 In-Home Care Enterprise, UT

How does In-home Senior Care in Enterprise, UT work?

Home is where the heart is. While that saying can sound a tad cliche, it's especially true for many seniors living in America. When given a choice, older adults most often prefer to grow older at home. An AARP study found that three out of four adults over the age of 50 want to stay in their homes and communities as they age. When you begin to think about why, it makes sense. Home offers a sense of security, comfort, and familiarity.

The truth is, as we age, we begin to rely on others for help. When a family is too busy or lives too far away to fulfill this role, in-home senior care is often the best solution. Home care services allow seniors to enjoy personal independence while also receiving trustworthy assistance from a trained caregiver.

At Always Best Care, we offer a comprehensive range of home care services to help seniors stay healthy while they get the help they need to remain independent. As your senior loved one ages, giving them the gift of senior care is one of the best ways to show your love, even if you live far away.

Aging in Place: The Preferred Choice for Most Seniors

While it's true that some seniors have complicated medical needs that prevent them from staying at home, aging in place is often the best arrangement for seniors and their families. With a trusted caregiver, seniors have the opportunity to live with a sense of dignity and do so as they see fit.

In-home care makes it possible for millions of seniors to age in place every year. Rather than moving to a unfamiliar assisted living community, seniors have the chance to stay at home where they feel the happiest and most comfortable.

Here are just a few of the reasons why older men and women prefer to age at home:

Comfort
Comfort

How much does a senior's home truly mean to them? A study published by the American Society on Aging found that more than half of seniors say their home's emotional value means more than how much their home is worth in monetary value. It stands to reason, that a senior's home is where they want to grow old. With the help of elderly care in Enterprise, UT, seniors don't have to age in a sterilized care facility. Instead, they can age gracefully in the place they want to be most: their home. In contrast, seniors who move to a long-term care facility must adapt to new environments, new people, and new systems that the facility implements. At this stage in life, this kind of drastic change can be more harmful than helpful.

Healthy Living
Healthy Living

Institutional care facilities like nursing homes often put large groups of people together to live in one location. On any given day, dozens of staff members and caregivers run in and out of these facilities. Being around so many new people in a relatively small living environment can be dangerous for a seniors' health and wellbeing. When you consider that thousands of seniors passed away in nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, opting for in-home care is often a safer, healthier choice for seniors. Aging in place has been shown to improve seniors' quality of life, which helps boost physical health and also helps insulate them from viral and bacterial risks found in elderly living facilities.

Independence
Independence

For many seniors, the ability to live independently with assistance from a caregiver is a priceless option. With in-home care, seniors experience a higher level of independence and freedom - much more so than in other settings like an assisted living community. When a senior has the chance to age in place, they get to live life on their own terms, inside the house that they helped make into a home. More independence means more control over their personal lives, too, which leads to increased levels of fulfillment, happiness, and personal gratification. Over time, these positive feelings can manifest into a healthier, longer life.

Cost and Convenience
Cost and Convenience

More independence, a healthier life, and increased comfort are only a few benefits of aging in place. You have to take into consideration the role of cost and convenience. Simply put, it's usually easier to help seniors age in place than it is to move them into an institutional care facility. In-home care services from Always Best Care, for instance, can be less expensive than long-term solutions, which can cost upwards of six figures per year. To make matters worse, many residential care facilities are reluctant to accept long-term care insurance and other types of payment assistance.

With Always Best Care's home care services, seniors and their families have a greater level of control over their care plans. In-home care in Enterprise, UT gives seniors the chance to form a bond with a trusted caregiver and also receive unmatched care that is catered to their needs. In long-term care facilities, seniors and their loved ones have much less control over their care plan and have less of a say in who provides their care.

Empowers Seniors

Affordable Care Plans

In-home care is a valuable resource that empowers seniors to age in place on their own terms. However, a big concern for many families and their loved ones is how much in-home care costs. If you're worried that in-home care is too expensive, you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that it is one of the most affordable senior care arrangements available.

Typically, hiring an Always Best Care in-home caregiver for a few hours a week is more affordable than sending your loved one to a long-term care facility. This is true even for seniors with more complex care needs.

