ST. LOUIS — The Delmar Loop will transform into a vibrant celebration of life, memory, and culture on Saturday, November 1, 2025, as the community comes together for the annual Día de los Muertos Festival. The event, taking place at the intersection of Delmar and Rosedale from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., is free, family-friendly, and pet-friendly, inviting everyone to experience one of the most colorful and heartfelt traditions in the world.
While rooted in Mexican heritage, the Día de los Muertos Festival in St. Louis has grown into a multicultural celebration that honors loved ones who have passed while emphasizing unity, remembrance, and joy. Organizers say the event is designed to be inclusive — a chance for people from all backgrounds to learn, share, and connect through culture and community.
In the week leading up to the festival, local businesses throughout The Loop will display traditional Día de los Muertos altars, beautifully decorated with candles, flowers, and photos. Festivalgoers will have the opportunity to leave notes to loved ones at the altars as a way to share memories and pay tribute.
The festival grounds will feature a Craft Booth hosted by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Mexicanos en St. Louis, offering traditional crafts, face painting for kids and adults, and a digital photo booth for visitors to capture their colorful costumes and painted calavera faces.
A highlight of the evening will be the festival’s three costume contests, encouraging guests of all ages (and even their pets) to join in the fun:
- Pet Costume Contest: 4:30 PM
- Kids Costume Contest: 5:30 PM
- Adult Costume Contest: 8:00 PM
Each contest will feature prizes from local businesses for the most creative and authentic Día de los Muertos attire.
The night will be filled with live entertainment that captures the spirit of the holiday. Performances include Anna Iriarte, Mariachi Los Reyes, Ballet Folklorico Ollin, DJ Erik Sendation, and Banda Artilleros, ensuring the energy stays high well into the evening.
And of course, no festival would be complete without delicious food. Local favorites such as Deliciosas Aguas Frescas EL PAPIRIN, Tacos Le Jeffa, Amazing Arepa Bar Latin Food, Brasas, and Session Taco will be serving up their specialties, alongside other community vendors offering festive drinks and treats.
