RALEIGH, N.C. -- It's been an interesting last week for NC State men's basketball, with one tough home loss sending some fans completely off the rails. Then a road win helping keep the Wolfpack in the hunt for the top half of the ACC with a 4-1 record and an unblemished 3-0 mark on the road in ACC play.
Such is life as an NC State fan.
But now the fun truly begins for State as it hosts two tough opponents this coming week with both Wake Forest and Virginia Tech coming to town. Wolfpack head coach Kevin Keatts sat down on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to discuss the team's success on the road, fixing the turnover issues in recent games, the challenge of facing Wake Forest and much more.
Watch the full video below with a complete transcript coming later today.
What have you learned about your team after being one of two teams to start out 3-0 on the road in ACC play?
You know, each game you kind of learn a little bit more. All of them been a little bit dramatic, to be honest with you. We've done it in different ways. At Notre Dame we didn't play well at all and just kind of found a way to win the game and just hung in there and then pulled it out at the end.
Then the Louisville game, you look back at that one, we kind of had control of the game for most of the game and obviously a couple of things down the stretch. But it says a lot about our guys and their focus on the road. Road wins are so hard in college basketball. To have the three of them, I tell our guys that those are golden.
I just think that with a group that's played a lot of college basketball and is older in age, I think that's helped us out to be able to focus a little bit more.