At Always Best Care, we will work closely with you and your family to develop a Care Plan that not only meets your care needs, but your budget requirements, too. Once we discover the level of care that you or your senior need, we develop an in-home care plan that you can afford.

In addition to our flexible care options, families should also consider the following resources to help offset potential home care costs:

Veteran's Benefits
Veteran's Benefits

Attendance and aid benefits through military service can cover a portion of the costs associated with in-home care for veterans and their spouses.

Long-Term Care Insurance
Long-Term Care Insurance

Many senior care services like in-home care are included in long-term care insurance options. Research different long-term care solutions to find a plan that provides coverage for senior care.

Private Insurance
Private Insurance

Home care can be included as part of a senior's private insurance plan. Read over your loved one's insurance policy carefully or speak with their insurance provider to determine if in-home care is covered.

Life Insurance
Life Insurance

Depending on the life insurance plan, you may be able to apply your policy toward long-term care. You may be able to use long-term-care coverage to help pay for in-home elderly care.

Respite Care Enterprise, UT

During your Care Plan consultation with Always Best Care, your Care Coordinator will speak with you about in-home care costs and what options there may be to help meet your budget needs.

Compassionate Care. Trusted Caregivers

When you or your senior loved one needs assistance managing daily tasks at home, finding a qualified caregiver can be challenging. It takes a special kind of person to provide reliable care for your senior loved one. However, a caregiver's role involves more than meal preparation and medication reminders. Many seniors rely on their caregivers for companionship, too.

Our companion care services give seniors the chance to socialize in a safe environment and engage in activities at home. These important efforts boost morale and provide much-needed relief from repetitive daily routines. A one-on-one, engaging conversation can sharpen seniors' minds and give them something in which to be excited.

At Always Best Care, we only hire care providers that we would trust to care for our own loved ones. Our senior caregivers in Enterprise,UT understand how important it is to listen and communicate with their seniors. A seemingly small interaction, like a short hug goodbye, can make a major difference in a senior's day. Instead of battling against feelings of isolation, seniors begin to look forward to seeing their caregiver each week.

Understanding the nuances of senior care is just one of the reasons why our care providers are so great at their job.

Unlike some senior care companies, our caregivers must undergo extensive training before they work for Always Best Care. In addition, our caregivers receive ongoing training throughout the year. This training ensures that their standard of care matches up to the high standards we've come to expect. During this training, they will brush up on their communication skills, safety awareness, and symptom spotting. That way, your loved one receives the highest level of non-medical home care from day one.

 Caregivers Enterprise, UT

If you have never considered in-home care before, we understand that you and your family may have concerns about your Care Plan and its Care Coordinator. Trail name: South Boundary Trail (lower portions) Location: West of Enterprise near the Nevada border Difficulty: Easy (unless doing the complete trail — not recommended) Length: 1/4–1/2 mile Elevation gain: Minimal Average time: 1–2 hours Family-friendly: Yes Dog-friendly: Yes

Pine Park is a long-forgotten wonderland of white volcanic pinnacles and cones (very reminiscent of the fairy towers of Cappadocia, Turkey) located in a veritable wilderness west of Enterprise. While this hike is a long ways from civilization, it is a terrific place to spend an afternoon exploring. The trail listed here is the South Boundary Trail, but the recommendation is to just explore the lower reaches of the trail around the “park” itself. This is not a park in any true sense of the word. There are a few picnic benches scattered around the parking area and some spots for tent camping, but that is about it. Even though Pine Park itself is only 20 or so miles from Enterprise, it is a remote place. Be sure to let someone know where you are going and that your vehicle is in good operating condition and has at least one functioning spare tire.

Access: To get to Pine Park, drive approximately 38 miles north from the junction of Bluff Street and St. George Boulevard to the “T” Junction in Enterprise. Turn left on State Route 219 (Main Street), and drive west for approximately 16.5 miles, continuing as the road becomes Crestline Road. Take a left on Forest Road 001 (White Rocks Road) and drive for 9.5 miles to the park. Just before you reach the parking area, take note of a spectacular viewpoint of conical peaks — you will be returning to this spot. The last 100 yards or so are rough but still passable for a passenger car. Note that you will pass the upper trailhead for South Boundary Trail. Ignore this and continue to the parking area. The South Boundary Trail is at the north end of the parking lot.

