ASHEBORO N.C. – The 2023 Municipal General Election is coming up soon and there are new polling locations and changes to voter ID requirements you need to know if you plan to vote.
The Municipal General Election which includes include the mayor and members of the municipality’s governing board for Asheboro, Franklinville, High Point, Liberty, Ramseur, Randleman, Seagrove, Staley and Thomasville, as well as the Asheboro Board of Education will be held on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023.
Registered voters who live within the boundaries of these municipalities and the Asheboro City Schools district may vote in the municipal election. Municipal contests may include the mayor and members of the municipality’s governing board.
Due to recent changes to NC law, all voters will be asked to show photo ID when they vote. While most voters will show their driver’s license, those without a driver’s license can show one of many other acceptable photo IDs.

All voters will be allowed to vote with or without ID. Voters who lack ID can get one for free from their county board of elections. Find out more at ncsbe.gov/voter-id.
Absentee Ballots
A voter can fill out an absentee ballot request at votebymail.ncsbe.gov, or by filling out a request form provided by the board of elections. The request must be received through the website or by the Randolph County Board of Elections by 5 p.m. October 31, 2023.
Absentee ballots will be mailed to voters who have requested them beginning October 6, 2023.
Polling Times and Locations
Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 7th, 2023.

One-stop early voting will be held at the Randolph County Board of Elections, 1457 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro, from Thursday, October 19th, 2023, to Saturday, November 4, 2023:
You can view a sample ballot online by visiting www.ncsbe.gov. Sample ballots are also available at the board of elections office and will be posted at polling places on election day.
The voter registration deadline for this election is 5 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2023.
Eligible individuals who are not registered by that deadline may register and vote at any early voting site during the early voting period. New registrants will be required to provide documentation of their residence.
