March 19, 2024, when it crossed the median strip and crashed into street signs, near the intersection of Oaklyn Drive and Beman Woods Way in Potomac. She was not seriously hurt.

She was found guilty in late December 2024 of DUI, negligent driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision and failure to notify of address change, the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office said. The jury acquitted Huger of a reckless driving charge.
Huger, often called the Grande Dame of Potomac, entered a treatment facility in January for “taking antidepressants and drinking,” according to a short video message that was played for her castmates, The New York Times reported.
Huger had three previous alcohol-related offenses. Before last year's crash, she was convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol in Maryland in 2011.
During her trial, police body camera footage showed Huger appearing to slur her words, Fox 5 DC previously reported. An EMT testified that Huger refused treatment at the scene of the accident and “swayed” when she attempted to get into an ambulance.
At the time of the car accident, Huger said she was dealing with emotional distress, US magazine reported.
Huger has been a cast member of the Bravo series since the show began in 2016.
The show website describes Huger as a "pillar of strength and a force to be reckoned with. ... She attended the University of Virginia and is applying her entrepreneurial spirit in various beauty, fashion and lifestyle ventures while reigning supreme as the Grande Dame of Potomac."