Before heading onto the trail, take the time to explore the crags and boulders around the parking area. There are numerous spots to explore in the vicinity, and young climbers will delight in the easily accessible rock formations. Just keep a close eye on them, because some of these crags are tall enough to be dangerous.

After exploring here, head north on the trail, again taking time to wander around and explore the numerous rock formations that dot the area. In particular, there is one rock close to the trail that has a unique chimney shape and a couple of fun pockets to explore. This is a place to take your time and wander and explore. The trail itself is indistinct in places and trees have fallen across it in others. After a short distance, the trail fades in a marshy area, and while it can be picked up again, it is almost not worth it beyond that point.

When finished exploring the area, return to the car and drive back to the viewpoint you passed along the way. Park on the side of the road and look for a way down into the bowl below. It can be steep, so exercise caution on the descent. In many ways this is the most impressive section of Pine Park. The hoodoos, which were visible from the trail, are much more spectacular here, rising several hundred feet above the bowl. Large Ponderosa Pines are completely dwarfed by the crags here. This particular spot is awe-inspiring and spectacular: a place to explore, a place to contemplate the forces of nature and the wild beauty of Utah. When finished, scramble back up the road.

If you’re interested in doing the longer version of the South Boundary Trail, the ideal way to hike it is to use a car shuttle, parking one vehicle at the upper trailhead and another at Pine Park itself. Doing it this way makes for a three-mile hike with a little over 600 feet of elevation loss. Of course, if you’re opting to use a single vehicle, the roundtrip becomes six miles with 600 feet of loss and gain.

PitchBook Data’s annual top 100 colleges ranked by startup founders comes down to a comparison between universities and their alumni entrepreneurs, calculating how many have found companies backed by venture capital, an investment to expand business. “The undergraduate and graduate rankings rely on PitchBook data and are based on the number of founders whose companies received a first round of venture funding between Jan. 1, 2012, and Oct. 21, 2022. ENTERPRISE — With school starting next week in southern Utah's Washington County, some parents are worried about ongoing construction at Enterprise High School.

"I'm concerned about them walking to and from the portables that are set up, because it will be snowy," said Heather Cram, who has four students attending the school. "I'm concerned about strangers being in our school."

Enterprise High School also serves as a middle school and houses students from seventh through 12th grade, in the rural community about 50 miles from St. George.

The school has been undergoing an extensive remodel for more than a year. It's not expected to be completed until 2025.

"We told our parents that this would be a significant amount of time," said Steven Dunham, director of communications for the Washington County School District. "We need them to be patient with us because this is not going to be done overnight. This is not a project we can finish in three months."

Dunham said the significant project has run into a few unexpected problems, like supply chain issues, labor shortages, and having to install a brand new sewer line. Even so, construction is still on track to finish on time.

Cram said she grew concerned when she saw that the front of the building is completely open right as school is starting. She told KSL-TV that she doesn't know how all the construction workers will be supervised.

"There's a lot of turnover in the construction community," she said. "I have a lot of respect for them; my husband has worked in construction. It doesn't mean they're bad people, but it would just take one bad person and one student to be in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Dunham said it's standard practice to remodel schools in phases while classes are still taking place and that they are taking security seriously.

"We will ensure that the building is safe while the children are in the facility and the construction is going on," he said. "And come 2025, fingers crossed, they will have a fantastic facility."

When the remodel is finished, the school will have new front offices, a lunchroom, a commons area, and a media center. There will also be more classrooms and security upgrades. In addition, every component inside Enterprise High is being updated to the current building code.

Enterprise is in the middle of a dynastic run in 2A, and junior pitcher Blakely Christiansen has been a part of it from the beginning.

Christiansen pitched just a single strikeout, but her defense held off a rally from No. 2 Duchesne as the No. 1 Wolves secured the 2A state softball championship by beating the Eagles, 7-3. It’s the third state title in Enterprise’s school history, all of which have come since 2019.

Christiansen pitched as a freshman during 2021’s title win.

“Blakely’s been here three times pitching,” Enterprise coach Katye Jones said. “She’s just so mentally tough.”

Her mental toughness aside, Christiansen could hardly hold back the tears after lifting another title over her head on the field in Spanish Fork.

“It’s the best feeling in the world,” Christiansen said. “We’ve worked so hard for this moment, and we deserve it.”

The Wolves faced the Eagles twice in the tournament, and their last game in the semifinals the day before was a wild one. Some late-game errors and a disputed runner interference no-call helped Enterprise rush past Duchesne in the final two innings for a 5-4 win to make the title game. Duchesne responded by shutting down Parowan the following morning, 3-2, to set up another meeting with the Wolves.

But in Round 2, Enterprise left no doubt.

A huge five-run second inning helped the Wolves build an insurmountable 6-0 lead by the top of the third that made some wonder if a sixth and seventh inning would be needed, especially as Grantsville was run-ruling North Sanpete in the 3A title game the next field over.

Junior infielder Addi Nelson hit a two-RBI home run as part of the second inning. She finished with a game-high four RBI. The home run was the only hit beyond singles for Enterprise the whole game.

After Duchesne stopped the bleeding with three straight fly ball outs in the bottom of the fourth, the Eagles turned it on in the fifth. After managing just two hits in the first four innings, Duchesne popped off three straight singles to suddenly load the bases. Then, a sacrifice fly, followed by another single, got the Eagles on the board and narrowed the lead to 6-2.

The Eagles got another RBI in the fifth inning to make it 6-3, but Enterprise widened the lead again with a run in the bottom of the sixth.

With everything on the line in the top of the seventh, Enterprise walked out and put on a clinic in fielding. For the third time in the game, the Wolves outed Duchesne’s first three batters, capping it off with the third baseman leaping to catch an overhead line drive to seal the win.

“It just made me so happy (to see the catch),” Christiansen said. “We’ve worked on line drives before, and just for her to go all out to get it was amazing.”

Jones said the Wolves had 2022’s championship game still on their minds entering the tournament.

“We still felt it from last year,” Jones said. “They knew they’d have to work really hard. They believed in everything they did, and they did it.”

On the team shirts for Enterprise this season read their motto, “On Purpose, With Purpose.” The Wolves fulfilled their purpose on a cloudy Saturday afternoon, and it’s safe to say the history of Enterprise softball is now.

Beaver already beat Enterprise 52-3 back in week 7, and its average margin of victory of this season is 43 points. Beaver’s closest game was a 42-20 win over Grantsville, a team that’s still playing in the 3A semifinals this weekend.

The Beavers have suffered quite a few injuries to skill position players, but because of great depth they haven’t skipped a beat.

“Our senior class, we have about 24 kids and for a school our size that’s a pretty good number of seniors. We have a tremendous amount of depth. Most teams in our classification just don’t have that kind of depth, so even though we’ve had quite a few injuries this year we’ve been able to withstand that while a lot of other teams probably wouldn’t have been able to do it,” said Beaver coach Jon Marshall.

A big reason for Beaver’s dominance has been the steady play of its offensive line, led by Jake Eichorn and Cutler Edwards.

Beaver is averaging 359 rushing yard per game, with four different players over 500 yards on the season.

Despite clear mismatches throughout the season, Marshall said his players have never lost focus and he doesn’t expect anything to change in the semifinals.

“We’re not going to worry about what’s happened in the past we just have to make sure we’re playing our best football and that we’re executing. It’s going to be 0-0 when the game starts and we have to go out and perform and execute if we want to win,” said Marshall.

For Enterprise, ending its nine-game losing streak against Beaver might take a perfect game and then even more magic.

Wolves coach Andy Messersmith said he’s optimistic about that possibility with as well as his defense is playing. Coming off a 24-8 win over North Summit in the quarterfinals, and then a 24-14 win over Kanab and a 21-0 win over Millard to end the regular season, Messersmith believes his defense is playing as well as it has in years.

It will require a Herculean effort to stop Beaver, though.

“Last game I felt like we gave up way too many big plays and it just snowballed from there. I think if we eliminate the big plays and make them earn everything that will help us out,” said Messersmith.

Offensively, Enterprise will need a big game on the ground from Braxton Messersmith and Bryant Jimenez, with the two combining for 174 yards and two scores on the ground in the quarterfinals.
